the Best Buy rep said we should look to get an i7 (Intel) for a decent speed at a reasonable price. He has correct, this laptop is fast with internet connections and very reliable. Works great for us!

I like how big it is. What i don't like is that I am not good at using the new windows and it's just hard for me to navigate.

I am happy with the size of the screen and the speed of the computer on start up and web sites, Good value for the price

I was looking to upgrade from my old HP laptop and found this one. It has worked well for what I need it for.

This product could be improved this is my second Pavillion and I am much disappointed it lacks a Blue Ray DVD player,. No Sticky notes for 8 version operating system. The games are awful where or who decided on these why are we going all over the place on line to download basic card games. The solitare card game cheats and cannot keep a good score it has a hidden score the computer is cheating. The Geek Internet software is great and you get a physical assistance instead of some computer talking to you.No intro to miicrosoft office products.You have to buy separate or download using a credit card.

Great price for performance. This notebook has a lot of processing power and a great large screen.

I have had no problems with this computer. I really like the 17" screen and that limits a lot of the laptops.

For a computer of this size (i7...) very poor. Keyboard feels loose. HP not a good product.

Strong build, feels sturdy, its a pavilion, has an i7 which comes mostly in laptops costing $1K. Nice and quiet, can play a few games, its quite fast.

Met most of my expectations. Really like the screen size. Wish it had an extra USB port.

I love this laptop overall, and it's a great value. I don't really enjoy how it's not that easy to open though, it can be a struggle to open the case. Setting up the laptop was pretty easy, but took a while. It was also harder to figure out how to update to Windows 10 than I would have liked. Only minor problems though.

I am enjoying my new HP computer. He has everything I needed and is very easy to use.

I like the large screen and keyboard.It is the ideal size and I have a great deal of trust in the HP brand.I believe this to be a quality laptop.

I bought this HP Laptop because my older HP laptop was having issues. I did not want to compromise for a smaller screen. A 17" laptop is a huge screen though resolution wise its only 1600x900, but its still plenty to write programs on. When I bought this new laptop, my old one started to behave itself (it always happens) but I kept this one as its much faster. The Core i7 is a dual core with hyper threading (4 threads in total), so its more like a Core i5 or new generation i3 but with more onboard chip cache and better features and faster. Ultimately the i7 processor is a beast. Its fast, quiet in processing and a good match to this laptop (my old one has an AMD A4-3300M) Pro's: Fast processor with enough power to get things done. Great screen (though a TN, but not very good for color accuracy for graphics work) Amazing sound from onboard speakers. Very quiet and cool running Cons: Heavy mofo (its 6 pounds without the battery) trackpad does not have an on/off switch No lighted keys for numlock or wifi controls (available on my old HP) No way to easily upgrade Hard Drive or RAM Wifi issues. Talking about Wifi Issues: Seems this laptop has wifi issues when its running on battery. It is extremely slow running, but only the AC power it immediately picks up speed. Seems the chipset RTL8188EE has driver issues. The way around slow wifi speeds (it absolutely crawls until you plug in the AC power, then it will speed up. Changing the power saving settings in Windows 8.1 is not a workable fix. When I find a fix, I'll update this post. HP needs to provide a guide on how to upgrade the ram on this. My old machine had 8gb, this has 6 gb but is expandable. Problem is there is no access panel on the bottom. You will have to take all the screws off and dismantle the laptop to get to the ram and hard drive. I hope they put a guide to take it apart.

We use this for our homeschool. My son also enjoys some online games with it too.

I love the large screen of the laptop and the responsiveness of computing. I needed a full sized keyboard for my accounting applications.

I wish this didnt have 8.1: . Other than that the design is great ! Very fast!
