    Unbiased laptop review

Although battery life isn’t the best it is still a very good powerful laptop. It ran games way better than I expected as long as you adjust a couple settings and keep it plugged in. I would recommend more storage than 500gb if u plan to play many games or store heavy files. There is a couple things that could make it better but nothing too significant of a change but other than that I would definitely recommend.

was looking for an inexpensive gaming computer and this was right in my price range. the graphics were just what i needed since i primarily just play the sims 4. it was also in the store while i was shopping so i got to take it home that night and the salespersons were very helpful and walked me thru what it does and also through buying it. the battery is okay. i keep it primarily plugged in, but it might be because i am playing a game that it dies quick? but it's a gaming laptop so idk. but im not worried about it and it doesn't reduce my use of the computer. i don't have any pictures, but the computer is a good size, and fits in my lap. one of the good things about This computer is the number key pad. i was also very excited to see that because i can't stand when a computer doesn't have that. so it's everything that i expect and want in a computer in one. the speed, especially while playing the sims, is so much better than all the other computers ive owned. there are a lot of loading screens in that game, and i don't spend more than 5 seconds where on my other non-gaming computer, it would take 10 seconds or more. it can handle the graphics of an actual PC on a laptop which is really nice. i haven't had any problems with the display. would absolutely recommend this to anyone who isn't a big gamer and also someone looking for a gaming computer that isn't 2000 dollars. there is also a light up keyboard if you press the function for it, which i find helpful in the dark

Great Low/Mid-End Gaming Laptop When on Sale

The machine works well overall. The 4050 card is not very strong, but pairing with a 1080p screen is a good choice. It has DLSS support and FrameGen which really helps it out in newer titles. With those set on, you get good graphics (medium or even high settings) at 75+ FPS at 1080P, which is fully acceptable for the price point I paid (sub 600). The machine does come with a lot of bloatwear that eats into your 16GB of RAM. I would suggest disabling/uninstalling it. McAfee is terrible with resource usage, suggest disabling and just using Windows Defender. Also HPs gaming hub is a huge memory hog and offers nothing useful, so I disabled that as well. Doing the optimizations will get base memory usage below 50%, which leaves 8GB for gaming, which is sufficient. The one complaint (which wouldn't be one now due to increases in NVME/SSD costs), but it would have been nice to have a 1TB drive option with the same specs for the rest of the system. 512GB doesn't hold many games anymore, so I am sure I will need an external drive at some point. Overall, however, this is an excellent machine at the sale point I grabbed it at.

    Bought for my son

This is a decent laptop especially for the price. This was bought to replace a laptop that my son was using which began to die. So far every game he's thrown at it has run without issues and smoothly at 60+ frames, from CoD to Minecraft, even Silent Hill F at max quality. It has decent space which can be easily upgraded, along with the ram. one of the few features it has that I like is the backlit keys just press FN and F5 to turn it on. Still, this is a very good laptop for the price and suits my sons needs very well and then some. The screen is bright and vivid, it's quick and responsive. The keys are a bit soft but very responsive. The size is good too it's not heavy and is thin. The only gripe I personally have is that there is only a 3 USBs and 1 USB-C. I had to buy a hub to include a few other periphials. Overall I suggest this laptop for entry-mid tier gaming, especially if you can get it on sale.

The colors on the screen are super vibrant even if it's only 60% rgb. As per usual Windows and HP Services might be a bit buggy in the first week but that's totally normal. Pros: is lightweight, it's design is super sleek it looks quite premium even if it's plastic. The performance is so smooth and fast. Also pretty good performance with games.

Solid midrange gaming laptop. The Ryzen 7 7445HS and RTX 4050 handle 1080p gaming well, with the 144Hz display giving smooth visuals. 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD are adequate, but storage may feel tight for large game libraries. Build is plain but functional. Runs hotter and louder under load compared to premium models. Good performance per dollar, but limited upgrade options and average battery life.

The HP Victus with Ryzen 7 and RTX 4050 is a great value gaming laptop. It runs modern games smoothly at 1080p with a 144 Hz display, has 16GB RAM and a fast 1TB SSD, and keeps good thermals. The design is clean and portable, making it useful for both gaming and everyday work. While the RTX 4050 is entry-level and may need medium settings on very demanding games, overall it offers excellent performance for the price.

