Customers often highlight the responsive touch screen, strong performance, and lightweight design of the Spectre x360 2-in-1 laptop. Positive feedback also frequently mentions the long battery life and fast SSD. However, some users note that the laptop can get warm during use and that the fan can be noisy at times. Fastest laptop I have ever had!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this laptop to replace another HP which I had dropped about 5 feet to a tile floor and have had since 2012. It just dented it and it still worked! Cosmetically, I couldn't use it for work and had to replace it. I decided to stay with HP and purchase a 2 in 1. I saw this at Best Buy and could instantly feel the quality. It boots up extremely quickly and recognizes your face when doing so. I can run any program I throw at it. The 4k does make some menus smaller, but I use the programs enough that I know where to click. If you don't know, just change your monitor display. The pen works very efficiently and I use it to sign .pdf files as well as my clients.

So good I bought 2 of these laptops
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted to replace our older laptops and the HP Spectre was the perfect choice for me, based on it's specs and reviews. The Spectre doubled our RAM to 16 GB, provided a fast processor, the 7th gen i7, and also provides the 2-in-1 capability and touchscreen. I've had the new laptops for about 6 wks now and love them. Beautiful HD display. The laptop itself is super thin (and sleek looking). The Spectre came with a 512 GB SSD ; I wasn't interested in getting a hybrid drive (one extra thing to think about) and 512 GB is plenty. The Spectre boots up extremely fast. What a pleasure after waiting on my last HP! It has handled running multiple programs while streaming live tv with no problems at all. Good feel in the keyboard. Just sort of two negatives: the Spectre is so thin that it is hard to open--the space to get you finger nail in there (or just finger for me) is too small. But I solved this by using two 1/2 inch diameter pads about 1/16th of an inch thick and stuck one on each side of the face/keyboard, one pad at the bottom of each speaker on the right and left. Since these little round pads are exactly the same color as the laptop, the pads look like they are part of the design. You may not even need to do this, but based on reviews others have had difficulty opening the thin Spectre and I did too. This was an easy fix. The final issue is just a warning to NOT buy the matching HP Bluetooth mouse the store offers for sell for an expensive $40 or so for a cheap device that has a terrible BT connection to the Spectre. I don't recommend buying that mouse. But that is not really a flaw of the Spectre itself. In short, I love this laptop and recommend it. It's worth the price.

Well designed and sleek !
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Spectre x360 is a wonderful machine. From the sleek design to the attention to detail it performs extremely well. Switching from laptop to tablet mode is as easy as folding the screen over. It runs all my applications extremely well and the 4k screen enables larger views into documents (wp, xls and ppt) As for games, the 4k screen resolution makes them sparkle, without slowing down the game play. Overall I give it a 10 out of 10.

LOVE!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I researched laptops for 6 months before finally commiting to this one. I had my eye on it for 2 years and was still a little skeptical. So glad I took the leap and finally brought this beauty home with me! I'm a power windows user and put down at least 10 hours a day on my PC. I am still blown away at its power and performance. I can't say enough good things about the Spectre. If you are looking at reviews to decide between PC or Mac.. move along..the Spectre is on a whole other level and is way to good to even be used as a comparison. Stop thinking about it and buy it today! Plus, Best Buy has an awesome 0% finance offer that can't be beat! Love!

Great High End Laptop - Worth the Extra Cost
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The HP - Spectre x360 2-in-1 15.6" 4K Ultra HD Touch-Screen Laptop is my second Spectra 15 in computer (I just damaged the screen on my first and will be using it as a backup) The Spectre form factor is excellent. It is lightweight and looks great. More importantly it has 16 Gig of RAM and solid state disk (556 Gig). I would have liked a Tera of storage as on my first Spectra but with 3 cloud storage systems (MS, Google and Dropbox) I have plenty of computer storage capability. The graphics is great. This computer has a separate graphics processor. I only use the computer for non-graphic business software - but having great graphics is nice although I don't use computer for movies. The price is high but the performance is high. On the downside, it only has one legacy USB and one new Type C USB - when using the power cord. I purchased a conversion cable for $10 to permit using another legacy USB device. Also, I am going to purchase a Bluetooth mouse. I have many mice with USB dongles which will take out one of USBs which is not good. I give the computer a high rating. Also, I discovered the screen is 15.4 in rather than the previous 15.6. I like the .2 in smaller size better for fitting in briefcases. The computer comes with a faux leather sleeve (which does not offer much protection) and a pen (which I have not used yet). Is the Spectre worth the extra money? Yes for the SS Disk and i7processor, 16 Gig and it looks great. I only converted the 2 in 1 to a tablet one time in 18 months (thought I would but no need to). I no longer use my desktop and use my laptop all the time - thank you MS Office and the Cloud.

