Excellent Desktop Replacement Laptop :)
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am an IT professional and YouTube "reviewer" with laptops. I brought home this machine and I have to say I love what I got for the money. Up to date specs all-around-core i7 skylake, 16 gigs of ram great for multitasking and 940m Nvidia graphics (2gb) for graphic intensive task/s. Love the cool features like the 17 inch touch screen (full 1080p) and intel real sense 3d camera. For a more comprehensive review of this computer check out the link below! I recommend this product to any power user looking for a solid machine with great specs and performance. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eZXFXit5UiQ

Great...but the battery sucks.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My computer is great, graphics and touch screen work well. The sound system sounds smooth but compared to the old beats by dre you can hear a huge difference, but still worth every penny. The battery runs a good 2 1\2 to 3 hours on constant use. I found myself having to find charging spots more than usual but the elegance and overall look to this computer is amazing and I would definitely recommend making this purchase.

Amazing
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Machine is fast ,sound is awsome. Using as desktop replacement and laptop. Edge brouser is also neat! But you can use Explorer if you want. This machine is the best on the market. If it was a 2&1 it would be the best in the world. I purchased for $1,000.00 then Best buy had on sale one week later for $869.00, got credit! What a deal. So happy!

Great Computer!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It has plenty of processing power and storage capacity. Love all the amenities included. It has lasted me all these years. I will say though the battery life was not all that great from the start and has suffered over the years and not being upgradable is a slight downside but other than that I love it and will until I can’t keep it running anymore!!

Wonderful and powerful for the price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop is very powerful for the price of about $900. Similar laptops will easily exceed $1100, so you save at least $200. If you are a graduate student who run one or two heavy software like ArcGIS or SAS, and your school is only providing a stone age computer in your office, then this laptop is perfect for you.. You might find a better laptop but then you will need to spend minimum of $200 - 300 more and the difference in capabilities does not worth the extra money. If you buy it with BestBuy credit card you can call the card customer service and they might finance it at 0% APR for 24 months. If you buy this laptop don't forget to buy a screen protector, skin cover, and keyboard cover in order to keep it clean and in a good shape. Moreover, this laptop deserve a good quality laptop case.

Faster than previous laptops
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop is much faster then my previous laptops. there's plenty of power to browse the web, previous laptops would work good, but sometimes, the web page would slow down. This laptop doesn't do that. has the latest intel processor, 16 gb memory and bluetooth. i like that. the only issue, i've come across, the display driver has stopped a few times. i haven't called hp yet, due to time constraints. it's a very minor issue. I also, like the keys, the feel really nice when typing. recommend anybody buy this laptop.

Power for the Price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.NOTE: I would rate this as 5 except for the slow SATA HD. This is a lot of power for the price; however, as suggested by most reviewers, I recommend swapping out the HD with a Solid State Drive. I used the SanDisk Ultra II 480GB. Now the computer is super quiet as well as super fast. All drivers and software are located on the HP site for quick and easy downloading and installation.

Well made HP Envy M7-N109DX Notebook
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Out of the box, I encountered error during the easy setup. The camera would not turn on during face login and error on graphics card notification shows up. Once I updated Windows 10 and HP device drivers via HP support assistant which took some time to accomplish then the machine starts to run smoothly. The face login is pretty accurate and fast. Cold start up to a working desktop takes about 39.09 seconds with face login based on applications I have installed. Restart process however is a bit slow, it takes around 2 minutes and 07 seconds to get to a working desktop (This is just Windows 10 process and the built in HD 5400 RPM does not help either). No need to restart if you can just shutdown or hibernate so it will be quicker to boot when you turn on the machine. All 4 USB ports and SD card Drive are operational which connect USB devices easily while the SD card drive can accommodate just about any SD card brand I inserted. The Intel wireless Bluetooth works very well with my phone (transfer data to/from phone wirelessly). Bluetooth pairs easily with Harman Kardon portable Bluetooth speaker. The DVD drive is a plus (a lot of newer laptops do not have DVD drive), the HD resolution is pretty good when watching DVD movie on a 17.3" screen. BANG & OLUFSEN Speaker outputs amazing sound, rich audio, loud enough and deep bass. The touch screen and touch pad are pretty responsive compared to a traditional wireless mouse (I use all - mouse, touch pad and touch screen). The battery seems to last 3 hours or less. It can be adjusted to last a little longer by balancing energy consumption with performance. The Intel dual band wireless-AC 7265 connects instantly with my several years old WIFI router. As of this writing, I have not tested the built in Gigabit Ethernet LAN port because my WIFI always works. I have not tested the Built-in Intel® RealSense™ 3D camera. According to specification, Gesture control allows you to scroll through Web pages, play games and open apps without touching the laptop. Sounds pretty good. I have not tested the HDMI as well since I do not necessarily stream movies like my daughter does. The warranty is one year limited parts and labor. I had to correct the warranty record of HP based on my purchase date. The HP support assistant indicated a date earlier than my purchase date so I disputed it with HP and they corrected the date. Overall, it is a stable machine and I hope it will last more than 5 years.

