    It's Too Expensive

The price is WAY TOO HIGH for just a FM transmitter, and i don't believe it's worth it. Probably around $75 is good. The transmitter is very good though. No static at all really. Definitely alot better than most transmitters. Mine though, the top half of the case broke off, and i had to hold it together with a rubber band. After, the transmitter kind of broke, i had to hold the connection part a certain way, or else it wouldn't work, and of course, since I'm driving, it was really irritating, and because i was fixing it while driving, I got pulled over by a cop for speeding because i was trying to fix it....stupid.

    The best I've tried

I can't believe that this has actually gotten more expensive than when I bought it about a year ago. I love it though. It took me a while to get it programmed (my fault, once I broke down and read the directions, it was easy), but now my three presets have been sufficient to see me through four states. I really like that I can pick up my iPod and bring it up into my line of vision. With the iTrip, I would have to take my eyes completely off of the road, twist the unit around so I could see it, and try to navigate the menu from a weird angle. I wanted to buy a second one for my husband, but this price may be a bit much.

This is probably my 6th one that I've bought. It works fine but after a few months, it'll just die on you. Three of them, the audio only worked on one side of the car, one stopped charging, and the other was just defected. I've tried other ones but nothing really compared to this transmitter. I don't know why it's more expensive now. I'm deciding if I should just stick with my CDs and the radio :O/

    Best buy for FM transie

I heard so much about this transmitter and was getting tried of mine so I said why not. I ripped the box open and started using it right away. Instruction booklet wasnt even needed. I got static at 1st but once I found a good station and a safe place to set my ipod everything was great. I really cant see myself driving without this device. The dimming feture is very useful as well. I was very surprize at how well this device worked seeing how I live in the busiest area in the US, New York City but still recieved great signal with little to no interferance. Hard line is still the way to go but if you dont want to get a whole new car system the Monster i Carplayer wireless plus FM transmitter is the way to go. =)

Very good for an FM transmitter

When I bought this, I did my research on a lot of iPod FM transmitters, and found all the others to have 1 or 2 stars. I bought this one due to the name and other reviews I had read, and have not been disappointed. For the money, yea... it's a bit pricey, but I have got my money back on this product with my usage. I use it during drives to and from work, and on long car rides... The only times I have any remote issues with it, are in huge cities that rarely have free radio radio frequencies... Other than that, it puts the sound out beautifully to my 06 Passat speakers, with no hums, cracks, pops, no static. A top quality product, in my opinion.

This is the most clear FM transmitter that I have heard. It is perfect if your car doesn't have an iPod hookup and you want a quick, easy fix. It allows you to pick the 3 preset stations, which allows you to have the clearest quality possible in your area. As with all FM transmitters, you may need to change these if you go on a long trip since the station you use at home may be taken in another city. It is a little pricey, but it is worth it in my opinion. I have had it for almost a year and have had no problems.

I bought this about 2 years ago for about $80, so I am surprised to see it even more expensive. Cost aside, this product is serving me well after 2 years of use. I had tried a couple less expensive FM transmitters which did not work nearly as well as this. I have tried this in a couple of friends cars with mixed results, so a big factor overall is what kind of car this will be used in- I would recommend giving this transmitter a try over any other, just keep that receipt handy!

Best Wireless Transmitter I have used

Overall this transmitter has been great for me. It has lasted over 2 years and I get good stereo sound out of it almost all the time. Of course its not perfect but the reality is no wireless transmitter is...too many radio stations out there now. I like that it allows you to pick any radio frequency so I never had a problem finding a good connection when I am driving.

    Excellent Product

I bought this thing 3 years ago for a road trip, and it continues to be my entertainment in the car to this day. It still works like it did the first time. It's so great because I don't have to listen to whatever the radio wants me to, and there are no commercials. I play what I want, and it's so convenient. It doesn't take up much space at all, especially compared to CDs or tapes. The only trick is finding a frequency that is clear enough to listen with as little static as possible. This is great for road trips, or even just driving to work or the grocery store. The price has gone up a quite a bit since I got it, but even now it's still well worth the money. If you have an iPod, are in the car a lot, and are getting tired of the radio, this is definitely for you.

