bought this over a month ago and love it. i upgraded immediately to a 480GB SSD that was on sale and now this thing races. love the 17" screen for "old" eyes to be able to see again...lol. i use the 1TB HDD that was originally installed as an external backup drive (bonus) and bought for that insigna case which also included the usb connection, can now backup anything. also had to purchase the Windows 10 OS for the SSD that cost around $120.00. i also purchased the 2 yr Geek Squad Protection Plan in case i have an accident such as dropping it, etc. Oh...Geek Squad also installed the SSD and other software. Thank you Jared and Denzil in Geek Squad.

I couldn't believe the cost of this laptop and the performance is fast. I'm loving the RealSense camera too

More than enough RAM, HD capacity, and screen view for my uses; well for my son. He mainly uses it for school, projects, and of course gaming. He loves that the screen is huge... Had to bump it down one star due to the battery life and the weight of it.

I love my new laptop. The screen is large enough that I don't need my reading glasses to see it. Also being a touch-screen allows me to just touch and it goes to wherever I want it to. I can use the mouse also but I don't have to scroll to get where I need to go. It is very easy. Envy is a good name for this computer because others can be envious and want all the benefits this contains!

Everything is good speed, gaming, And videos, just battery life needs improvement

I absolutely LOVE this laptop!!! While it is large and heavier compared to other popular laptops, this has everything I need including a disk drive (which was challenging to find with other aspects I wanted). I am so happy I selected this laptop and would recommend it to anyone!

Purchased as a "Deal of the Day" and saved about $300. My daughter bought the same machine last summer with Win 8.1 (now upgraded to Win 10) and she loves it . I have always been a Dell person but since I do the IT on our home computers, I became familiar with HP and liked it. Although I don't use the touch screen all that much it is an excellent feature to have. So when my 10 year old Dell laptop's drive bit the dust, I started lookin at, and comparing this machine and an equivalent Dell. This machine is loaded with RAM and dedicated graphics and the I7 processor so it flys. Hardly any bloatware pre installed. The price ended up being the determining factor in my decision in addition to our work computers being all HPs. I only hope it lasts as long as my Dell did. I know it has enough requirements to handle any future Microsoft upgrades for a while. It was replaced with a newer version, but for the price, and the little differences with the processor, it suits my needs perfectly.

I mostly bought this for the RAM, HD size, Screen Size, and dedicated graphics for the price (Bought on sale for $870). Not a big game.r., mostly do Microsoft Office stuff (i.e. spreadsheets, etc.) Occasional card games (solitaire etc). Have had for 3 weeks now. (Christmas present) Computer works fine except for sound. On start-up and randomly, there is a very loud staticy/hissing noise emited even when sound is muted. (it is not the fan - fan is very quiet) Reinstalled sound driver/ updated BIOS. No avail. Contacted HP support. They couldn't resolve so now i have to send computer to HP service. Don't know how that will go as they are in process of sending packing materials. At this time, would not recommend. If there wasn't the annoying sound, would give 4.5 stars (if possible). So far the only thing i wish it had was a SSD (and no extraneous noises!) Have not used the DVD yet.

The device was on a great sale so I bought it for my family member thinking it would make a great replacement computer especially since it was the same price for a Lenovo I originally wanted to buy. The graphics card although not too good was enough for my family member who was thinking on doing some light gaming on the new laptop. Overall everything went well originally but after a few days we were unable to get into the computer on a regular basis with simple passwords like 123456789 and then even after making an email and registering it with the account we still couldn't prevent this from happening again. Ultimately we contacted HP and found out that this model has a well known issue with bugs when it comes to the new Windows 10 software. After reading online I came to understand that this PC was not optimized by HP to run on windows 10 and so this problem was being patched slowly by them as it wasn't something that was actively happening to everyone. After downloading a fresh non-HP OS and using the laptops key to legitimize it I fixed the issue and removed all the bloatware. Now the laptop runs fine but it really irks me that HP hasn't stepped up their game since the Windows 8 days when it comes to optimizing the products they sell. Nothing bad to say on Bestbuy here just a bit of knowledge sharing when it comes to this particular product. I fully recommend buying it if you get it on sale as it runs well after fixing the issues and you will likely be luckier than me and will not get a buggy version, if you do just exchange it at the store.

This computer is a great value for the price. Downside: Best Buy allows HP to sell them computers with so much adware software that slows down the computer and allows a ridiculous amount of pop-up ads from the installed software that it is beyond annoying - you will want to throw this laptop out the window. If you know how to remove the unnecessary software or trust someone who can do it for you, this is a fast efficient machine, both for gaming, streaming and web browsing.

Fast, easy to operate, great for gaming. My daughter actually when out and purchased the same computer after operating mine, she enjoys gaming.

This has great speed and the pictures are so crisp on the screen. Everything I've been looking for!

I do a lot of photography, so needed a lot of space, great color and speed. This is perfect for me. I am more than pleased with my purchase.

Is an excenlent laptop, easy to set up, fast processor and very easy to use. I love the 17.3 inch touch screen. The display is bright and colorful. The Intel core i7 processor is very fast and the keyboard is easy to read. The touch pad is a bit sensitive. The built in speakers work well. The only issue is that it doesn't has a caps lock indicator light.

The HP ENVY laptop is excellent. Lots of memory and speed. Just received it and hard to tell the overall performance but so far so good!

The computer runs like a dream. Doesn't really overheat unless your using it for heavy gaming but that's expected considering it's not a gaming laptop. The touchscreen is a nice little thing if you don't have a mouse and need bigger movements than the TouchPad would allow. Overall I'd say it's well worth the money and is definitely the right computer if you need a good laptop that's not necessarily a gaming build.

screen size, speed and capability make this an excellent laptop for almost any application

The PC works fine. I love the touch screen. Software was a problem, however. I had a great deal of trouble getting Windows 10 and Explorer to work together. It took two conversations with MSN support and Windows support over he course of a week to get email and other MSN features to work.

I've always used Dells or Gateways, but recently had HP in the office. Since Gateway has been bought out and Dell doesn't give much flexibility in ordering, decided to try HP. Best Buy had this one set up just like I wanted and with a 17" HD screen. Only had a few weeks on it, but love the speed and the color and clarity of the screen. Only downside, as with all others is the bloatware disease they have to put on them. Just takes more time to clean house before using. So far though, great computer.

I am still learning this computer but it is very nice and lots of fun. I was not sure how I would like the touch screen but it is awesome. It is quick and very responsive. The quality of the screen is amazing, photos look wonderful. It is so clear, crisp, and the colors are so vibrant. I bought this mainly because of my hobby of photography and I know I will really enjoy it for a long time.
