Customers are saying

Customers are positive about the laptop's performance, design, and speed, with many praising its smooth gaming capabilities and sleek aesthetics. However, customers are negative about the battery life and fan noise, citing these as significant drawbacks. Some users also reported issues with screen quality and heat generation. Overall, the positive aspects of performance and design seem to outweigh the negative feedback regarding battery life and other minor issues for many users.

    HP deserves some attention

Bang for buck, this HP offers very competitive hardware for the price compared to big names such as Razer, MSI, and the like. My first device had a few (but very noticeable) dead pixels on the screen that I thought I could ignore, but in reality, I could not put up with the small discolored pixels. Best Buy honored the factory damage and sent me another laptop promptly. The new laptop is great and can handle any current game available today without issue. The off AC-power performance is laughably low, but plugged in you can get 120+fps on every game at max or just below max graphical settings. The fans are much quieter than some of the G-based or Alienware Dells, and MSI's that I've heard in person. HP did a great job on the thermals and the overall build quality is great. The size of the laptop is minimal and very portable and the AC adapter is not egregiously large like most other gaming laptops I've seen out there. The keyboard layout is great but the keyboard feel and responsiveness aren't close to a good mechanical. This laptop has technology for 4k 120hz with its HDMI 2.1 out which is great for future application and useability. HP has my support and I have been won over by the capabilities of this machine.

Impressive little machine. Super fast, great for gaming. Although the GPU will only use up to 90 watts on the RTX 3070, it games like a champ. Pros: Sleek, light, fast, powerful, affordable. Cons: Not full TDP for 3070, small SSD (just added 1TB to it's expansion slot), 16gb of memory doesn't cut it for me and will be upgrading that also.

Manufacturing mistake or fixable error ?

Pros - Bright & Colorful screen, Really nice keys, quite fast when doing minor browsing and watching videos. Cons - Can get load(expected from a 3070 mobile ver), Thermal(Intel thing which is respectable), *DRIVERS ISSUE* I'm prob one of the unlucky person who bought this with a manufacturing error. First time I boot the thing, everything seems to be running all well and smoothly, I tried installing games to test the benchmark and all that but, the first ever game I opened gave me an error about the drivers. I tried installing the latest drivers and still no luck. Tried DDU to uninstall hoping that it'll work but, still no luck. IF anyone is willing to help me out with the issue just leave a feedback about this issue I'm having. Sorry for my poor English grammar.

Excellent performance, easily upgradeable storage and ram. The cooling can get loud at full tilt but it rarely ever needs all of it's cooling potential during normal gaming. The 3070 is almost too much for a 1080p display, but with Ray Tracing on the fps hit is minimal and it looks great. Would prefer if the display was 1440p but it's good enough.

This great for ANY task. Build quality is good but not great (hinge not too good). The specs are so good for the money I had to drive for 2 hours to get this at a Best Buy in stock. I have used it intensely for more than a week now, I came to the verdict that a laptop 3070 is amazing and I can only imagine what the desktop version is like. Raytracing is reaching a stage where the results are actually worth the few fps less. Bloatware is average I spent like an hour optimizing, deleting, and updating software. IMPORTANT INFO this laptop is an 80watt model and can boost to 100watts via game boost on Omen software. Laptop rtx 3070 can get to a max 135watts I believe, so there are BETTER 3070 laptops out there possibly better price as well. I saw this go for sale 150 dollars and I'm so jealous I did not wait.

Paid 1649 for my unit. The 3070 that comes with it is pretty good. I max out fps on my 165hertz monitor. Laptop plays all games that I throw at it. So on the short...if you can buy it for 1650 or less. Get it!

    Don't Buy

TLDR: Waste of money. Do not get this laptop. I haven't been on the Best Buy website since I bought this laptop 2 years ago and I reset my password solely to write this review. I'm writing this after trying to start up Fortnite for the 3rd time in a row to play with friends. Warzone is a lost cause so I don't bother anymore. Despite being a 3070, it crashes for every shooter Ive played with rendering device issues. From graphic intensive games (Cod) to low spec games (Valorant, Overwatch, etc), something is wrong with the laptop or the graphics card. I have tried everything messing with the settings, to reverting settings, to new drivers and nothing changes. This laptop gets too hot to play so bad cooling. The only way to "fix" these crashes is to hard restart the pc and it gets frustrating. Terrible QC from HP. Terrible software. The only good thing about this laptop is that it can still browse the internet (for now), but at that point just get something else that's cheaper. Anything else.

I was so excited to have this Omen. I purchased it "open box" to save money and it clearly needed to be overhauled from previous owner. Battery wouldn't last 1 hour when fully charged, keyboard was damaged (spacebar didn't work 100%), there were other issues as well. Very disappointing that Best Buy didn't check it out before they resold it. Had to wait a month to get it back. Motherboard was replaced, among other things. Probably won't do that again.

Ill give it 4 stars because the performance its really accurate with my expectations, although the noise that make when it is using its unbearable, if you want to use it to gaming with headphones and nobody will be around you, then will be perfect laptop to used, in my case y use it for 3d design and son data compute analysis and the sound the fans produced it not user friendly. Ill recommend it just for gaming with headphones.

I bought open box, “excellent condition”. It has a dead pixel, which is hardly noticeable considering the pixels are tiny. It is a great gaming laptop with surprising good performance from a laptop rtx 3070. Note the screen housing is extremely flimsy; but unless it is being thrown around in a backpack, It shouldn’t be too much of an issue

This is an amazing laptop. Replacing an old gaming laptop with this one. Great upgrade worth the extra money for the RTX 3070. Battery life is low if you keep the 300hz on, if you lower to 60hz battery life gets much better. Having a 2nd NVME slot is great, installed a 2tb stick. I only wish this laptop had a number pad on the right, but other than that it is everything I wanted.

Amazing! This was the cheapest laptop I could find with a RTX 3070 Graphics card and boy it doesn’t disappoint. The display is beautiful, the RGB keyboard is vibrant and it runs so smooth. The internals stay cool all day and never run hot. Worth all the money spent
