Doesn't Last
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm so disappointed in this product. I bought this freezer to store pumped milk. Imagine my shock and horror when I went to put more milk in the freezer and noticed some was defrosted. I lost almost 50 ounces. Thankfully we found it before we lost everything. We bought it on November 11th, and found on December 27th that it was not working. We immediately put a temp gauge in it and found it has been a consistent 34 degrees and climbing. We have it stored properly in a well ventilated area, we have the proper space around it and waited over 24 hours while it was sitting upright to let the freon settle before plugging in. For some reason it stopped working. we're returning it tonight and getting a different model.

Don't buy if you value your food

I have owned this freezer since Feb. 2014 and have lost food in it not once but twice. After the first time, I called customer service only to get a crazy way to reset the freezer. (Turn the dial all the way off then all the way on 3 times, unplug for 2 hours, plug in and turn on to #1 for 2 hours, then #3 for 2 hours then #5 for 2 hours) This will reset the freezer? NOPE ! ! ! Unplugged for 2 days and then turned it on and it worked. Well today I went to take something out of it and it's not freezing anything again, cold like a refrigerator but not freezing.... AGAIN ! ! ! DO NOT PURCHASE THIS FREEZER IF YOU VALUE ANYTHING INSIDE IT ! ! ! !

I come back from the hospital to discover that it stopped working and ALL the food we bought was spoiled. Best Buy was able to exchange it (which I upgraded to a different model). However, Best Buy would not let me file a claim for the food since I didn't have their special store warranty. They suggested calling Igloo...which suggested calling Curtis, Int (see other reviews to hear the same story). Curtis was horrible and that's when I refused to exchange my freezer for another Igloo one. I was very disappointed that Best Buy wouldn't help since I had just bought the freezer. My food loss was more than my freezer cost. I guess lesson learned and I will shop for appliances at Sears or another store.

Do not buy!

Discovered today that it stopped working, of course right after stocking it with food, Took it back to the store and was told by the appliance rep that they have gotten four of these back recently and that he would not recommend these to anyone. Wish we had known that before losing $300 worth of food; of course we didn't get the Geek warranty as I'm old school - freezers used to be build to last 20-odd years, Best Buy did handle the situation well, gave us a good deal on a different brand but our "deal of the day" definitely got kicked to the curb on this one,

IGLOO freezer = IGLOO cooler, add ice
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this junk around Thanksgiving 2012 and less than a week later all my contents in my freezer was sitting in blood from the defrosted meat. I opted out of the stinking $60 extended warrantee since I planned to use my Monster surge protector. Had I purchased it I would have received up to $200 for lost food (I shop at SAMS, my lost exceeded that), something I wasn’t told upfront. The sales rep did however inform me of their rewards program! The freezers operational light were lit, and it hummed like it was working, but it didn’t. I was informed that I and my family would not receive any compensation for our lost food, but they would replace it with another piece of junk. After much angry words, I was allowed to a full refund. I now avoid shopping at Best Buy, once a place I could not walk in and leave empty handed. DO NOT BUY THIS ITEM

Poor quality

Even after 4 days would not freeze food. Everything ended up thawing. Brought back to store. Exchanged for same freezer. Got it home, unpacked it, found significant damage to bottom corner by compressor, dented and bent. Then, read reviews of all the failures and Igloo not standing behind product, but refering customers to contract company, Curtis. Brought freezer back and got money back. Would like to emphasis that all Best Buy customer service personnel I dealt with were great, very sympathetic and helpful. Recommended Best Buy not carry this product, it is not up to stores standards.

Died in 3 days

Set it up and plugged it in Sunday afternoon. Immediately it started to get cold and quickly was at freezing temp. Unfortunately, 3 days later it died. Its going back to the store today. I will be buying something else, somewhere else.