Works well if your city doesn't have too many operating radio stations. There can be interference issues if you choose a freq. to close to radio stations. But over all the sound quality is good and it keeps your battery charged.

This product is great if all you wanna do is rock out in your car. For the most part, its the best transmiter you can buy- blows the docks, cupholders, & the Apple wireless one out of the water. But, like anything, it can get annoying. It constantly gets tangled around my ebrake & shifter. And if you like to have your Ipod in your lap or on your side as your driving, like I do, the station-gizmo tends to get stuck between the seat & center console. When this occurs, get ready to have your eardrums blown out by static because you just changed the station selection. Thats no fun when you're really rocking out! P.S. Again, like anything else, the quality tends to dwindle down, as far as static, about every 10 months, due to pulling/moving of the cord. Don't want to replace it more than once? Best Buy offers car installation services where you can have a stereo cable hardwired right into your radio/cd player if you don't have an accessible jack in the front.

    Very good

I bought it in 2007 and was working great. Used it with iPod Nano 2nd Gen and iPod Touch 1st Gen. I just got a new iPod Touch 2nd Gen but unfortunatelly, it doesn't charge it. The transmitter works fine and I could listen to my music but the iPod shows a msg: Charging function not supported. That is not good for me because I'm always listening to music on the iPod and the battery dies. It's very good if you have an old iPod.

This is by far the best ipod transmitter I've ever had and one of the lasts I would buy till I get a car that has it built in lol. It can be pricy but it is worth it. All transmitter has static because it is through the radio but this one has less than any other connecting to the radio. Bought mine in 2007 and has it working great ever since

My boyfriend bought me my monster and I was in love. It worked well, you just had to find the right station. I was really happy also because it charged the ipod while you listened which was convenient . Then after about less then 3 months it broke. Nothing would turn on or anything. To me it would have been worth the money if it wouldn't have broken, and after reading some reviews I am not the first it has happened too.

I have never regretted getting this. I use it all the time on road trips. It recharges while it's in use. The only time I have a problem is when I'm going through a bigger city, then radio stations interfere. Also a couple of times I have accidentally pressed the button to change stations and was suddenly met with harsh static, but I think that's due to my own klutziness more than a product default. I'd recommend this to anyone.

I have found that very few (none, in fact) FM transmitters are really 5-star quality. Monster consistently makes good products, but no FM transmitter is even near-perfect. For the money, this product probably isn't worth it unless you expect to get a lot of years out of it (which you probably won't anyway). Sound quality in the iCarPlay is okay, but again, nowhere near perfect. Frankly, if you still have a tape deck in your vehicle, you are still better off using that type of adapter.

I agree with Namewitheld's review completely. I bought this product a few years ago and it's still going strong. I have a tape adapter on hand as a backup, but even though the tape sound is better than the transmitter, the adapter/deck is pretty unreliable too (I've gone through many cheaper adapters). One complaint I have is that this product has always seemed pretty high-priced and I've seen the price vary considerably from vendor to vendor, but Ive never regretted buying it.

    Broke After 3 Months

I thought this product was OK considering it broke after 3 months. There was a lot of static, but I just figured it couldn't get any better. Now I know there are more options out there for a FM trasmitter and not to just settle for the cheap one.

    Very Disappointed

My boyfriend bought me this FM Transmitter for my iPod because he knew the name brand Monster generally means good quality. That was true until it broke after 5 months. When it did work it was wonderful; crisp, clear sound in most areas, and I live in the city. Then, one day it just turned off and stopped working indefinately. My boyfriend bought one for himself after I had mine for a few months because I raved how great mine was. Big mistake. His broke the same way. Very disappointing, especially for how much it costs. I would have expected more from Monster.
