This monitor is a steel and it's stunning. I've seen this monitor on display at my local Best Buy every time I go there. And it's always caught my eye although it wasn't something I needed and I didn't think I would like it as I tend to like to stay away from HP, for no particular reason I just like to look at other companies products ahead of HP. I also thought the frame color and stand looked odd. After seeing it at my local Best Buy the thought of having a 32-inch monitor was always on my mind so finally one day I said screw it I'm going down to get it, even though I didn't think I would like it. When I got it home it blew me away. The frame and the stand looks absolutely amazing and so does the picture and the colors are there very Vivid. There's lots of preset settings for different color modes as well as many adjustments to tweak the monitor if you choose to althoigh out of the box it's absolutely stunning nothing needs to be tweaked. I was also surprised to find that it was not a strain on my eyes. I use it with my Surface Pro in extended monitor mode. I can actually set the Surface Pro right in front of it if I want and that way I'll have split screen top and bottom pretty neat. While I was purchasing it my son was telling me why do you want to get that it if it doesn't have 4K? But when I got home he changed his tune. It really does produce a picture that looks 4K and again the colors are amazing videos are amazing. The next day while redecorating his room he dropped his old monitor by mistake and cracked his screen, now it looks like I'll have to give him this one and then return to Best Buy and get another one for myself go figure!

    The perfect monitor.

I needed more screen room for all the windows I create for my work (3 internet, 2 database tables, photo and video editing etc.), but I also need large fonts because of poor vision in the family. After careful research, I discovered that 27" monitors were too small, even with 2 of them on my desk. And a 4k monitor was useless under 40", except for video editing. My store had only 2 of these 1440 monitors, and both were in boxes on the top shelf, making me a bit nervous about quality. Fortunately the sales guy promised to take this one back if it did not fit my needs, and work well with my new iBuypower PC. After 2 weeks of use, I have decided to replace my second LG 24" monitor with another 32" from HP. I love the LGs that I have purchased over the years, but this monitor is fantastic. The huge bonus is 2 HDMI ports, which allows me to add the output from the cable box and easily switch between the computer and TV by clicking a button in the back right corner twice. The screen is bright and sharp, and admittedly better than the aging LGs I still use on the older computer. I don't do gaming, so I have no idea if the monitor is a good fit for anyone into high speed graphics, but the HD videos I download are perfect, and photo editing 1080 screenshots is a dream with a 1440 monitor. I waited 3 years for this monitor, so I am one 'happy camper'.

    Excellent Monitor

I can't believe someone gave this monitor a bad review because it isn't 4k. The monitor is 1440p, which is perfectly adequate for anyone. If you didn't want a 4k 32" monitor, perhaps you should have read the spec sheet first before purchasing. With that said...I am here reviewing the product I knew I bought, that being an excellent 1440p 32" monitor. The display itself works great, and works well with both Mac and Windows. It's extremely vivid and has great color reproduction. I'm also impressed with the quality of the stand and the overall monitor. It looks absolutely stunning on my desk. Lastly, the monitor performs great. I am able to play first person shooters without noticeable input lag. Keep in mind, this is coming from a person who owns an Asus with 1mm input lag. Absolute steal at $300, or even $400. Do not hesitate on buying.

I was in Best Buy replacing my broken LG 29" and came upon this HP monitor. The monitor feels so much larger than my 29". What I like about this monitor: 1) Two different mounting options a.) A rugged and elegant metal base for standing the monitor on a table/desk b.) A mounting bracket for mounting the monitor to a wall or monitor arm. I like not having to shell out extra money for a mounting kit. 2) It came with an HDMI cable and a DisplayPort cable. 3) The fact that it supports both HDMI and DisplyPort is handy. 4) I have an ATI card, so it is nice to have FreeSync support. 5) USB connectivity on the back of the monitor. This allows me to keep my work area physically more distant from the computer itself. 6) This monitor has a blue light reduction capability which allows me to save my eyes from the permanent damage. 7) The monitor picture is clear and crisp for every form of content I have thrown at it.

Buy it! Best Buy is terrific on returns - especially if you are a "member", and unless you are a gamer, this screen is a keeper! For under $400 [$300 on sale!] this 34" QHD monitor has a fantastic picture. I had, a few years ago, bought a 27" 1080p monitor, but the pixels were too visible so I exchanged for a 25". At 2560 x 1440, this is not a problem on a 34" 16:9 monitor. Using Display Port output, the high resolution is possible and the colors are true, even without calibration. I am a semi-professional photographer, and I also do desktop publishing, and the larger screen has enough real estate to let me reduce the clutter of two monitors. This might not be a gamers' dream, but my onboard video supports 70Hz. The only thing I don't care for is that the VESA bracket mounts at the lower edge of the back of this monitor, so I had to re-mount my bracket make it fit. NOTICE: I was unable to get decent 2560 x 1440 using my Nvidia GT card, even though it supports that resolution - it just didn't look good... So, I'd plan on using Display Port or a newer card.

