Hard Mode

What's great about it:
Graphics - When you choose to be good the city becomes vibrant and the people repair the city little by little, but when your bad the graphics get a darker look to them.
Gameplay - It's very easy to control Cole and use his powers. I think the best example of this is when Cole is hanging from a buliding and shooting at an enemy on a sidewalk.
Story - The story is something never seen in videogames before and because of this the game is refreshing and i will probably be playing it all summer.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What's not so great:
Good Vs. Evil - When you play as good i suggest you play on easy because hard mode is well hard and when your evil Cole is more powerful which is why i think this is bad. Cole should have been equally powerful whether he was good or bad but just with different moves. So if you want to play hard mode i suggest you take the evil road on hard mode.

So I'm about 31 hours/40% into this game and the story and presentation are amazing. Whether its collecting blast shards to increase your power, doing side missions to drive away the gangs, or chasing down helicopters by grinding power lines and train rails INFAMOUS never slows down. Just the powers alone are enough to impress any gamer with how well done they are. The electric repulsion shield just looks cool. This game feels like STAR WARS: THE FORCE UNLEASHED MEETS GRAND THEFT AUTO. You could easily spend hours just fighting gangs you run into on the street while stopping to defribillate dying people in the street with your electric shock. This game makes you want to commit to whichever path you decide to go down because of the benefits presented by each through unlocked abilities and personal empathy. I can't wait to beat it on HERO just to go down the INFAMOUS pathway next. IF YOU'VE GOT A PS3 I RECOMMEND YOU GET INFAMOUS.

Infamous is an excellent modern suphero tale. Cole McGrath is and awesome character. He's an ordinary person that is suddenly thrust into a stressfull situation. Cole is powered by electricity. He can be a good guy or a bad guy. It's all up to the players on how they will use their powers. This game revolves around your choices.
Every mission has a good or evil side to it. It's alot more complicated than it seems. Cole's powers are dependent on the players choices. If the player is good than their lightning attack will heal Cole. If evil, the lightning attack explodes harming everyone (including innocent bystanders). If the player is evil they will have more damage, if good they will have protection.
The player's decisions also affect Cole's powers. As you gain experience you can purchase powers. Greed for power can affect Cole's decisions. To unlock a certain power, Cole may need to do something evil.
The story can change depending on Cole's choices. The player may find themselves wondering how the story will be changed by the choices they make and will often base their decisions off of that prediction. Some choices don't affect the future too much and are just there to boost your chosen moral standpoint. The player may find themselves deciding wether or not to let the poor take the player's food or kill one of them to scare the rest off. Not all choices will be this simple. There will be a few decisions that have a giant impact on the plot. The story is often twisting and turning depending on the player's actions.
This is a wonderful good guy/ bad guy story, that has a few cliffhangers. Cole has a sidekick named Zeke, who is a hilarious character until a certain plot twist changes things. The good and evil endings are great and completely unexpected, and they both imply a sequel. Although I'm still not too sure about the good ending.
Besides the plot Infamous has fantastic gameplay. The city in which the player find's themselves is great. The player climbs objects so quick they feel like a ninja. It's like a platformer on steroids. I did notice an odd magnetic pull when I jumped for something, but I guess I shouldn't be complaining. There are collectible orbs similar to Crackdown, this sounds more like a hassle but it is rather fun collecting them.
Infamous' combat is extremely entertaining. It has a Star Wars feeling too it with all the lightning. Ranged combat is fun as well. During battles the player will find themselves destroying more than just there enemies, such as innocent objects that get stuck in the crossfire. Infamous is a combination of action/ adventure and a platformer.
Infamous is good at making the player feel overpowered. And forces the player to choose between good and bad. Even if you choose one path it is still fun to go back and play the other. Which is due to the wonderful gameplay.

Best 2009 PS3 Exclusive To Come Out This Month

I just played the demo for Infamous and to me I think its one of the best PS3 Exclusives coming out this year. The Gameplay is fun you can play as good or bad in the game. The powers that you have are great to use when fighting enemies. If you own a playstation 3 or you don't you must get one and buy this game I give it a 9.0 out of 10 stars the only thing preventing me from giving it a perfect 10 is that your not invincible and you can die in the game unless you find objects that you can drain electricity from to regain your powers and health. Overall in my opinion get this great game and a must have.

Good versus Evil, a great game either way

From Sucker Punch, developers of the acclaimed (and kid-friendly) Sly Cooper series, comes a darker game for mature audiences. Our "hero" is Cole MacGrath, a normal person whose life is forever altered, and is given the opportunity to change the world for the greater good, or to gain respect through fear.
The gameplay and story were good, I enjoyed the karma system, and variety of missions, and platinumed the game in about 20 hours.
Would definitely recommend playing this game and the sequel, both on PS3!!!