An unmitigated disaster

Called Igloo customer service only to find out that this is NOT an Igloo product but a licensed product and they will do NOTHING to help you but give you the number of a company "Curtis international" who "may help you". Never heard from them and Igloo washed their hands of everything telling me verbatim "it's not our problem, it's not our product". DO NOT BUY, IGLOO WILL TELL YOU IT'S NOT THEIR PROBLEM (even though it's their name on it). The only people who helped (a great deal) where Best Buy customer service.

Failed within 1 week

Imagine my surprise when I opened the freezer to find a bunch of spoiled food. I don't typically write reviews, but clearly Igloo's quality control is awful - and people should know that when you're buying this freezer - you're gambling. Just read all the other 1 star reviews.

Went bad within 30 days

I've had this less than 30 days and it won't keep food frozen. Yesterday I put a 1LB bag of ice in it in the little basket they give you, within 18 hours it was all melted. I've thrown away about $100 worth of food because this unit went bad, or just never worked in the first place. I'm pretty disappointed in the item itself, but I called the best buy store nearest me and they'll take it back with a refund, not just give me another unit I don't want! Good customer service from these guys.

Didn't last a year

I called the customer service department at Curtis International: they brand the Igloo freezers. They told me all I had to do to get it fixed was mail it to them. The cost of mailing this is almost twice the cost of buying this. Bestbuy would hear nothing of it and said I should have purchased the service plan. So basically, Bestbuy sells these freezers as is. It is hard to believe the sell an item that they in no way support. Next time I want an appliance, I either go to the mom and pop shop that will stand behind the purchase or I go online. At least going online, I know there is no support. I would not recommend this freezer or Bestbuy to a friend.

Stopped Working After 10 Weeks

And it was for my 89 year old Father, so now he will be short on food this month because he is on a fixed income and can not afford to replace the food we lost. Do not buy this freezer, as you can see by the other reviews it must have a factory defect or a design flaw and Igloo should be ashamed to keep selling a bad freezer.

Terrible warranty

Called service-they told me how to reset(not in manual). Did it twice as they instructed. No change. Called again for warranty and was told to ship it to them at my expense. This is a freezer! I told them that it would cost more to ship it than we paid for it. Got a "ain't my problem" attitude. A reputable company would have a local repair service that they contract with. Called Best Buy. They said to return it to them for full refund. I will purchase another same size from a better manufacturer.

Terrible freezer/Best Buy saved my day

I called igloo customer service to schedule repair and they told me that I have to MAIL my freezer to their location for repair... I was to pay for the shipping!!!! Never heard about such a terrible warranty ever.... Anyway best Buy took my freezer back and gave me aging card for the food... I'm amazed at Best Buy customer service...I will be buying a better freezer from BEST BUY soon!!!

Everything was working great! Went to get something out today and everything was all defrosted! $300 and all the time spent all wasted! Customer service was excellent, they are coming and getting the freezer this week and crediting us the money. Waiting to hear about the spoiled food.

Do Not Buy!

Worked great until today! Lights on to indicate it was working but everything inside had thawed!!!!!!!!!!! Not a happy camper right now! Ice cream and frozen entrees for a busy family is gone! Will never buy this brand again!

Not working after after 2 weeks of use

After more than 15 days of usage it suddenly stopped working. Best Buy don't want to exchange/return or even repair it because it lapse the 15 days return/exchange period...They want us to call the manufacturer, called manufacturer want us to call another company... Ridiculous! What a waste of money and foods. Avoid this product!

I thought the price was great but after a week and a half it quit freezing and my food thawed out so I took it back and they exchanged it for another one and 3 days later that one quit and I had to throw out some of my food it had thawed out worse than the first one! I took it back and just got my money back I was not about to try a third one.

WASTE OF BIG MONEY FREEZER AND FOOD

Warranty is pack it up and ship it to Illinois AT MY EXPENSE. WOULD NOT WASTE ANOTHER PENNY DO NOT BUY THE IGLOO BRAND... Hoping Best Buy will help me on buying a good brand one.
