I'm writing this review on the computer that i purchased, it runs my most resource intensive games at full speed, with Chrome open, which is a ram hog in itself. The computer has a sleek design that fits well with the aesthetic of my room, i already had a headset that matches the computer (not that it really matters). Overall this computer is MORE than i asked for in many ways, it's fast, reliable, and cool looking! the only problem i have is the enter button on the keyboard, that's it for complaints. Would i recommend this to a friend, Absolutely. it's Perfect for the games my friends and i play!

I bought this as my first gaming pc and it has worked perfect since I had it. Mind you it's only been 2 months but what comes with it is enough to run PUBG, FORTNITE, GTA5, all at medium to high settings comfortably. There is plenty of space to upgrade components, graphics cards and the motherboard supports 4 sticks of ram with it already coming with 1 8gb of ram already. The RGB SHOULD BE THE LAST THING YOU CARE ABOUT. Enjoy the build and if you know enough about PC's add it on later like I did.

This is not a bad tower, it's affordable and did the job I sought. I wanted to utilize it to run X-Plane 11 on it. This is a very demanding simulator and the computer handled it like a champ on medium to high settings but leaning more towards medium. Simulators are though, I'm guessing it would do better with regular games.
Yes, the whole thing lights up red and you can't change the color. Fortunately and unfortunately my unit came cosmetically defective, the tower has two glass panels, one on each side, and one of the screws on the cable management side of the tower came loose, making me unable to fully close the glass on that side. I took it back to Best Buy and spoke with a manager and told him that I was using the PC to run pretty demanding simulators, and he made me an offer that I couldn't refuse on a more expensive iBuyPower PC (8700K/1080+Liquid Cooled).
Anyways, having had both PC's I can say for sure that iBuyPower is awesome, of course, the more expensive one is better but that is to be expected. Now, also having had both, I can say that I like the case on my more expensive one a whole lot better, yes it lights up in all sorts of colors, but that is beside the point, the case just feels better. It has glass only on one side, the side that matters, unlike this case. It also has a dust protector on the top, which this case doesn't have (I like to keep my stuff dust free).
I'm only saying this because iBuyPower does use this case on more expensive configurations, and I don't really like this case, but perhaps that is just personal preference. Like I said, for the price, this PC is awesome, and would totally recommend it to a friend.

I purchased this computer after doing research as I thoroughly enjoy online gaming. This was a significant upgrade from my last system and I can honestly say I truly am enjoying its capabilities. Its response time us great, the fact that it has a hard drive shelf to expand the hard drives is amazing. Upgrading the components is simple based on the smooth glass side designs. I look forward to many hours of gaming with my new system.

I give this computer a 5 star i would like to give it a 4.5 but it doesn't let me. The computer is very well made love all the specs and everything about it. The only reason i don't want to give it 5 stars is due to the false advertising on the box. If it says RBG and it brings a controller the person is going to be thrilled that he will be able to change the color just like how i was but sadly reading all the questions most of them said no it only glows red (Which anyways black and red are my favorite color) But anyways computer is a big thumbs up i love it so far !! ^.^

The gaming desktop is good for gaming but I was under impression that it came with hardware for discs and usb for school work. It was pricey not to have the hardware I needed.

The only thing that lights up is a ring around the fan and the strip on the front. There doesn't appear to be a way to change colors and it certainly does not light the case up. The graphics card ONLY has a DVI port, that's an extra $20 to use with most monitors out of the box, but you don't know that till you get ready to hook it up. There is no cd/dvd optical drive so no way to install those monitor drivers unless you spend another $20 for an external cd/dvd drive, which you also don't know until you're setting this up. Can't review how well it may work as I'm waiting for a converter to hook up a monitor, but I'm not hopeful at this point.

Brand response from iBUYPOWER Product Expert

Hello Kuvani, Thank you for your review on our Slate 946. We apologize for your unpleasant experience with our computer. We have reviewed your images and we would like to advise you to remove the black caps next to the DVI port. These caps cover the HDMI ports from being damaged and will allow you to hook up your monitor. Due to the chassis being fully enclosed and the current market aiming towards only downloading programs and games over the internet, we did not include an optical drive. Please note that we do not advertise this unit with that as a specification. We apologize for the RGB lighting issue as this computer does not come with this feature and we are working with Best Buy to change the image shown. If you have additional question or need further assistance, please feel to contact our support team: https://www.ibuypower.com/Support or Toll Free at (888) 462-3899 Monday through Friday 8:30 am- 5:30 pm PST Thank you!

I think this machine is a great balance of price/performance! Having a dedicated video card was a must when selecting my workstation, the 1TB hard drive with 16GB of Intel Optane memory built in was quite a bonus!

Great PC for the money.

So to start off with this PC has everything in it to play big games like WOW, EFT, Fortnite ect. on ultra graphics. The speed of the computer is fast as well. There is a HDMI port just to clarify the previous review on the product. The only bad things I have to say about it is that only the back fan and the front strip on the PC light up. There is no RGB through the PC and even though the box said there was and a remote was included, it is not. I was kind of disappointed but its not like RGB makes it perform any better. Lastly after just four days of owning the PC it crashed on me and somehow there was a issue with the driver and I could not recover the PC. I had to take it back to Best Buy and exchange it for a new one. I'm just guessing it was a bad drive and things happen I guess. Overall I enjoy this PC so far and I would recommend it to anyone. Also there is a ton of room in the tower to upgrade whatever you want.

I havent upgraded my desktop in over 10 years. When I came in to Best Buy in Avanel, they took me to another universe. I was shown this model and told it could handle the Oculus Rift. Boy does it ever! The graphics are seamless and smooth. No lag from processing power. The ability to bluetooth to my TV and Sound Bar made for easy setup and quick access to amazing sound. I started a YouTube review channel and this desktop has more than enough power and options to satisfy my needs. I encourage anyone looking for an affordable but powerful PC to give this a try.

I seriously do not notice a bit of difference between this computer (which is a 'gaming' computer) and any of the other computers that I have owned (and built) But it works - that's all I wanted.
