This laptop was nice looking and I liked how slim and light it was. The keyboard was also nice to type on. However, the laptop got WAY TOO HOT while doing basic functions. Too hot to touch. I had to return it at that point and get a laptop with a better cooling system.

Perfection from HP and AMD

Excellent laptop for multiple purposes! I used it for managing my twitch streams, attending online college classes, drawing, coding/programming with android studio, managing a business that i had started with the same laptop, and using FL studio to try my hand at making music in a whole new way! At one point my son stood on it (he was around 6-7 years old it was closed but on the living room floor after falling from my recliner I worked in) screen started to try and pop out from the corners occasionally but a light pressure put it back into place with no damages to the touchscreen or the frame around it. Purchased in 2017 and was still using it religiously without any problems at all up until i lost it to a pawn shop in 2023! Grab it for college kids business professionals art/design of any kind and the AMD FX 2.7Ghz (base) processor was hard to slow down.

This computer makes soooo much noise when it's running I have to shut it down just to get some peace. Makes me crazy, I didn't use it a lot when I first got it so I didn't realize how noisy it was or I would have returned it for a different model.

Initially liked this unit very well. However, the unit experienced a hardware failure and would not power-on within only a few weeks after purchase. Returning unit to HP under warranty for repair. May provide a higher rating after repair resolution.

I really liked everything that was included with this laptop, and that I could use it as a tablet, but both laptops had a fair amount of light leakage on the edges when there was a dark screen. It would also randomly restart on me.

I can't do the simplest task without this thing lagging. I was told the amd processor is inbetween i5 and i7. I can't even type half the time without waiting 3 or 4 seconds for it to pop up on the screen. Amazingly disappointing

I bought this computer for school; to do homework, check emails, write papers, etc. Three days after I buy this computer, while doing homework, it cut off on me. I didn't think too much of it. A week later it did the same thing. I than start to wonder what's going on so i simply just restart it. Then another week goes by and I'm taking a quiz and it does it again! Needless to say I failed the quiz. I take it back to best buy to exchange it and they tell me they it's not on there policy. It had only been three weeks and they can't exchange it. To make it simple, save your time and money.

Over heats so bad it shuts down on its own, can't play basic games without glitching like it's running on windows 98 and way too expensive for what you get.

I have had this for almost 2 months and I'm not happy with it. I explained to the associate what I needed it for and he said this would be perfect. Unfortunately it is not at all what he said. It freezes up all the time and I haven't even added Microsoft office or any other programs yet. I wish I could take it back and get something else!

Many Problems

First of all I'm a very experienced PC user. This particular laptop presented problems from day one. Have spent a total of 7 hours with tech support on three different occasions, resetting to "out of box" 3 times. Even after all the help the screen at random times will start fluttering and require a hard reset. HP even had me remove the McAfee that came with the PC. He said I should only use Windows Defender!
After 2 weeks trying to make this laptop work properly I returned it and purchased an Intel based PC. Have not had a problem with the replacement.

I do not like the fact that the monitor is a mirror. Unless you're in the dark, you will be seeing reflections of yourself and everything behind you. Other than that, it's an OK laptop for the price.

TERRIBLE COMPUTER - DO NOT BUY

This is an awful computer! Has a major flaw - it won't connect via wifi. Something is wrong with the driver on these computers. Best Buy was great. I brought it back the next day and they tried to fix, but nothing worked. Also, they gave me another brand new computer, same model, and it also has the same problem with the driver and wifi. They fully refunded the purchase I was able to get another computer. I went with ASUS as they had good reviews and HP has gone down in the last several years in computers.

This laptop is pretty good. I bought it for light gaming, school, and general usage. First before I go into details, let me tell you that this laptop runs slow when you first start using it. So I bought it, turned it on, got it set up and then went onto the browser and started testing it. It ran slow. So I tested it with some other stuff, like downloading my game: Overwatch. Very slow download.
But after a day or so, it speed up, and now it runs fast. So that's why I gave it 4 stars. Anyway, onto the gaming part. So I play some steam games, but mostly Overwatch. So for all of those who play Overwatch, it can be run on here.
I play it on low settings at 30 fps graphics at 75%. It runs fine, hardly ever lags. Haven't tested it on higher settings cause I saw no reason to.(I'm pretty sure this can run other games like Overwatch too.) Now the computer itself. The 8gb ram is plenty for me, the 1tb hard drive holds plenty of space, but with a big enough SSD drive, you can make it better, while having enough storage.
The touchscreen is responsive, the 2-in-1 is nice. Backlit keyboard I love! (It lights up purple.) Doesn't have a DVD/CD drive, but I don't really need that. Keyboard is nice to type on, has 2 ways of adjusting the volume. One way is a long button on the side, and the other is the buttons on the keyboard.
Hadn't tested the HDMI connection yet. Oh, and I had a problem when the sound stopped working. You just have to do a trouble shoot with devices and hardware. Battery life is ok, lasts about 3 hours with general stuff. (I always game plugged in.)
To conclude, this laptop is nearly perfect for my needs, I would like better battery life. If you're unsure of buying this, buy this. :)
