This laptop is pretty quick. Although I dont play games on it, it is as fast as my sons gaming computer. and the price was excellent

I wanted to replace my old HP and shopped around just to find out nowadays there is practically two kinds of PC... Cheap machines, with little resources and then the upper level, with everything you could dream on. That's how I consider my new HP Envy. It can easily replace any Desktop PC and give you the additional feature of being portable. Crispy large screen, lots of space on the hard drive and huge RAM. I think this is going to last another three years, like the one I'm retiring now, actually setting to one of my workers primary PC.

I purchased this laptop for CAD and graphics use. Performance is good but it's on the heavy side for a modern laptop.

I do like this machine, however the screen is not as crisp as my Samsung one was. Other than that it is perfect for everything I do online. I don't play games, or program so having a computer is too much equipment for me. I Google, Facebook, Netflix, answer my emails. This is it. I found the price to be reasonable, plus having a sale price really made it a great deal! I never buy electronics without Geek Squad protection and even if you add that price in it still is worth it!

Im not completely satisfied with the startup speed of this laptop. I have previously bought HP and never had so many issues regarding performance. Im still trying to figure out what exactly is causing it to have so slow startup problems. Once it starts, its pretty fast and pograms run without any delays. With 16GB Ram you would expect it to be a fast equipment, all around.

A credit to a Geek squad member name Taylor(young man) I ask for his advice on pc or mac(being a pc man) and for photo and video, and his knowledge and answers are exactly what made me purchase my 3rd laptop from you folks, and you staff and prices is what has kept me buying most of my major electronics from you folks...I cant say enough of how impressed I was with Taylor, I couldn't by that day but came back and did..you are one of the few recent satisfactory customer experience's I have had in awhile...thanks...

I did not have to do any configuration, the laptop started right up out of the box, it is very fast with 16 GB memory. It has 4 USB 3.0 and excellent graphics with 2 GB memory. However, it does not have SSD.

I am used to building my gaming rigs myself but I never thought that having 16 Gigs of ram would make much of a difference. I always thought that 8 gigs of ram for any system would be enough. Back 15 years ago you could play games at decent FPS with only 4 Gigs of ram. Nowadays forget about it. This system has been put together for that type of customer who enjoys the functionality that Windows 10 can provide combined with the multitasking prowess that specially handpicked pieces of hardware can give .

I chose this laptop because I thought it was the best ratio quality/price. It is pretty heavy, so I don't suggest it for whoever travels a lot. Also, after 2 days it crashed and I had to reinstall Windows 10. Since that day, the touch screen never worked again, and it is a month I'm still trying to figure out how to fix it. However, it is a pretty well performing laptop.

This laptop is a BEAST! I've had it for a few months now and still don't know all of its features or use it to its full capacity. I do however use Adobe on it for my photography business, as well as everyday things like email, web browsing, etc. and it is lightning fast. I love that it has a CD/DVD drive, which is hard to find on laptops and makes it a bit heavier, but totally worth it.

This laptop has most everything needed for a small business, hardware-wise. The one area that could be MUCH better is the battery life. The battery dies very quickly when not turned on. It lasts for approximately 4 hours without a charge, but even fully charged, will not last a couple of days without plugging it in. Otherwise, it's a great machine.

I am extremely happy with my new laptop. Touchscreen is great, sound is great, has plenty of memory and is very fast.

I would have given it a 5 star but the new softtouch mouse pads are a pain in the button. I liked it MUCH better when you had dedicated buttons for left and right actions. I have adjusted and adjusted the settings but it doesn't work near as well as before. The slightest move makes your screen big, small, or HUGE that you are working on which is frankly a pain in the a__to deal with!!!! PLEASE HP GO BACK TO THE OLD ONE!!!!! Other than that it's an awesome computer. We ALWAYS buy HP but my last one didn't last two years and it just went blank one day. The one before that still works and I have had it for over 10 years but it runs hot ALL the time and THIS ONE IS COOL AS A CUCUMBER!!!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE that part!!!! I do wish you still got Microsoft Word on it without having to pay an annual fee now, but I know that wasn't HP's choice. :(

Absolutely pleased with the quality of the product. For my 1st personal computing experience it is outstanding. Wish I could say that it was the best platform for Windows 10 which has left me wanting. The HP rep at the store was knowledgeable and listened to my concerns. The most helpful employee I ever met at a Best Buy. This computer has all the features I would want and then some at 2/3 the price of supposedly better computers.

The Envy laptop works very well so far. My old HP laptop had two hinges, one of which broke. This led to the bottom unit breaking and popping open at the corner. I would get random bits of metal and plastic that would break and fall out. Then the fan ultimately stopped working, and the laptop would overheat within 10 minutes of use. The Envy has one long hinge instead of two little ones, so I am hoping I will not have that issue again. I do not feel a lot of heat produced by long use of the laptop either, and the fan is very quiet. Because this does not have a detachable screen, the touchscreen feature has not been very useful. I would not call this laptop lightweight, but it is not bulky. It is a very sleek design. The only complaints I would have about it is that the mouse pad does not have separate right and left buttons to make it easier to see and use. The other is that I have to keep the keyboard light off during the day because I cannot make out the keys with it on. It works great at night, but I usually like to keep it on all the time. Its not a big deal though.

Excellent laptop. Monitor quality is superb. Lots of memory and hard drive space. Still learning to use Windows 10. CD drive made loading programs painless.

I purchased this laptop for my wife for Christmas to replace a very slow laptop with an i3 processor. I limited my rating to four stars only because I've had a very short time with it. My impression so far is that it is very fast, well built, an excellent display and a very good buy. The CD/DVD drive allowed me to use existing software.

i love this size of this computer 17", and is super fast! the keyboard if big and i love the touch screen

This computer should take him through college! Plenty of speed for gaming and the occasional homework!

have no complaints at all. I love the backlit keyboard, and LOVE the lack of heat on underside of laptop. It is completely cool! I still use a lapboard due to using a mouse with laptop, but it is not needed. Love the large screen, and windows 10 is much more user friendly than windows 8 was.
