So far this product is very nice , looks brand new and been running smoothly. Haven't used it too much yet , that's why I gave it only 4 stars and only reason I didn't give it 5 stars . Very pleased

When we received the computer and first tried to power it up, there was a function key permanently stuck. Expecting lots of problems, I went to my local Best Buy and to my surprise, they replaced it with a new one and a sincere apology. All this during the Christmas rush. I am a Best Buyer fan for life

Configuration is a little weird. I guess that's due to Windows 10. But the buttons seem hard to use. Like the track pad on the computer is a little hard to press. Doesn't feel as natural.

Bought for my 10 year old daughter so she could do her homework, check out her favorite youtube cooking videos and take her SIMS off of my computer. It's nice, fast, fully loaded and looks brand new. She's in heaven.

I bought this as a refurbished item. It was a present for my daughter. Set it all up for her and then when downloading the necessary Windows 10 updates I noticed it was taking a really long time. Doing a speed test I noticed my wifi connection at home was close to 1-2Mbps. I have 4 other PCs at home and they all connect to the same router at 25-30Mbps each! So the problem was this PC. When I took it back to Best Buy I mentioned that this was a refurbished item. And that it had been brought back for a reason. Now I know why.

The internet connection is a little slow but acceptable considering the price but dvds won't run even after downloading software and I can't get a working connection to my printer wireless or not. I later noticed that this pc was an open box product at a reduced price but I was charged full price. It was noted on the bottom of the box where it was less easily seen by either me or the sales person,

Decent laptop if you're just browsing webpages

I needed just a simple laptop to take on the go for my business (for estimates and invoices) so I chose this HP. I've always liked smaller screen such as 13.1 average, but needed around a 15" at least, just for the shear fact of having a separate number pad from the standard keyboard. One of the issues I personally don't like is not having a back-lit keyboard.. It's very hard to see if you're not in a well lighted area. Another issue is, regardless of knowing before buying that it only comes with 4gb of ram, It freezes and is slow as sin when trying to do multiple things at once; (browsing webpages while running Microsoft Excel just makes this thing bog way down and overwhelms the ram (as do most but this one hits hard)). I have owned many laptops over the years and still actively use around 8 at the moment including Apple and Windows based computers, 4gb runs well on other laptops I use except for this one. On the plus side, It is very durable and still gets the job done. I'd say for $250, it's not too bad of a product for the money, therefore I personally give this laptop a 3 star review.

Refurbished by Geek Squad--Failed within Hours

This is the third Windows 10 machine to fail within just days or hours of initiating the first boot. I am an experienced Windows repair person and the failures seem to be systemic. I do not recommend using any pc laptop that has less than 8 GB if Windows is installed. That said, for some reason the network failed after setting up a restore point. After rebooting and attempting to create a recovery disc the OS simply started to malfunction across the board. HP support and recovery application systematically delivered only "Script Errors" and failed to launch. Later, attempts to erase the HDD and reinstall the OS from the recovery partition (MicroSoft Win 10 Recovery partition on HDD) also produced only "Unable to process system recovery" messages.
The main issue is clearly related to Windows 10 and until MS fixes the OS problems I would stay away. I am also disappointed in the quick failure of a "certified Geek Squad refurbished pc".