I am an avid PC Gamer. I got this to replace a 27" 1440P IPS monitor that supports 144Hz refesh rate and has a 5 ms response rate. I was very surprised how great this monitor looked. The colors are spot on accurate with little to no tweaking. At 75hz it's highest native refesh rate (which supports Freesync) the was no tearing or ghosting, I believe it's a VA monitor and it was very bright (in fact I did have to turn this down). At 32" and 1440P it displays text beautifully. I'm kind of a fan of IPS but this looked awesome. My only issues are the very short 1 year warranty which is pretty poor for a $300+ investment and the terrible location of the VESA mount. Unlike just about evey other monitor it is located on the very bottom of the monitor. Therefore it fit very poorly on my swiveling wall mount, was too high. and because of the weight above the mount constantly wanted to rotate down. My fix was to let it be upside down and invert the output signal. Makes the monitor pretty ugly with the vents at the top and it is pretty annoying during reboots.

I like the size of this monitor. I can have multiple applications open without having a dual screen edge down the middle or the extra costs of two monitors. It fills the available space within, my desk's hutch. In hindsight, I almost wish I had considered a wider aspect ratio to fit the space, but for a lot of my applications the taller aspect ration is helpful with longer lists at larger magnification. Set up was simple. Since I already had independent speakers and most speakers in flat screens aren't that good, I don't care that there aren't any with this monitor. I wish the height was adjustable, but made it work. While I'm not a gamer, I do wish the resolution was higher for this size. For everyday use, it is fine, but for photography editing it can look a little pixelated instead of crisp like a smaller screen. I would have preferred an additional DisplayPort option.

I picked up one of these to replace a 27" LG IPS 1080p monitor. The display is decently color accurate, and it supports Freesync if you have an AMD card. Unfortunately, due to a combination of longstanding driver bugs(nvidia) and some hardware quirks, you'll often end up with frame-skipping if you pair it with an nVidia card and set the refresh rate to 70Hz. Some people won't notice it, some are sensitive to it (and tearing) and it'll bother them. Unfortunately, I'm in the latter category. My first monitor had a light grey streak down the center of it. I returned it and picked up a second display, which also had some streaking and banding issues. I returned that one for a third monitor and got one that looked perfect, but ran into the aforementioned frame skipping issues. I configured the display to run in fast mode to try and reduce input lag, but it was still a little much for me. Unfortunately, it didn't work well for me, but it really is a great size and a nice panel. If you're not sensitive to input lag, tearing or frame skipping, give it a shot if it's on sale. I'd say it's a steal at the previous sale price of around $300.

I purchased a 36" screen, that was over $300.00. Monitor has a very good picture. Would have given higher rating as I am basically happy about the purchase - HOWEVER - if you haven't purchased a monitor in a long time, some are made thinner, so no room for speakers. Was not told this in the store, so was very perturbed to realize after it was set up there were no built in speakers. Sales rep should have stated this fact, though he pointed out this was a "gaming monitor", and especially as I told him I wanted to use this as an alternative from our TV to watch DVDs. Though I'm not unhappy about the purchase, my recommendation is given with the understanding that the consumer should be told when a monitor does not have speakers. Would suggest when the cost of the monitor is over $300, the required speakers should be available for a discount.

I was originally thinking of upgrading a very old Acer 26" 1920 x 1200 LCD with a larger 4K monitor. The PC I purchased this monitor for is over five years old, but was top of the line when it was new. The computer still does everything I need in terms of speed and performance, but the existing video card will only support UGA, and not 4K. After looking at the same sizes 4K units, I realized that the pixels were so small at the 32" screen size that I would need to run at lower resolution anyway so that my aging eyes can see. The monitor has an attractive appearance, and the colors look good as well as a very sharp graphics. I do not use my computer for gaming, so I have no idea if it will be good for that, but it is a great general purpose/ graphics monitor. One nice feature is the two USB 2.0 ports on the back for your keyboard and mouse.

Amazing monitor for work and home

I absolutely love this monitor! So much that I bought 2 of them, one for work and one for home. 32" is perfect for side by side document comparison (screen split) and the resolution is ideal for every day work and house use. It's Quad HD which is perfectly sufficient/ 4K screens might be good for videos but they are almost useless for normal applications (font gets so small). Both times I got this around Black Friday at Best Buy for about $230 which is a steal. No where else were the prices that low. Warning: Once you go big you will never be able to go back to 27" or 23". This is the perfect size. PS there is a Bang & Olufsen version for those who need speakers. I personally have other music devices like my Bose Soundlink so this is the right one.

    REALLY GOOD

1440p and Freesync Colors are really Good. Blacks are impressive, on par with IPS panels. the VA panel color shift only happens at Extreme angles. I got it on sale at Best Buy for $299, an absolute steal. If they were on sale today, I would go buy a 2nd one. I won't call it perfect but there is nothing bad enough to rate any less than 5 stars. I would give it 4.5 if I could. The colors are accurate but I want just a tad more pop. I used the Freesync setting since, to me, this was the best Preset settings. I have been looking for calibrated settings for this monitor, so far, I can not find any on the web. 32" and 1440p works well, the PPI is acceptable. Very happy. I use it for Windows 10 and Gaming. I play MMO games where 1ms response time isn't as important as RTS/FPS games. I works great and looks great in all the MMO games I play. WoW, SWTOR, GW2, EQ, ESO all look really nice on this massive monitor.

