Nice computer but came with troublesome mouse.

Although I am happy with the computer itself, the mouse that came with this Apple desk top computer is too small for my hand and awkward for me to manipulate. I bought another brand mouse which is working well, is comfortable and easy to use.

Many problem--no remedy from tech support

I have been a loyal apple customer for decades. The last two computers I bought from them, including this one have been problematic.
For the M1 computer
Pros CONS
•opens faster that older computers •mouse is overly responsive and reacts
•it's possible that some other things are faster oddly to slight touch
when not problematic •tech support is not helpful and can waste
(see notes)
•Apple does not notify of defects
•multiple problems with the mail program not
Resolved (see notes)
•problems with the screen jumping around in all sorts of documents--web pages, Word, PDFs... (see notes)
I used to love Apple for its support and ease of use. This computer has not been good in either realm. 1st string support was never as good as 2nd level, but now 2nd level does not always help to resolve problems. I have had troubles with my new M1 iMac since I set it up. Have had to call multiple times, take it into the Genius bar, and call more times. Both genius bar and 2 or 3 upper-level support people said the problem needed to be sent to their engineers. One of them even had me make videos of the problems and said she had sent them to the engineers. She did not send them to the engineers and the next person said I had to do other things first. Multiple upper-level people had me do the same troubleshooting over and over to get to the next thing. They would set an appointment to call me back but never called. So, then you have to call in and start over with the next support person who often demands you do the same troubleshooting steps again. For more than 6 months I have worked for an hour or two with multiple tech support people with no correction of the problem. When they start telling me to buy things or to erase the whole computer and start over (re-setting up can take a whole lot of time and trouble), I give up.
The page screen jumps around when online and in Word documents and in PDFs and all sorts of documents. The slide rails at the bottom and the side of the page move on their own. Even when I was careful not to touch the mouse other than on the sides, the page jumped around making it impossible to click on the location desired on a page or causing typing in the wrong place. I could click on the name of a document 4 to 10 times before it would actually act like I had done so, so that I could change the name or open the document. When I tried to put the computer to sleep it would sleep for a second and come back on. Often, it was non-responsive when I tried to put it to sleep again.
After more than 6 or so months, the last tech support person who told me to erase my computer, also, told me to buy a plug-in mouse (in case their blue tooth mouse was the problem) to see if that helped. I took the plug -n mouse from my old iMac. It didn't help at first, but some of the jumping around has now stopped. By the way, they replaced the original mouse with another blue-tooth mouse—it didn't change anything.
The mail program on this computer takes 5 to 15 minutes to send mail. No remedy.
This was my last buy from Apple. Can anyone recommend a good phone to replace my iPhone?

can't get matching accessories after you buy

I need to order additional accessories like trackpad or keyboard after buying the product. Matching color is not available you have to get the silver which makes a silly color combination look.

OPEN BOX IS A SCAM
Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
DO NOT BUY OPEN BOX. Purchased and open box online, didn’t realize it would be at a “Best Buy outlet” given a random brown box with the loose computer in it. DID NOT come with a mouse or charging cord. Absolutely NOWHERE on the listing did it say it would be missing. It’s a SCAM. They consider the mouse to be an “accessory” yet you can’t use the computer without it. Tried to call the store, only to be sent to a call center overseas. Lied to multiple times about getting a replacement mouse. Went into a different Best Buy, manager tried to help, ended up giving us a $20 wireless insignia mouse that uses AA batteries. No partial refund, no actual Magic Mouse. Nothing. Best Buy has gone downhill. The computer was listed as “good” but it is FILTHY. IT STILL HAS THE DISPLAY STICKER ON IT!!!

Pleasantly surprised with my new iMac. Everything I expected from an Apple product. Had been using an Apple Laptop, several years old and unfortunately could not up date the newest operating system so made the switch to an iMac.

FURIOUS!!

Was not made aware of a flaw in the chipset that is part of the processor in these iMacs, in fact what I found out through reading a tech article about this issue with the chips in these iMacs is that there is a permanent flaw that cannot be fixed with a software update, it is permanently part of the chips....it affects the M1,M2 and, the M3 chipsets and can POSSIBLY allow hackers to exploit this flaw to gain access to the computer. I spent nearly a $1000. dollars on a computer that may not be safe to use let alone do banking or purchase anything online....FURIOUS!!

Disappointed with New iMac

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
This purchase was intended to replace my 21" iMac. Instead it has not provided The same ease as
my old iMac. There is not any easily available procedures available to grasp the changes that are incorporated in this new iMac. Most times I am just left to look and look for guidelines and contacting HELP is useless where in previous times HELP was almost always helpful. I am beginning to look for a way to return this "state of the art" iMAC>

Item RETURNED!!! Was a majorly corrupted and TOTALLY UN-usable computer!!!! Guessing it had been used or somehow corrupted at some point before it was sold to me as "NEW"!!!!
I had provided the NEW, STILL in the box comp along with data collection from this one to a certified "MAC" specialist so that my personal programs and data could be transferred.... and the report I got back was he could NOT even open the "desktop" of the "NEW" comp!!!

Absolute worst computer I’ve bought in my life, maybe it has a factory defect but wow. Slow, crashes easy and had to replace the keyboard and mouse works when it wants.
