Not many people know about this movie, and when I tell them about it, and they watch it, they understand. It is really funny, but I could see this actually happening - I see little examples of it every day! You will see Starbucks in a whole new light! Enjoy your Gatorade....it's got electrolytes!

This movie has plenty of humor strewn throughout the runtime, but what is interesting is the statement this movie makes about leaving Capitalism unchecked. Even as we strive to achieve our goals and reach new heights with profits, we have to remember that there are fundamentals that should not be cast aside. Brilliant.

I give this movie 5 stars just for the first 15 minutes of the show. lol.. it is so true to life , you would have to watch it for yourself to understand. slapstick comedy, with a sobering hidden truth about life, and the direction it's headed. Got this at a shockingly low price at Best Buy as well!! Great Christmas present

Quotable, relate-able, funny, and a terrifying predictive look at the future. When first watch a decade ago, it was just funny, Now in the current reality-tv presidency this movie is almost prophetic. So while super entertaining, it might be saddening to see the reality of what was once though as ludicrously impossible actualize in a two year span of reality.

This movie was slow at times, but great for a snowy or rainy day. Almost cheaper than renting it.

If you like Mike Judge's work, this is another great movie by the man. It's a dystopian comedy with an insane plot about an average guy thrust into the future where everyone is stupid. It's ridiculous and satirical, so if you like that type of thing, this is for you.

Overlooked gem that has some of my favorite movie quotes about a military experiment gone wrong, and bumbling Luke Wilson wakes up in the future to be the smartest man alive. The President is a former wrestler (not unlike ours), and the environment has gone to waste. Worth every penny to buy a DVD again if I can watch this whenever I want.

This is a great but largely overlooked movie. While it has some flaws the underlying theme of 'is society getting stupider' raises some good talking points for folks who like to discuss movies and at the same time the story keep you interested to see what will happen

My brother-in-law recommended this film to me and even though I haven’t watched it yet, I know that I enjoy it. with people like Mike Judge in charge and the actors that have always done great jobs in other films I know, this movie will be very funny!

There are so many similarities to the administration voted into office in the 2016 election and this movie that it makes this movie more relevant now than when it was created. It’s quirky and over the top but that’s not too far off from reality.

Typical B-C rated comedy with some funny moments here and there.

This movie is so hilariously funny but scary at the same time! (scary in that there are many things in the movie that could parallel real life as it appears we are heading in that direction). You'll understand once you watch the movie...And don't forget, this review was brought to you by Carl's Jr. :)

I love this movie. I think it is a pretty good forecast for the future, only I would substitute inbreeding and irresponsible people having kids with smart phones and social media as the catalysts for dumbing down the population. Maybe a sequel??

This is one of those polarizing movies where people either love it, or hate it. I am absolutely the former, I love to watch this movie again and again and I feel it is a great addition to my collection. I think it is hilarious and it gets funnier each time I see it. Great cast and a funny story make this a must see movie.

Ok, the humor is crude and low brow, but this is just where we are heading. I love this movie and it reminds me that it is up to everyone to pursue education and advancement to improve themselves instead of expecting the government to take care of you and the media to tell you what to think.

Really good comedy. If you are interested in more depth to some movies, this one has a lot of social points to make about society in general, but in a very sarcastic and funny way. Even if you don't care about the "subtle" social subplots, this is still a pretty entertaining and funny movie.

Yea, this film wasn’t exactly cast with A-lost actors, but the story ranks up there with Wall-E as to what is happening to our country right under our noses. If you can get passed the decent acting and script, this movie actually has a strong message and is worth a watch.

See title. In all seriousness though the movie is pretty dumb but it is hilarious, and it's both sad and frightening how close certain aspects are to becoming reality lately. It's not Oscar-worthy but it's a good watch. And Terry Crews is a got dang national treasure.

Idiocracy is now. Just take a look around, no need to look to the future for the fulfillment of this prophecy for it is now in 2021. Good flick