Great so far!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I originally ordered this product online. When it arrived, the display wasn't functioning correctly. I had to drive to the nearest Best Buy who had it in stock, which was an hour each way in the car with rush hour traffic. It's too bad I'll never get that time or money for fuel back. The even exchange was seamless and the laptop itself is quite lovely. Everything about it is great. It charges quickly, holds a charge much longer than my old laptop, graphics and colors are fabulous. The sound is amazing!!! Well worth the money spent. I am quite pleased.

Awesome for music production
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this laptop because the Toshiba I was using for my music production just wasn't powerful enough to handle the workload of the DAW I have(Studio One) once I start applying VSts, effects, ect. The Toshiba would get really sluggish and start gliching with only a couple of effects applied. Started doing some research and determined I needed a laptop with an i7 processor and I ran across this baby!!!... This is one of the most powerful laptops I have ever encountered. Not to mention it has 16GB and 1TB of storage. My DAW runs flawlessly with tons of effects applied to different tracks. I can now also browse the web and have Studio One open at the same time. I couldn't do this before on the Toshiba because it would overload the processer. My production also sounds more powerful now that everything is running flawlessly. THIS LAPTOP IS AWESOME!!!!!!!

HI
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This computer is great for price and performance is very nice. Few down sides are the battery is 2 to 3 hours and is too weak and also bad quality mouse pad, cd rom will make noise and hard drive is 5400rpm. Also if somebody don't want heavy computer don't buy bec this is 7 lb exactly.

Good features for the price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good features (all described, nothing hide) for the price (Best Buy website makes easy to compare specifications between products). Nice keyboard, screen and resolution. I tested it for a couple of days and so far, it works well. I bought it at Watertown Store with the assistance of Michael, the “Windows” guy. I was very well impressed by this seller, an excellently prepared and honest person. I recommend the three of them, the computer, the Company and the vendor.

Great Computer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Fast and very capable computer. Plenty of RAM and a huge hard drive. And the Core i7 processor is fast. Satisfies all my needs. Negatives, a bit heavy and big. But with the big comes a huge screen which is wonderful. Another tough thing is the back-lighted keyboard does not work well with silver keys. Would have been better with black keys. Still strongly suggest getting one.

Great Laptop
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is an awesome laptop but it is heavy. I bought this because of the big screen, fast processing, touchscreen, Backlit keyboard,3D camera,Dvd/Cd burner and so much more. It has fulfilled all my expectations.

Nice machine
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was looking for a laptop with power to spare, and after sorting through specs and reviews for a month or so, settled on the HP Envy. I've owned HP products in the past with mostly favorable results, but this has exceeded my expectations. Although price was not the top priority in my search, there was nothing close when comparing specifications side-by-side. I've been using it for light to medium video editing as well as mid-level gaming and the dedicated graphics are more than up to the task. Having 16gig of RAM was a hook for me and the 1TB HDD is a nice plus. It has ample ports for expansion too. I'd think it would be difficult to find a better machine for the price.

Buy this laptop
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this laptop. I’ve been looking for a new laptop for about 6 weeks because my old laptop was just really annoying. I’m a college student and I’m on my laptop 24/7. So I needed something that could do everything that I needed for school and also for my social life. I’m also getting deployed soon so I wanted something that I could watch movies on. The speakers are really loud and can be easily heard from across the room. The screen is really crisp and sharp. The only con for this laptop is the battery it seems to drain fast but as long as you keep the brightness down it’ll stay on for about 9 hours.

Hit or miss depending on the consumer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My one week review. Bought on 4/20/16 for $817. Good specs for the price.. Pros: Screen quality is great and BRIGHT.. Very fast. Speakers are as good as you can find in a laptop (after adding mid highs with the included eq.) Cons: NOISY HARD DRIVE!! I would rate this a "4" if I didn't hear the scratchy sound of the drive spinning ALL THE TIME. This is only heard in a quiet environment.. I returned my Envy to Best Buy because I thought there was something wrong but my replacement still sounded like a hamster running on a rusty wheel. The back lit keyboard is useless unless you are directly hovering over it.. Keys are sometimes unresponsive unless you are pressing very hard. The space bar is rarely works when tapping the outer edges. Track pad is shady as well with no separate left and right click pads. Facial recognition doesn't work. Overall, this is a powerful laptop for my music and video editing needs but power is all you get. It's like putting a V8 motor in a GoKart shell. -meh
