    Keep this in my garage to store 20 lb bags of ice and ice cream. garage gets to 120 degrees during summer when vehicle is parked next to freezer and it keeps all items rock hard cold. freezer has a solid seal and ice last longer after it has been hard frozen for 24 hours. exterior dents easily, but otherwise a good buy. it actually freezes better than my upright Frigidaire freezer

    i had high hopes for this freezer but it really does lack quality control i noticed frost, and water around the top of the door and i know from experience this means warm air is hitting it i then got down and checked the seal there was 1/16 to one 1/8 of an inch gap in the door seal and to confirm it i put a flash light in it and closed the door it was lit up like a Christmas tree all around the top under the seal i called best buy and they when very accommodating they wanted to know was did i want some one to come out and try and repair it or did i want to exchange it i chose to exchange and upgraded to the 7.2 cu ft model since it had better reviews and was only 40 bucks more the new one has passed all of the tests so far this door seal thing is probably what is causing a lot of these units to die early is because it has to run twice as much to keep it cool all of the cold is able to escape

    The first one lasted for 3 months. Great freezer when it worked, but it died with over $300 of food in it. ( Add that to my cost) The return was a nightmare, but they brought me a new one in 10 days. It lasted 11 days. Unfortunately, we had just filled it up with about $250 of food. (Add that to my cost). In reality I've contributed over $500 over cost for this freezer. I will continue to return it for a year (under warranty), assuming this breakdown continues. I will also buy a squaretrade warranty, tomorrow, for an additional year. Seriously, over 50% of the buyers experienced the same thing. The company should go broke for continuing to make and market such a piece of garbage.

    Freezer stopped working twice

    Unfortunately, this freezer stopped working twice and lost all kinds of food, including baby's milk. The first time, I called customer service (a third party vendor) and was able to reset the freezer. But it stopped working again last week. And we can't trust it will not happen again. So we will return it.

    Piece of garbage stopped working 3 months after purchase. Lost hundreds of dollars worth of food. Igloo is useless they sent us to the manufacturer Curtis who was even more useless. Gave me some stupid "reset" to do and said "it will be all fixed then" - nope sorry not "all fixed". Called Best Buy as a last ditch effort and low and behold Igloo is the one and only exception to their return policy. They will do an "exception exchange". Not excited to get the same product but i am trying to add the Best Buy warranty now so that I am further covered for loss, we'll see how that goes. Glad I made the call to Best Buy to complain, I would never have known. Would never in a million years actually buy the freezer again nor recommend that anyone else buy it.

    Don't Buy online without extended warranty!

    It is nice while it lasted. Try getting it fixed under 1st year warranty... You have to ship it... A freezer...ship it? It has to be shipped at your expense, after talking with an overseas rep, to be repaired with no more than "find a shipping company. Best Buy rep said, "sorry" there is nothing we will do". DO NOT BUY ON-LINE WITHOUT THE EXTENDED WARRANTY! (Or just buy local from an appliance store that stands behind you and what they sell! It would be worth paying more!)

    BE WARNED - THIS CAN'T BE KEPT IN THE GARAGE!

    We called to return this literally within hours of delivery. Nowhere in the online description does it say this can't be kept in the garage. When I read the User's Manual, I found this on Page 5: "Install limitations Do not install your freezer in any location not properly insulated or heated e.g. garage, etc. Your freezer was not designed to operate in temperature settings below 55 degrees Fahrenheit." We have another freezer, a Fridgidaire, that does not have a problem being stored in the garage. We've now done research and this seems to be the only one with this limitation. Unless you plan to keep this in your house somewhere, don't buy it. I wish I could give it zero stars based on how inconvenient this experience has been. Kudos to Best Buy, however, for taking care of scheduling pickup on the return with no hassle.

    Save yourself the trouble

    It took me a week to find a buddy to help me take it to the basement, so the first time the unit failed it was 16 days after purchase. It fired up fine, smelled for a couple of days while at about -10 degrees then the temp went up to about 50. Naturally, since it was 16 days after purchase and not 15, BB would not take it back. After BB gave me the wrong phone number for Igloo service, I found that the US agent for this model is Curtis International. Their foreign call center gave me procedure for a reset/defrost. After that, -20 degress for three days and then up to 50. I've done that one more time. The warranty policy on this is that I have to find a buddy to get it out of the basement, package it up and send it off to Chicago at my own expense. Someday they'll ship something back to me, but will I ever be able to trust my food it in again?

    Worked great for about a month, did its job, it froze the food. Went to get something out a couple days ago and noticed that some pizzas were starting to thaw, checked the settings and nothing was changed, relocated what food I could to my fridge and am returning today for the GE model.

    Stopped working after 6 months

    All of a sudden this freezer went out on me. I called Igloo and got the " its not our freezer we sell licenses to our name to it you have to call curtis international." After calling curtis international i did the reset twice, and after the run around of trying to get it shipped back, I was told it was going to be 45 days before they could receive it because there service center has gone out of business. I would also have to pay the freight charges and a $7 dollar insurance fee in a cashiers check to curtis international. The freight charges would be roughly 200 dollars and a $10 dollar fee to issue a cashiers check from my bank. So it will cost me ~220 dollars to fix this freezer under the manufactures warranty. No thank you im going to take my shotgun to it and file complaints with BBB igloo and Curtis International. All this was after I had to have 3 different ones sent to me from best buy due to damage during shipping (or probably left the manufacturer like that)

    Garbage

    This piece of garbage deep freezer was purchased to replace a deep freezer that went out on us after just one year. We purchased this unit Jan 4th and it stopped working by the end of March...just outside the store return policy. We lost a few hundred dollars in food and when I called in about the manufactures warranty they wanted us to ship the unit for repair AND include insurance. Really? Wow, that will cost me more than buying a new unit. I'm guessing they expect that. Customer service for getting help with your warranty is also just a waste of time. After trying to waste as much time as possible they usually try to get you to re-set the unit or they tell you about the wonderful replacement plan, which includes you shipping the unit across the country. Please do not store anything in this unit that you are not prepared to lose. If you absolutely must purchase this, buy the extended warranty. That should at least force Best Buy to stop stocking this unit because it will cost them a ton of money to keep replacing these junk units. DO NOT BUY THIS!!! This was my worst purchase from Best Buy ever!

    DO NOT BUY!!! This freezer stopped working after 10 weeks. I lost all of my venison among other meat we bought at the store. The lights were on like it was running but everything was thawed out and a pool of blood that leaked out from under the freezer. The whole reason i bought it was to store my venison and now it is all in the garbage. Since i'm a premier silver rewards member, Best buy took it back since it was within 60 days. Next time will spend the extra money to buy a better name brand. Really really upset all that wasted money in meat.
