Great printer till it breaks.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this printer as a replacement for the exact same printer because I had just spent $$$$$ on new ink cartridges, however this time I bought an extended warranty for the printer. The original printer died after 16 months of use as a home office printer - just out of warranty. When the original printer broke I took it to an authorized HP repair shop and was informed that HP does not stock replacement parts for their inkjets (yes - even their heavy duty commercial ones) instead they expect these units to have a product life of 5 years and then when they die they are to be replaced. As not having near 5 years I assumed I would talk to a customer service representative about this problem. After many calls and disconnects, I was finally connected to their call center in Costa Rica and was informed that there was no way to get in touch with Customer Service. In fact, if Technical Support deemed the problem worthy they would write up a report and forward it to Customer Support and if Customer Support felt it worthy they would in turn get in touch with me. I am still waiting. Currently I own a HP Laptop - never again. My company owns 3 additional HP Printers (obviously will be changing with other than HP as they die). This new printer once the ink cartridges run out this printer becomes a boat anchor. If I can not talk to a Customer Service Rep. I refuse to have anything to do with the company and I strongly recommend you do the same because when you have a problem it would be really nice to talk to someone who seems to care about you and their product. As such, do I recommend this product: "NO" both from the standpoint of the product itself and more importantly from the support offered by the company (HP) for the product. Furthermore given the inability to reach a Customer Service Rep. in this day and age shows a total disrespect for their clients and brings into question as to why anyone would want to buy their products and/or their services.

Got the run around but not a working printer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Our previous printer was the same exact model. Because we liked it for our business we wanted the same one when our original broke. I called the Sioux City Best Buy and after being on hold for several minutes the girl said they had three on hand. I drove the hour to the Sioux City Best Buy. The nice gentlemen there explained that the girl on the phone was new and confused. They did not have any of those models on hand, but Sioux Falls had three. He said he could get it shipped to the store. Because our business requires we do all of our printing we did not have time to wait for it to be shipped in. I drove to Sioux Falls that night (missing my sons ball game). Also Iowa and South Dakota were flooded making travel very difficult. 2:30 in the morning, after 9 hours on the road I was home with the printer that I was suppose to pick up the day before. Had the girl on the phone said No, but Sioux Falls does, I would have went there first eliminating 3 hours. In the morning when the printer was plugged in it was discovered that it had a "manufactures defect". The Geek Squad suggested we return it. This time it was my husbands turn to miss a ball game. He traveled 6 hours through the flood to return the printer and get a replacement. When he got home it was discovered that this printer had the same issue. Once again Geek Squad requested our return to Sioux Falls to exchange it. Instead I returned the item to the Sioux City Store and bought the replacement at Staples. That model has been great.

Done with HP
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So many problems with this, I am done with HP now! Each morning for my first print of the day it would make noise and then the driver would say it could not communicate with the printer. I would try to print the exact same thing and it was fine. Scanning to the PC worked sometimes, always worked to a NAS device I have. Scanner sheet feeder pulls paper in a bit skewed to one side. As a die hard HP fan for 20+ years and more printers from them then I could remotely count at various companies I give up. The last few had problems so I am looking for something else.

Inks system leaks often
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got one 13 months ago, HP gave me a new printer because the ink system spilled the ink after 6 months of use ($120.00 ink) and messed up the printer , the replacement printer spilled a new expensive ink after 4 months of use ( it had a 3 month warranty), HP wants $400.00 to fix it now, which probably will spill the $120.00 ink in 3-4 months. I hope the new versions of these printers had improve the ink system, from now one I will buy only Laser jet printer.
