This smartphone is way cool! I did some research on it before purchasing it and it far exceeds my expectations. An excellent phone. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great smartphone that does everything it advertises and then some. Great price too! Thank you, Best Buy

This is by far the best looking Android phone in the market. The all metal (almost) unibody casing looks and feels great. The latest Qualcomm chip coupled with the latest version of Android makes the phone screaming fast. HTC has made amazing progress in terms of design and also simplifying their custom UI. Sense 6.0 is functional as well as feature rich, unlike Samsung's Touchwiz that's full of rarely used gimmicks. Battery life is great as well. With battery saving mode on, I regularly get 15-18 hours per single full charge on a moderate to heavy usage day. The only time battery drains faster than usual is when I take a lot of photos and upload them instantly without Wi-Fi. HTC does not really advertise this, but the phone is also water resistant or at least splash proof. I wash mine with soap almost everyday (I'm only slightly germaphobic lol). Other less important features to me are excellent selfie cam (front facing camera), front facing stereo BoomSound speakers, Beats audio enhanced sound, infrared blaster that turns your phone into a remote control, built in FitBit integration, etc. In short, I love this phone and would recommend it to anyone willing to listen.

I've had the One M8 for just under a month. Pros: -fast, smooth operation -adequate camera -loud front speakers -excellent display -SD card slot -adequate call quality and noise suppression -Nicely designed Aluminum case and decent build quality -decent battery life Cons: -on screen navigation buttons take up too much space, which negates the benefits of the large screen. The use of soft keys makes the effective screen size about 4.7" -exterior is VERY slippery. I'm not sure how anyone could handle this phone without a case and not drop it. My One X seems positively grippy compared to this slippery device. Get a case. -non removable battery -AT$T bloatware

After having a bad experience with HTC a few times in the past, I was determined to not buy another one ever again, but the One M8 changed my mind. I had been bored with Samsung, and didn't see anything else that really caught my attention, so I decided to give HTC one more try. Gladly, I am happy I did because this phone is amazing. Everything is super fast, and the 5 inch screen is gorgeous. The screen is really responsive, and the metal body can really take a beating. While some might not like the UI of Sense 6 very much, I warmed up to it quickly and really prefer it over others at this time. Battery life has been amazing, I can easily get through the entire day and then some on the battery without issues. And then there is the camera. The 4 Ultrapixel camera really has surprised me. It takes amazing photos, I have really been impressed with how fast and clear they are, much better than what I was getting on the GS4. The only downside is that the phone supports gestures, which means that with the phone locked, you can make a swiping gesture up or down, or to either side of the screen to wake the screen to different things. Its really a good feature, but its too sensitive, and many times I have encountered my phone opening apps and even playing music on its own just from activating in my pocket. I highly recommend if you happen to have that problem, just turn the feature off in the settings. Other than that, this device has really be great.

    HTC One M8

The HTC One is by far the best Android phone you can buy. It offers lots of features wrapped up in a beautiful body. Although the beauty of this phone is obvious, it does have a few drawbacks. Packaging: The packaging is ok, nothing spectacular, since it is carrier locked, so it comes with carrier promos and documents. Two things really stuck out though, 100gb of free Google Drive storage and free protection for your phone in the event of accidental damage. Both are very unexpected, but definitely appreciated. Handling the phone: the HTC One (M8) feels great in your hand. The complete metal surface gives it a very high end, very nicely weighted feel to it. The build quality is absolutely on point. The Display: The display is absolutely gorgeous! It is a great feeling when you cannot discern pixels in a display regardless of how close you get to the screen. EVERYTHING looks great on this display. Images, videos, and even the entire OS. After watching a few Netflix videos, and videos from my personal server, I definitely feel this is one of the best displays I've seen so far. Using the Phone: The phone itself runs buttery smooth. The HTC Sense UI is a great very minimalist Android skin that is out of the way but still useful. Throughout the OS there are no hiccups or lags anywhere, games look and run great, videos load and play flawlessly, and the entire experience is divine. Speakers/Sound: BoomSound is a great feature and is great for watching videos, listening to music, etc. They are loud, crisp and definitely high quality. I love it! Camera: The camera/picture quality is a deal breaker. For all of the high end specs, and high quality components, HTC decided to stick with their UltraPixel marketing schtick, and it honestly is a big disappointment. Pictures never really seem to be completely in focus even with an extra steady hand. After photos are taken, they are just disappointing, even in natural light. Just unacceptable, especially considering the beauty and sophistication of the device. Battery life: The battery life is great considering most phones struggle to make it an entire day on a single charge. Day to day, this phone easily made it an entire day with heavy use, and easily made it a day and a half with moderate use. Very impressive. Extras: Light indicator is a nice extra that most Android phones come with. Another great addition is the Micro SD card slot located on the left side of the phone that supports up to 128gb cards. Conclusion: The HTC One (M8) is arguably the best Android phone available on the market and easily stands up to it's competitors like; Apple iPhone 6/Plus, Samsung Galaxy S5 and Note 3, LG G3, and the Nexus 5. The big hangup on this phone is easily the camera, but for what it lacks in photography, it easily makes up for in build quality, and sophistication.