Ok, the pc itself is not bad, works for any purpose with some previous small adjustments, but their factory software make it bad ON purpose. The laptop itself have 2 fans on the Middle of the LEFT side of the pc (weird), but have fins on all the way of the back side near the hinge and on the back, pretty good cooling system so far and light to bring back and forth anytime. Now the true review and why 3 stars, the factory software, the fans from the cooling system are good, but for some reason run at 1800rpm~ until reaching 45C°, running pretty hot but not using even half max fan power, why? Just for battery? To keep the noise low maybe? Ok alright, let me change it or have options for a more aggresive fan curve while using the 120w charging brick but NO, there is no way to do it out of the box, Omen Gaming Hub software(the HP command software) only have 3 options for that specific model and the performance for some reason while other models have more options. Those are Eco, Silent and Standard for performance and they are NOT that generous with the fans (we can also use "Max" option for the fans and max should be the way to go to preserve the components but 5400rpm just for idle all the time is insane, loud and the fans will give up before they are really needed), the BIOS doesn't help and doesn't let you do almost anything even updated(01/07/2025), fans? Nope. Desactivate dgpu? Nope. Use the Dgpu like the main device for the display? Nope. Now the performance, the performance is surprisingly good for a 35w CPU(maybe because it's 4nm?) and 50w dGPU(yeah, 50w while gaming and video editing while plugged), you have two ways to do the job, via APU(Radeon 740M) for battery life or dGPU(RTX4050) for maximum power, while it is good that you have more ways to do the job, for some reason you can't choose between them completely to turn off the other, not via software or BIOS, you will always have turned on the APU and dGPU and that will reduce the laptop battery (Maybe there is no way to do it by pure internal design? Hope not) but the only good thing is that you can delegate specific works when needed via Windows or Nvidia Software for battery life or max performance or even both! (by default unplugged and even sometimes plugged with the power brick it will use the APU but you can overwrite that via software), also the laptop display is connected directly to the APU so there is sometimes a bottleneck while passing graphical work to the dGPU BUT you can bypass this and only use the dGPU when using a external screen via HDMI, why? No idea. This is review is completely superficial and some of the "problems" maybe could be fixed with third party softwares, Changing OS and even BIOS updates/modifications but for now they don't give a way to do it out of the box not even in a hard way (or i haven't find any so far), i'll keep the device and maybe change the review if they fix this via software but for now... Hard to recommend for just anyone.

The HP Victus 15.6″ Gaming Laptop represents excellent value in its class — offering capable gaming hardware, a smooth 144 Hz display, and strong everyday performance without breaking the bank. It’s ideal for gamers who want reliable 1080p gameplay and multitasking ability in a portable form factor. Although the battery and storage could be improved, the overall package is compelling and highly recommended for mid-range gaming and general use.

Its a good laptop. It's been over a month now, general use feels good. The screen looks crisp clear and bright. Full volume is a bit lesser than my previous dell inspiron laptop. I have tried 3 games in it so far: AC Origins, Days Gone and Clair Obscur Expedition 33. It has been able to run them all properly. Hasn't heated much. It has been good for coding in android simulators too which used to take forever in my old laptop.

I recently bought the HP Victus laptop, and I’m really happy with it so far. It offers great performance for the price and works well for both gaming and everyday use. The design is clean and modern, performance is smooth, and it handles multitasking and games without any issues. The display looks good, the keyboard is comfortable, and the battery life is decent for a gaming laptop. Overall, it’s great value for money and I’d definitely recommend it.

I recently purchased this laptop and it has exceeded my expectations. Performance is excellent, in games like Valorant and Fortnite run smoothly, and even heavier titles work without issues. The display is sharp and fluid, which makes gaming and everyday use feel really responsive. The laptop also stays cooler and quieter than I expected, and the overall build quality feels premium. For the price, this is honestly one of the best deals I’ve come across. If you’re looking for a laptop for both gaming and school/work, this is a great choice.

No issues after 30 + days, screen display can be somewhat dim, but the build in calibration tool can help that improve to one's liking. I have yet to attach an acceptable external display intended for this device, so i can not assess that part yet (may update later). Battery drain depends on what you are using and the current settings. Still, good functionality and a budget friendly device.

so It has a killer refresh rate. AMD Ryzen 7 chip. Triple the speed of the Pentium. It's not just the chip. It has a PCI bus. But... you knew that. Indeed. RISC architecture is going to change everything. Yeah. RISC is good. but AMD is better. Amazing entry and perfect for my 12yr old who wanted to move from console to pc gaming. she's looking to become the next acid burn.

Got this for my son. Mostly plays Minecraft, Roblox, and some Steam titles. As a joke we loaded Hogwarts Legacy and I was surprised how well it ran. Left auto detect settings on and it’s running on medium settings at 100 to 120 FPS. Very happy with it. The only gripe is build quality. Not a very rigid or hardened chassis, but for the price just be careful and it should be alright. Surprised how well the battery life is. And it’s cool. Much cooler than other gaming laptops. Not hot to the touch and no noisy fans while gaming.

I bought this on-sale because I'd been using GeForce Now as my gaming platform. My old Staples desktop just couldn't handle games even 10 years old at times. GFN was a good compromise until now. This laptop gives me almost as good of an experience as GFN. Great processor and GPU. Smooth, quiet. Just wish the battery was a little better when gaming and not plugged in