I was looking for a monitor that's 27" or more and above FHD res. This is the deal I could find for black friday which met my requirements. It's not 4k and I don't think I need 4k for my needs. I need a big size monitor such that I can multi task by keeping windows opened in two halves. I hooked this to my 2015 Macbook Pro over HDMI 2.0 and it works well. The panel isn't super bright which goes easy on my eyes. The colors are decent not super vivid(probably have to tune the settings but I liked the factory settings). The panel is great without any screen bleeding or dead pixels. Kudos to HP on that. For this size of a monitor with resolution above FHD and under 250$ it's a great deal for a simple user. Thanks to Best Buy for offering this at such an amazing price.

Bought this as a second display for a pre-Retina iMac. Using a Mini-DP to the DisplayPort on the monitor works fantastic. The resolution and pixel size are as close to a builtin display and it looks amazing. I have it mounted above the iMac as it allows for full-time monitoring of our security system, and it works great for running virtual machines on the second display, as it's big enough for 2 pages to fit on side by side. Eventually I'll pick up a few more for the other iMacs that don't support 4K/5K output. Excellent monitor.

This was an online Black Friday purchase as I was wanting to purchase a larger monitor. I have a Dell i7 Latitude 3847 desktop computer with 16 GB of ram and Windows 10 installed. I was pleasantly surprised when I discovered that the Intel HD graphics card recognized the full resolution capability of this monitor at 2560 x 1440! I thought that I would have to buy a new graphics card to support this resolution. I am a weather buff and enjoy keeping multiple windows open to view the radar, data from my weather station as well as information from the National Weather Service. I use the supplied HDMI cable and I enjoy the 16:9 aspect of the the monitor. It is the right size for me for being large but not overwhelming.

This is not a bad monitor at all. But once using 4K monitor there is no no no for anything lower than 4K for big size monitor. I just got these 2 of them for my office use. thought i do not wanted to give $$$ burden to my employer for buying 4K instead i gave this monitor as option. received in just 2 hours! started using it and found that monitor has bigger pixels compared to my 4K i have at home. there is day and night difference. if you can afford for little extra money go with 4K LG monitors they are good. I am having stress on my eyes while working on this monitor. I can not complain to employer LOL bcoz i have asked them to buy it (to save money). poor me. again, this monitor is great. looks solid, have adjustable stand which is giving you angle. not height. colors are good too. but 4K is great and no comparison.

I had a great 24" Dell monitor for several years and was in the market for something a bit bigger, like a 27" when I stumbled upon this HP Pavilion 32" monitor. I was shocked for the price it was a QHD monitor, something that's been hard to find for a decent price in a 27". I pulled the trigger on the HP and after connecting it via DP to my Nvidia 970ti and turning it on I was instantly in love with the picture and size of this beautiful monitor! I'll be using it for work as well as home use/gaming. The only issue I had is the stand isn't a tight fit and had a slight lean on one side that bugged the heck out of me. After a bit of rigging to get it perfectly straight, I cannot say enough good things about this monitor!

I purchased 2 of these monitors for $229.99 each on Black Friday (Cyber Week) - a killer deal at that price. The 2560 x 1440 resolution is great for this size monitor. I found most 4k monitors to render text too small for practical use without scaling (and why pay more only to up the magnification everywhere). The only thing I really dislike about the monitor is that the stand doesn't allow for rotation. As a result, I "had to" get a dual monitor stand (in my case, two wall mounts) to allow full articulation. In the end, it is a more functional solution, but "having to" spend the extra money wasn't something I had anticipated at purchase. Still, extremely happy with them.

Hello good best buy shoppers looking for the facts... I.T. Manager SteveO here with today's opinion of HPq 32. Okay... it does display clearer than my Samsung 32" TV's that I "FREQUENTLY" use as monitors. Yes.. faster refresh rates with a very comfortable screen size, but like so many monitors... no sound. Now, I am willing to give this monitor more acceptance because the picture is a bit better... and when you consider the full day most people have to STARE at their monitors, it helps break up the eye strain a bit. I guess I'll just have to give up built in stereo sound, Television, and Netflix's for this monitor... or do I? Give it a try and see how you feel. Try to buy it on sale if you can.

I bought this monitor to connect to both my Mac mini and a PC. Using the Mac's Mini DisplayPort, it was an easy connection to the monitor's DisplayPort input for QHD goodness! (My 2012 mini doesn't support QHD over HDMI, but the Mini DisplayPort works perfectly.) My PC has an upgraded gfx card, and it took me a little trial and error to get 1440p. The card has several DVI, HDMI, and Mini DisplayPort outputs. The HDMI worked! The picture is great, and 32" is insane. Don't buy this if you're just going to hook up something 1080p. That would be a waste! My only wish is if it had split screen capability to show 2 different inputs simultaneously. But at this price, I wasn't really expecting that feature. Overall, I'm very happy!
