Snatched this up when it went on sale and it's by far the best bang for the buck out there. 16GB of RAM, and this is a fast machine. I've been encoding MP4 files for the last few days and it's speed is impressive. Great for multi-tasking. Managing my NAS while the encoding is going, as well as several web browsers open and Adobe lightroom indexing all at the same time. No slow down here. Slightly underwhelmed by the sound of the speakers. Was expecting a bit more from the 'B&O' branding. Not a lot of bass coming though while streaming Google music, and the equalizer didn't help much. Love the lighted keyboard. Getting used to the 'softer' key touch, coming from a Thinkpad, but I'll get over that. It's a heavy beast, but it's a gorgeous screen and a darn fast machine. No regrets on this purchase at all.

Being older I need a larger screen to read e-mail and do my on line teaching. I have the 34"Envy desktop and I have an HP laptop. Both of which have performed flawlessly over time..I also bought the larger screen because my wife and I spend six weeks in Aruba every winter and really enjoy watching all of our shows that we cannot watch during the year on Netflix or Amazon. The HD capability is outstanding.The ability to use the stylus to adjust my lecture notes saves me a considerable amount of time. I absolutely love this product! Far superior to tubes and keypunch machines!

Got a great price as an open box item for a powerful laptop. Great screen. Not crazy about Windows 10 not the overly touchy HP TouchPad, which needs an upgraded control center for better adjustability. Touchy mouse movements tends to hit pop ups while on internet causing undesired opening of adds. If not for the great price, I might have returned this computer. I figure that I will adjust rather than the limited adjustments of the TouchPad.

Find myself going back to school; I wanted a laptop dedicated for just that. HP makes solid laptops; this is no exception. Nice, big screen, backlit keyboard so I'm not straining my eyes; plenty of storage space; and, most of all, it should stand up to the usage I'm putting it through.

This is my first laptop it a little heavier then expected so it good that I'm not carrying it around but I do love the speed and the features

Pros: Big 17' screen, DVD drive, durable aluminum casing, 1TB hard drive, I7 8th gen processor, lighted keyboard, 10Key, Got it on sale for $949.99. Cons: Slow, very Heavy Laptop, battery is internal so you will have to take the laptop apart to replace it and currently gives me about 3 hours of use on each charge. Overall I really like this laptop. I replaced the 1TB hard drive with a 1TB Samsung Evo 860 SSD and it runs very fast now. This laptop has everything now except for portability and weight but I can deal with that because I don't travel much with my laptop and it has about all I could possibly want in a laptop. It is a touch screen but does not fold back into Tablet form.

I prefer 17 in screens on my laptops and this one is crisp and sharp. The keys are backlighted and have a solid feel. The CPU is blazing fast and runs cool. It has a Terabyte drive and plenty of memory. The whole laptop is slim and good looking. HP makes good quality laptops and I thought it was a great buy.

This is my first laptop, after always using a desktop computer. Obviously there are new techniques to learn, keyboard mouse,etc, but it is quick and powerful. I purchased this because of ergonomics, needing to stand while using the keyboard instead of sitting. Now it turns out my wife and I both prefer it over our desktop computer. We also like having touchscreen options while using it.

This setup was great for me, I was replacing an old 15" HP Touch and knew I wanted the touch again. This is mainly for my schoolwork. Works great and battery life is about what they claim. Iverall very good computer!

I am EXTREMELY happy with this HP laptop. It has everything I need and more especially for the price. I love the screen size, and the speed. If you are looking for a laptop, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this model.

I am still getting acquainted with my purchase. However, I am impressed from the getup: nice speed, graphics, touch screen, love the definition when looking at pictures to see the details on a job. Perfect office on the go!

My old HP died and I replaced it with another HP laptop. It was a very easy change. The Greek Squad took my old computer and transferred everything to my new computer. Also I use the Greek Squad to keep all my computers up and running. Worth every penny it cost.

Has a great big screen for working on my embroidery software. I can see what I need to see, plus it still has a built in CD player.

Has a backlit keyboard that can but turned on and off at will which is a nice feature. Works flawlessly and is super fast. Just as good as a nice desktop. A bit more then I wanted to spend, but I feel it's worth it.

I gave my college student my old one. This is a substantial laptop. No plastic here. I love the touch screen feature and backlight keyboard!

This is a great laptop with a 17in screen. I was not sure I wanted to pay that much for a laptop but watched the sales after my purchase and received the sale price at a later date. It is lighter than I thought it would be. Everything I wanted. Love, love, love it.

Great laptop for someone who needs a large screen. Love that there is a onboard CD. HP is great brand.
