It was easy to store in or basement. It has more than enough storage for meats and other items. It is efficient and energy-efficient.

This freezer is a perfect fit for a small size room in kitchen or dining area. This holds quite a bit more food than I anticipated. Runs quietly and I hardly know it's on. Temperture keeps food cold and frozen. I have had no issues with it thus far and for the price I am impressed. I have owned this for 2 months. I recommend this product.

Got this for going in on a 1/4 of a cow. So we got an 1/8 more than enough room. Could have put the whole 1/4 in here. I make my own ice cream and this is great to have an extra spot so I can make multiple batches for parties. Gets very cold, using a digital thermometer I read I it was down to -20° inside. I have used it in the garage all winter and worked just fine. Recently this spring I noticed that in a spot the gasket wasn't sealing down tight, so it was allowing warm air in and creating frost. I put some weight on it and it sealed maybe it will go back to shape and I can remove the weight. Otherwise I'll just leave heavy stuff on it.

So far so good. I live in a 2br apt and space is limited, but I needed room for my meats and seafood that I buy in bulk. This was perfect. You don't have to wait hours before using, you can use it as soon as it is plugged in. It's quiet and my foods are easily accessible. And best buy offered it at such a great price I couldn't say no.

Nice size for the price and gets the job done! The unit is not excessively loud so that is an added bonus.

I purchased this product because I have only a small freezer in my apartment. I was concerned when I bought it based on the other reviews, but I haven't had any issues with this product and it is working out great! I also read the basic setup and if people purchase this just be mindful if it is tilted at all during delivery or picking the item up. I think others may have had issues because if the item is tipped larger than a certain angle it can ruin the freezer if plugged in. So, the instructions just say to let it sit 24hours before plugging it in. Just be mindful of that when picking up and moving this product. Otherwise, it stays really cold it is the perfect size and the space inside is perfect for someone looking for a small extra freezer!

My wife and I got this freezer because her brother is a hunter/farmer and occasionally has a great deal of meat he just gives to us. Obviously this all doesn't fit in a kitchen refrigerator with the peas and frozen potato fritters. It's the right size for us at 5.5 cubic feet. The interior is stainless steel, which is fine, though we would have preferred the cleaner look of white plastic... but at the price, whatever. It gets cold quickly. There's an adjustment dial on the front and a power light and another light that indicates when it's actively cooling. There's a little shelf inside, which is convenient, and a nonmoveable basket about eight inches wide and two, two and a half feet deep. The directions were clear. Unpacking was beyond simple: You just cut off the plastic strips holding the box together, and lift. That's really all there is to it. There's a sort of a styrofoam pallet that's part of the box that it sits on (more on this later). Things we didn't like so much... To defrost it you have to pull out a small plug inside to let the water out, which is fine, but it drains directly to the floor out the bottom. No frills on this one. They suggest you put a tray under it, but I see no practical way to use said tray to get rid of the water without sloshing half of it on the floor. You also need to lift the entire refrigerator to get the tray in the right spot, which gets harder if there's hundreds of pounds of food in there. One thing that probably is unique to the specific unit we bought was that there's a thin steel bottom plate that'd gotten bent somehow, leaving a sharp corner that'd want to dig into a vinyl floor. like we have. Our solution to this was to leave it sitting on that little styrofoam pad that came with the box. This would make it harder to drain it for defrosting if we use that plug, but we were going to just pull out the melting blocks of ice anyway and towel up the rest, either way. This is a solid unit that does what we want. It's not a gold-plated thing by any means. We got it on sale from $199 to $159. Assuming we do get a few years out of it, I think it's more than worth the price.

The freezer does what it is intended to do and it fits in fairly tight spaces. It is also easy to move around and stores a fair amount of stuff for a small unit.

Great job so far. No problems with Igloo Brand name products. Was freezing within first hour or so. Fits small space / closet of hunting camp / camper perfectly.(measure your space first to be sure) Moved to utility room of house after hunting season and small size made it easy to move.

We just needed something to take the load off of the dinky freezer on our refrigerator and be able to stock up. We did not need something huge, and we only had a couple of hundred dollars to spare. This unit is working out great, except after a few weeks it would not freeze food--it would keep it at refrigerator temperature. I unplugged it for about an hour and plugged it back in, and it's been working great since. I suspect that it may be because we have it in the garage, and it has been at least 90 degrees everyday since we bought it, and some days in the 100's, so I wonder if its little compressor had been running continuously and just could not keep up and needed to rest a bit. So I'm keeping an eye on it, but so far so good. Otherwise, I like that it has a light to show its plugged in, and a light goes on when the compressor is running.

    NOT energy efficient.

You know I read EVERY review here and all the well spoken ones were praising its energy efficiency! I wish ONE of the other owners would actually verify it's claims. Short Answer: Specifications Claim 172 KWh/year (Div 365) = 0.47KWh/day. Reality: Full freezer brought to temp -18C(minimum recommended for deep freezer) for 24-36hrs, then monitored with a power meter, consumes 2.3KWh/Day. ie: $88/Year to run vs $18 reported on the big EnergyGuide notice. Ambient Room temp was 72F. There are no unexpected sounds or other issues with this well appearing unit, I expect there are no problems with it otherwise. Nice feature is the thermostat has a refrigerator setting! I wonder if they gave its energy rating based on it being a fridge. The drain plug is in the bottom of the unit, a pan is required to drain/collect water. This could be good to plumb a drain outside, if used as a fridge. I really like the look/function, but I can't use it if it's taking as much power as it appears to be. I will be returning this one, but not sure if I should waste my time testing a second one. I need this for off-grid project I am planning and it's doing MUCH worse than a similar freezer I tested from 2002(which took about 0.8KWH/day). Please you freezer reviewers do independent power tests, get yourself a "Kill-A-Watt" meter or similar(there are other makes out there just as good). --- My notes: Igloo - 5.2 Cu. Ft. Chest Freezer: Model: FRF452 12:30pm Dec 12th, Ambient temp around 75F, Freezer about -18c; 25lb/3 gallons of solid/frozen ice in middle. 12:30am Dec 13th, Ambient ~75F, Freezer: -18C > 1.14 KWh after 13hrs: 12:30pm Dec 13th, Ambient ~72F, Freezer: -19C : 1.67Kwh after 24hrs. Freezer at temp(-18c), stuffed full of 7 Gallons of water, 7Gal/water, 2 Gal sugar, and other mass, powermeter reset to 0. 12:00pm Dec 14th, Ambient ~72F, Freezer: -18C : 0kwh 12:37am Dec 15th, Ambient ~72F, Freezer: : 1.24Kwh after 12hr 37min 12:16pm Dec 15th, Ambient ~70F, Freeser: -21C : 2.38KWh after 24hr 15min; runtime of meter also. before it said 17hrs in 24hr peroid. 1:15am Dec 16, Ambient ~72F, FReezer: -20C ; 3.58Kwh; Still testing, but I don't expect it to change at this point. Will post again if something reveals itself.

I was looking at several chest freezers and trying to get the best deal for quality. This freezer does not have the Energy-Star rating, but it is actually more efficient and cheaper than one of the other freezers I was looking at that was rated. It was a great deal, it is very quiet, and I have since filled it to capacity without any issues. A good deal indeed! The only thing that would make this better is a larger basket or shelf.

I think this chest freezer is great. It's compact and fits anywhere and it has allot of room in it. This is my first freezer so I will see how long it last. I also love the brand igloo is even better. The price was also great even though I didn't get it on sale but we'll worth the money!