BETTER THAN SURFACE BOOK
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I do allot of design work with Adobe software and needed to look into a new device to replace my 2015 13 inch MacBook Pro with retina because the battery was shot from many hours of use and charge cycles. The 13 inch MacBook Pro served me well but over the last couple years (and I still love the apple operating systems) but the screen size just didn't have the realestate I needed to really feel comfortable working in the programs I use without feeling like the screen was too congested— especially when trying to multitask or have open menus in adobe programs. Over the years my projects have also (on average) grown in scale and I had I got more into the illustration aspect of design and I really felt like I needed a bigger canvas to draw on without scrolling around so I could keep my pen strokes feeling natural and fluid but not lose detail. After first buying a top of the line brand new 2017 15 inch MacBook Pro with touch bar And returning it because: (a.) I found the lack of ports and being forced to use USB-C far more annoying than I expected (b.) I found the physical keys for brightnesses, volume, etc. to be much more useful and reliable than the touch bar which in my opinion is not only gimmicky and useless but also makes tasks that were once simple, and immediate when using now absent physical keys MORE difficult. (c.) it has no pen, and no pen option. (d.) I felt it was overpriced (even for apple) (e.) the battery life was nowhere near what apple claimed. (f.) the unit was defective right out of the box- it had dead pixels on the screen, needed multiple restarts which stopped after a few updates, and after a week of use the screen started to display multiple lines and visual artifacts associated with the screen having a loose connection to the computers video output (I.e. it seemed poorly built and I would say even feels flimsy and breakable to me. And this is coming from a long time apple user who currently has an iPhone 7, Apple Watch and IPad and prefers iOS/iPhone/iPad to Android, and MAC OS to windows. It was time for me to move on because windows just offers a better value with way more options for a full portable computer (iPad is still cool but it has limited function) and if I was going to do windows then for me a pen tablet was mandatory to maximize it's usefulness. So, I tried the surface book... which was better than the mac but still just as expensive and still has an awkward design and the screen is NOT 15" so it was just too small. Plus the units wierd hinge makes the it take up allot of space while being stored. The battery was also much worse than the MacBook Pro which was honestly very good for its size but not just not the best and certainly not what apple claims. Anyway, overall the Surface Book was just not worth the price mark up compared to other computers. Not to mention this surface book also had multiple dead pixels. So after I returned that I decided I would wait a while before I got a new computer... and then shortly after I had given-up I saw this baby! It seemed to have everything I was looking for! Designed like a new MacBook Pro SHOULD have been, 15" touch screen, dedicated graphics card, all the best storage, speed and specification featured in the Surface Book Pro and MacBook Pro combined (or better) but for half the price of either, better battery life, nicer looking than the surface book and as good looking as the MacBook Pro but more durable and sturdy feeling. The pen that comes with this HP Spectre even uses the same N-trig technology as surfacebook made by the same company as the surface pen. It feels the same looks the same, and is the same size. I know that people have complained about the pen that came with other models of the HP Spectre line but this model does not have that problem. I have personally drawn on both the surface book and on this HP for 10+ hours and there is no dectable difference in quality whatsoever. This is a great computer it's not only the best but the best price and it even comes with Avery nice carrying sleeve which also holds the pen. Very satisfied.

HP really put together a great Laptop!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve owned 20 or more laptops in my lifetime. They seem to get better and better, and this is no exception. The screen brightness and resolution is great, battery life is good even when tasking the laptop with graphic entensive applications. I use it for Office apps, and also as an Information Technology position I work during the day. The Nvidia will, play the best of games, just don’t expect to play them on Ultra settings. Overall, the laptop is fast, and not loaded with a lot of bloat-ware. The keyboard and extra large touch pad took some getting use to but if you go to settings you can adapt it to your style.

Great Laptop for College Engineer Student
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Battery will easily last the whole day on a single charge, yet charges quickly. The folding ability allows for great versatility: taking notes, watching videos, presentations, etc. Never thought the screen was too big or bulky, gorgeous display. Very light and fits in my backpack with a case. Can't wait to use this in college.

BEST. LAPTOP. EVER.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the best laptop I've EVER owned. I love its. Its so good looking and feels SOOO high quality that I just love to touch it and carry the beautiful machine. Like the edges of the laptop line up perfectly when you close it and the hinges are attached exactly center so its just an OCD persons dream. Okay and the specs. They're so good, that I've only heard the PC fans turn on TWICE EVER and I use it flat on the carpet where other laptops would normally build up tons of heat. The Windows experience is VERY FAST and the updated Windows 10 is beautiful and amazing to use. The 4k screen works perfectly and it also comes with battery powered windows ink pen! The pen itself has 2 configurable buttons and is very good. Now the deal breaker, this is the only reason I've ever had to exchange any new laptops starting from 6th gen Intel and up.... Battery life. This Laptop has excellent battery life. Even if lets say you use it to the max, the 90w power adapter charges it SUPER FAST! I remember always leaving my old laptops for hours to charge. This one? Like 1hr super quick charging if I plug in at like 30% If you can afford it and want the number one best laptop out RIGHT NOW, get this no questions asked. If you can wait, I guess wait like a year for better ones to come out or something? But anyways this is the most recent 7th gen Intel and most recent specs. And waiting could go on perpetually because next year why not wait another year since you already did? (You shouldnt)

Tech geek jackpot
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This computer was not in stock at any of the stores in town, I ordered it online I knew what I wanted. It took four weeks for them to ship, and it was worth the wait. Elegant, Slim, and The Lightning Fast I would never own anything besides a solid state drive again. Try it and you'll be hooked. Best Buy is the best option in Birmingham.

