Decent Performer, but Power Limited

This is a good computer overall but the power limits put in place by HP prevent it from reaching its full potential. The Ryzen 9 5900x is choked by the power delivery on the motherboard and artificial bios locks to prevent full performance settings. You can't even get the RAM to run at full speed unless you download and use the HP Omen software, otherwise, it runs at a slower clock. In general, this is just poor practice on HP's part, they intentionally chose to put powerful parts in this PC and then restrict their performance. If you're going to pick this up; wait for a sale, replace the 800w PSU with a 1000w, and upgrade the 240mm AIO to a 360mm. I have made these upgrades to my own and it now performs very well and I was able to overclock my CPU too.

So I've had a number of days to put this machine through its paces and I am happy with what I've seen thus far. While this is more than I wanted to spend on a new PC, the main feature here, the CryoChamber, definitely delivers. Temps on the 5900x at sustained full loads haven't budged much above the mid 60s. The 3080ti with curve and 500+ mem OC sees sustained temps in the mid 70s, which is great.
The 5900x looks to be running at full capability, CPUZ, Geekbench 5 and Cinebench R23 benchmarks are all above average for this chip. The bios is completely locked down, so any OCing needs to be done through Ryzen Master, which can only take you so far. Seeing all core speeds of 4.75 and singlecore at a touch above 5.0.
On the gaming front, as expected this thing has had no problems with anything I have thrown at it, Forza, Halo, GoW, HLL, all running at high fps in 4k. Looking forward to seeing how it runs the racing rig with VR, ACC had been a little too much for my last machine.
Overall, I am happy with the unit. Again, a little pricey, compared to other gaming PCs on BB, but an overheated cpu can ruin the experience, and that is something I have piece of mind to. I wish it came with more storage space, but a 10 tb 7,200 drive will suffice for my Gamepass and Steam games for now.

Good price to performance gaming rig

Good price to performance ratio. Gets you a 3089Ti at time when they're still hard to buy. Case has plenty of space and cooling. My only complaint is that the lighting for the cooler was dead out of the box for me. They've offered to repair it, but I'd have to ship off my computer, which I have no interest in doing. Dell sent a tech on site for warranty repairs for my Alienware laptop, so shipping it off seems kind of lame.