Picked up the HTC One M8 with my upgrade in June. So far absolutely love it. I was running around with a Samsung Note 3 and although i did really like that phone as well the HTC One is just an all-around better phone. I do miss the screen real estate of the Note, but that is about it. For having a much smaller battery i get much better battery life from the One. I do realize that the screen is smaller but its not THAT much smaller. And, the amoled screen Samsung uses is supposed to use less power compared to LCD anyway. So, its a wash or even an advatage for Samsung having the larger battery size, but In my time with both phones the One has better overall battery life. Also, THANK YOU HTC for finally listening to people and putting the microSD card back in. I can live without the removable battery, but no microSD card is a deal breaker for me which is why i passed on the last gen One M7. I know some people are going to say, "but the CLOUDZ!11!! you don't need expandable storage". Sure whatever pal, i use "TeH CLOUDZ!!" as well but i can always find instances where i use that expandable storage... Actually thinking about it i use it all the time, but this is a review of the phone not my personal uses of Cloud and physical storage mediums. Onward! The Boom Sound speakers are excellent and have pretty decent sound for being as small as they are. No more cupping the phone or holding it close to my face to actually hear the audio on a video or song that i want to listen to, or i'm trying to show a friend. Even at full blast they retain their sound and barely distort. I have a feeling you're going to see more manufacturers copying in the future. Another good thing HTC did that i would like to give them kudos for is the lighter design of their Sense UI. I've had HTC phones in the past, (Inspire 4G) and my Wife had the One X and I could never get over how heavy and bulky Sense UI was, and the amount of clicks and taps it would take you to get around the OS. I always had to unlock and root my phone to get rid of it all-together and run a stock Android build. But, with this phone, i only loaded Nova Launcher and I've been pretty darn happy with the rest of the UI. <golf clap for HTC> I will eventually Unlock and Root the phone, because i really want to play with the new Android Developer L ROM, but its not Day One must for me. No one can review this phone as well without saying something about the craftsmanship and materials. Excellent. That's all you need to say. The aluminum body is far and away the best looking and constructed Android phone on the market. Its not even close when you're comparing it to its biggest competitor, Samsung Galaxy phones. The plastic Samsung uses is durable, and holds up well. I know, I've had the Galaxy S3, Galaxy S4 and the Note 3, but the One just blows them away with a premium look and feel. And, I dropped the One M6 before i got a case, and nary a scratch! Also, if you are going to case the phone, do yourself a favor and get the "Spigen soft clear Hybrid case." Its very light, gives the phone some much needed grip when holding it or setting it down, and its clear so you can still see the great construction of the phone. Also, very easy to take it off and on as well. ;) And, you can't go wrong with Spigen, you pay a bit more, but their cases, in my mind, have the greatest fit and finish in the biz... every hole, cut-out and volume/power button is exactly where it should be. Nothing off-center, or over lapping the USB port, headphone jack etc etc. Overall you can't go wrong with this phone. Whether you're a hardcore user or someone who just wants a phone that works and is simple to use you won't regret purchasing this phone.

I'm very happy with my M8. This is the second HTC phone and I'm sure I will continue using HTC. The camera functions are exceptional and the picture quality very impressive. The sound is clear and loud, a large improvement from my previous Inspire. The processor is so fast that AT&T is now the bottleneck with their "quasi LTE" network. The battery life is very good too. Overall I'm very happy with my purchase.

