Much has changed for the better but somethings have changed for the worse because much has remained the same. Difficult to watch emotionless. Digs deep into black and white issues of the past and present. Raw and cuts deep. A look at reality which causes an uncomfortable feeling and deeper thought as to why and hopefully ways to make it better.

This film is profound and moving both emotionally and intellectually. Baldwin's words are so articulate, honest, and grounded in history that they transformed my understanding of the current state of our society. He is direct, never seeks to be cruel, but will not soften his points to make anyone feel better. This is a must-see for those of us who seek any transformation for the future, any real hope of change.

James Baldwin unfinished manuscript was used to create this Academy Award nominated documentary film. It's a powerful testimony about race relations in the United States, during the Civil Right Movement. It's a must see movie for everyone.

I had the pleasure of watching this movie with my daughter. Along with Mr. Baldwin's commentary, there were vivid scenes that depicted what is wrong with America and can be applied to what is happening today.

The perspectives shown, were very powerful, and the timing of this documentary's release is not lost on my either. Very timely, but some may have a few problems, if not open-minded and accepting.

Worthy of an award! May not appeal to all, but it's definitely worth purchasing/viewing if you are at all interested in civil interactions and understanding of other views/opinions/experiences. I highly recommend it.

In American history it is well known that tyranny will oppose any and all changes. Thus it is also known that nothing remains hidden and must be openly opposed.

I purchased this movie, but I have not watched it yet. I am enrolled in a class that requires a lot of reading and time. I hope to get to it soon.

Essential viewing for yet more history about 20th Century brutality and craven racism by white amerikkkans directed toward Black citizens.
