I gave up using anything HP several years back but so I nearly missed getting this one.
It's fast, easy to set up and use, but best for me is that pricewise, this was a GREAT deal for my really limited budget.
The other huge pluses for me are that it accepts older and newer peripherals.
It means that while I slowly upgrade storage, tv's, monitors, sound systems etc, this desktop can handle it.
Plenty of memory, storage.
It's also a relatively small footprint and aesthetically, I like not having another black void in my tiny apartment.
Oh yeah, and it has optical drive for DVD.

What you getting:
A powerful workstation
Ample storage w/ a bonus of a SSD.
More than enough ram
A quad core 3.6 GHZ processor (Intel has really stepped their game up this year!
with a modest amount of port selection. 4 USB 3.0 on the back. 2 USB 3.0 on the front and a type C port as well.
Overall the computer boots quick due to the SSD. This was placed in an office environment with the use of quick books in mind and it works well!

I like the amount of stuff you get for $469.00. Like a fast OEM Samsung 960EVO 128GB SSD, 1TB Western Digital Blue full sized 3.5" Hard Drive, Bluetooth and dual band wifi, 8GB of fast enough DDR4 ram expandable to 16GB simply by adding another 8GB stick, smallish size, and the long forgotten DVD drive....really a lot of good, useful tech for the money.
The downsides are the same here as every other review of this series. There really is no excuse for the low end 180 watt power supply, it's simply under powered. At least it's a standard size, so replacing it is easy enough...but you shouldn't have to do that in the first place. The included keyboard and mouse are basically throw away items, not really usable in any capacity...but I guess it's better than nothing till you get better. And expansion is limited by the smallish case, only the most compact of video cards will fit here---if you of course replace the power supply first...

For the price, you get a lot of computer. An Intel i3 processor with 8GB of RAM with plenty of storage and features. However, this is not the best computer for anyone who wants to upgrade and customize their own computer. The Power supply is a very basic 180 Watts. Most gamers prefer 300-600 Watts on average.
Even worse, the power supply is proprietary which means upgrading it with an industry standard ATX model might need a little tinkering to make it work. While this is enough for most users, some of the higher end graphics cards require an external power supply. Not that it matters anyway, because this unit does not possess any extra power cables and the small cramped internal space would not be able to handle the size of the higher end graphics cards anyway. You are stuck with mid-range budget graphics cards that do not require external power.
The CPU, RAM, and M.2 solid state drive are all up-gradable, so its still a decent low to mid range desktop for its price, but definitely lacks expansion potential.

Price was reasonable . Came with Windows 10,Geek Squad loaded up drivers for various devices, set up me email. and made a recovery disc, At home Windows started giving me trouble wouldn't operate correctly. I took it back to best Buy and Geek Squad tried to reload everything. Said computer was defective and wouldn't load up Windows 10 correctly. They exchanged the tower and everything loaded correctly. I have had it now for two weeks and am satisfied with it. I am basically computer illiterate and not a gamer . The load up speed and operational speed is faster than my old computer. I am getting used to Windows 10 ( I had Windows 7) and all my peripherals operate correctly.

Great machine for home media server

I bought this computer to use as a media server in my home. I can stream my videos on any of the TV's in my house. I have my entire music catalog available to me in every room of my house including outside. As for the computer I removed some apps I did not want. I set everything to save to the 1TB drive instead of the SSD. The machine starts up and shuts down quickly. It is not a power house but it runs well. I have had no issues. I am not a gamer so I do not know how it would work for gaming. My purpose was to set up a media server in my house. This computer helped me do just that. I gave it 4 stars for the ease of use, the performance, and reliability.

Entry Level Computer for the Office Staff

I sell this computer as the minimum required computer as of August 2019 - great computer - it uses a M.2 2280 SSD for the C:\ drive which is among the fastest models of SSDs, and also has a 1 TB HDD for additional, larger, long term storage.
Not only do I recommend this desktop - I sell one to a client about 2-3 times a month.
I personally have the i7, 16GB, 512 GB M.2 2280 SSD model - they are the same style computer with a faster processor, double the RAM, & SSD size all increased...needed for running 5 monitors in a graphics array. Very easy to upgrade - except for the power supply - it is hard to find a replacement with a higher wattage...but it seems to be operating just fine with it's stock power supply.

Great computer for the price. Very fast and easy to setup. I had it put of the box and setup within 10 minutes. Does not have a lot of bloatware pre-installed. The only downside is that it does not come with a product key to install Microsoft office suite, you will need to purchase a subscription separately which can be pricey if you are not anticipating that extra cost.

I was in a rush to find for a good system to replace my current one which died in the middle of a recording studio session for a deadline. This one was the one I could find at the time and it did an it excellent job, not to mention that it was much more faster and have more space than my previous one. Thanks to the HP Pavilion Desktop 590-P0054 system I had no down time and I was able to complete the work .

I knew this wasn't the "TOP DOG" of computers but I didn't need one. I did find however that it is fast enough for any web surfing or video watching I might want to do. It is also a lot quieter than some desktops I have had. The 128 GB solid state drive makes the i3 processor seem even faster than higher rated processors with the non solid state drives. Very impressed with this desktop so far.

Bought this in February and it was very easy to setup, came at a great price, and overall I am very happy with this purchase. I hate that all windows machines come installed with McAfee virus scan as it takes over your machine like a virus and is a pain in the rear to uninstall, but once done everything is running smooth.

Very fast. Easy to setup. Looks great. Small and compact. Fits nicely in my office. Requires little maintenance. Gets great comments from my friends and family. Great for surfing and accessing the internet. Files are easy to access and requires little maintenance. Blue tooth easily identified by my external speakers and phone.