Mixed Feelings
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this laptop to replace my Macbook Pro as too many of my applications require Windows and most of the users I support are on Windows 10. Upon purchase I immediately wiped and reinstalled Windows 10 Pro to get rid of the typical bloatware. Pros: Laptop is fairly sturdy and appears to be made of strong material. Laptop pulls its weight. I don't do a lot of programs that require a lot, but it tends to do well. Screen resolution is very crisp. Speakers are decent Trackpad works very well. Screen appears to have very little parallax when using the stylus Cons: The screen flexes and feels like it may break when switching to tablet mode. Tablet mode only recognizes the switch 2/3 of the time. The laptop runs very hot, even with basic applications running The screen has a ton of glare, even from dim lights if they are behind you. The fan sounds like it is beginning to fail after just 3-4 months. Remote desktop sessions are not scaled well with the screen resolution. While overall I love this laptop, the fan showing signs of degradation this early concerns me and has prevented me from recommending it. The glare can be a major issue as well.

Mobile Magic
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Let me just say, I did extensive research before picking this unit up. I compared it to MAC and PC options. I do photography and desktop publishing and this machine is an amazing all in one. I was looking for an ALL in one solution with an emphasis on mobility. I used a Wacom Tablet with my previous laptop setup and was cumbersome to lug around. Now, this unit has the latest I7 installed (not the most powerful of the I7 family but great for my workload) and works wonders. 4K display and built in digitized screen. I love that I can now edit my photographs right on the screen and not have an extra accessory to work with. I can quickly move to tablet mode and work with greater freedom. I have used this unit since August and am pleased to say it a great mobile work horse. I will caution you though, if you are into photography and using an extremely large pixel camera, you will want to look at a product with the top performance I7. This is a trade off on this unit for extended battery life. Also, the price point of this unit is too good not to take a look at. I'm very picky about the keyboard and let me tell you, this keyboard is smooth and tactile. The layout and aesthetics of this unit are beautiful! It is refreshing to not have a "silver" unit among all of the other laptops out there. Silver is sleek, but the dark tones are very earthy and I welcome it. PORTS, wow!! THANK YOU HP FOR KEEPING THIS A FUNCTIONAL PRODUCT WITH REDUCED DEPENDENCY ON DONGLES OR EXTENSIONS!!! HDMI, Both USB 3.0 options for legacy and future devices!!! MEMORY CARD READER onboard along with audio jacks. This was a huge turn off on the recent Surface Pro and MAC book pro units. They give you one or the other, not BOTH like this unit. HP really had the user experience in mind when they put this unit together. I can go on and on about this but will now direct you to You Tube as there are several extensive reviews available on it. I LOVE this product!!

I loved it but...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I loved this laptop. It was fast, had a great battery, looks awesome, was ultra portable, etc. Ultimately, however, I decided to return the laptop. Hers’s why: After less than a week of using it, something popped up asking me if I wanted to update the software (windows type software, nothing I added). There was an option to create a restore point before the update occurred and I chose that option. The update downloaded and afterwards it restarted the machine (which is completely normal). What’s not normal is that when it restarted, it went to a black screen. The mouse could be moved across the screen, but there wasn’t anything to click on. I was able to press ALT + CTL + DEL which brought the close applications menu, but no applications were open. I didn’t want to mess things up by manually restarting in the middle of an update and so I waited.., hours. Nothing happened, however, and so I eventually tried restarting it. Unfortunately, I got the black screen again and every time I tried afterwards. Eventually, I then tried to restore to a previous point but, even though the machine said it was creating a restore point, it never recognized it; I couldn’t restore. My only option at that point was to wipe the computer completely and put it back to factory settings. I thought it was really annoying, but was even more frustrated when it happened to me again, less than 2 days later. I took the laptop back to Best Buy and the Geek Squad said it was a known issue with some of the HP computers and that they’d figured out a temporary work around. The problem is that I shouldn’t need to get help from Geek Squad to use a brand new computer. If I wasn’t within the return policy window, Geek Squad’s help would have cost me extra as the warranty only cover hardware and not software. I didn’t want to mess around with a temporary work around until HP/Windows figure out an actual solution and so I returned the product.

Love it
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I looked at this laptop versus a macbook and decided what you get for the price to be worth it. I'm using it for school and work, as well as some light gaming. I love it! The battery has lasted throughout the day, but I keep it on battery saver. I love the touch screen and 4K display. The speakers are amazing as well and the computer is very quiet.