I'm no professional photographer so I'm very pleased with the camera. Overall, the phone is a bit large to hold with one hand. Also the aluminum backing is a little slippery, so I suggest a case. I had the Samsung galaxy s5 and did not like the clunky touchwiz and gimmicky features. I returned it and bought the one m8. Let's just say I am much happier.

The HTC one m8 is a great phone, amazing sound as well as full aluminum metal body gives the phone a premium look and feel. Not to mention the screen is backed with a one time replacement free of charge (which other phones do not). The LG G3 is nice lesser bezels and metal casing but the body is plastic unlike the M8. Surprisingly the phone fits well in the hand for most users. The front speakers are amazing I couldn't believe how loud they could get. Try one out I don't think you will be disappointed.

This phone does it all. It's light, sleek, sound quality is excellent, and the camera takes better pictures than my actual camera. Bought one for my mom, too, for her 80th birthday and it's very easy for her to use. I highly recommend this product.

I mean just wow as a phone. HTC and their user interface is very well made cater to the needs of all ranges of people. Speed, memory, accessibility, and functions are what you expect of a top tier smart phone. the only thing is the camera(of its own kind), But anyone who is looking into this phone knows that they have a special technology for dim lighted areas. thus, the megapixels/resolution is affected. Needless to say it gets the job done and the 5 megapixel front camera tends to be of a darker tint, but that can be easily adjusted. The only con? It uses front camera as sensor to decide whether the phone goes dark after inactivity or during lock screen and is quite sensitive, but then again easily fixed thru settings.

The phone is fast with no lag. Reception is good including GPS. Does not have a lot of extra junk that no one's uses. Battery life is good with multiple settings. The camera is excellent until you zoom. If you zoom in just a little bit the picture will be fuzzy. The phone is durable as well I have dropped it many times. Also I found it to be somewhat chemical resistant. At work it comes in contact with Skydrol every once in a while and just wipe it with some isopropyl and it is fine.

My wife was looking to upgrade in a big way (Her Pantech was way outdated). Heard mostly great things about the M8. She thoroughly enjoys the layout and BlinkFeed. Also, despite a criticism of the camera in many reviews, she has had nothing but a positive experience with taking photos. Snappy processor, too, makes speed high.

I went to At&T store to buy the HTC One m8 phone and had no idea that the plan they were offering was for me to pay $670.00 for the phone over the course of a contract. "NOt" when Best Buy offered the phone with a contract update (2yr) for only $99.00. You do the math I didn't mind staying with my carrier but to charge on top over my over price billing I was going back to a droid after the Apple 5 phone which I never cared for. The staff at Best But get 5 stars for their knowledge and customer service skills - I am a tough customer in any retail but I was pleasantly surprised with the service I quality received - I'' be back soon as I up grade my home electronics.

Great phone, usually I like to root my phone, but I think the stock experience is great on its own. Some of the bloatware is useful (lookout security, myATT, battery manager, HTC remote, etc). They have a mobile battery charger specifically made for the m8 to be able to fully charge the phone 3 times before you need to find a new source of power. I have battery saving mode all the time, I have a full day worth of charge, as a heavy user, 2-3 days if I don't use it that often. Comes with a 6 month, 1 time free screen replacement by HTC, so keep your receipt or other proof of purchase! I would recommend *NOT* to get a case or the HTC dot view case as it makes the phone feel cheap because of the plastic, your hiding the premium feel and quality of the metal build. If your worried about scratches, only thing that could scratch this badly enough to be noticed is keys, but they have to be pressed hard. The screen is literally indestructible and unable to be scratched, in my experience. If you have small hands, this will feel huge in your hand and you might need to use both hands to use it.

I am a very recent convert from iphone to android as I don't like the way iphone features are driven more by what apple wants to do rather than being customer driven. Feels great to be finally free from the shackles of, and hopeless dependence on itunes for every little thing. HTC one M8 is my first android phone and I love the phone; all features are great. Camera is really good and the pan 360 feature is awesome. Sound quality is really nice. I wish the overall touch screen sensitivity was slightly better but I am used to it now; so no more complaints. I will definitely recommend this phone to others. Waiting for the Android Lollipop update now...