Even better than Infamous Second Son PS4, which I loved and played first. The graphics aren't as good as that, but they are terrific and the story and main character is even better.

First, I have to comment on the guy below me: You know are you an Xbox 360 fanboy when...you have to lower the overall rating on a PS3 game and spend your time to say it instead of reviewing the game characteristics and most importantly, PLAY THE GAME BEFORE YOU COMMENT k thanks.
I played this game for a few hours now (I know, I should play more before I comment but I hate people who comment before they know so I had to post this) and I had to take a break cause I'm hungry but while checking new deals on premier silver, I noticed the stars low and decided to check it out and comment on the xbox fanboy.
That being said, this game is nuts. The entire time I've played it's visually breathtaking, beautifully crafted, and feels a little like grand theft auto in a more sci-fi way. The gameplay keeps your blood pumping as you run all over the place, and what you can do is makes you look good on TV. My cousin thought I was watching a movie when I was playing earlier until I got killed (wasn't paying attention lol). The controls take awhile to get used to but the way they made it and after getting used to it, you'll know why they defaulted it that way (easier to manage). You can be good or bad if you want which is pretty cool, and the major bonus: There is actually a story plot! Too many games nowadays (I think best put from one of the interviews with Heavy Rain creator) are "toys." You play them and don't remember anything from it and are "oh i beat it, that's it i'm done." This game so far doesn't seem to be a 1 time game play because you just wnat to know what's going on with the plot. Metal Gear did a great job of story plot, a little too much but this does a great way to balance. Anyways, if you want a story plot movie type of game with cool moves that you can watch yourself do on TV, get this game.

I loved this game. It came down to this and Prototype. It depends on what u r into. This is mostly a shooter type of game and prototype is a hack and slash. This is 4 me cuz i like shooters like cod4. The powers are cool, the game is long and i like the open world. BUT great games all ways have some problems. This game has no blood at all >:( where is the realism in that. I am a teen who wants a game like that. Also no ONLINE! This would b a masterpiece online. A team of Cole's vs Reapers. Cole has powers and Reapers have guns. Free for All and on.
I give it a 4 because of no online. But I did love it. Cant wait for inFAMOUS 2 to come out....

Two Games For the Price of One.

You basically get two games in one. Not just for the story, but different powers based on whether you choose to be a Hero or to be Infamous. I have just played through as a Hero and I am now starting to play evil.
A minor complaint is that the game may automatically bump you up to the hardest difficulty after the first few minutes. It's still a good challenge at that level. It never reaches an annoying level of difficulty.

Excellent superhero/antihero game

This game is the first PS3 effort from Sucker Punch (who is best known for the Sly Cooper series on PS2). And it's a great effort: the graphics are terrific, the gameplay is challenging and (more importantly) fun, and decisions made by the player actually affect the city. The story: an explosion destroys Empire City and gives Cole (the main character) electrical abilities. Choices you make determine whether Cole becomes a hero or an antihero (he does evil things but still stops villains) and affects the story. The city feels real; people around Cole call out for help or make comments to or about Cole. You can chose whether Cole heals people or drains the electrical energy from them. As you gain experience, new abilities become available; you must be good to use some abilities and evil to use others. If you are concerned that all Cole does is shoot lightning bolts out of his hands, you will be pleasantly surprised; Cole gets extremely powerful by the end. The good/evil alignment does offer replayability; you have to play both sides to get the platinum trophy. You'll have fun doing so. I played as evil Cole first; I can't wait to be a hero.

I downloaded this game for free because of the PSN failure. Offering this game for free was genius because I'm going to buy the sequel.
This game is so much fun. It isn't over the top too violent and inappropriate for young kids. It has a great post-apocalyptic storyline.
Cole -the main character is awesome. The addition of powers every couple of missions makes the game continuously engaging.
The game isn't too difficult on normal but you can step up and make it more difficult through the options.
There are tons of missions and you can keep playing after you beat the game to collect every trophy.

Finally a game exclusive to ps3 that will make 360 fans jealous. This game looks phenomenal. The electric powers are awesome. At the end of the game Cole is unstoppable, you can summon a huge bolt of lighting to destroy your foes. Ride on power lines and glide to buildings. Playing as a bad guy really makes you feel powerful. The game has a great story and great ending. I'll play through it again as a good guy, then again on hard for the last trophy. Great replay value. Though the game seems short its really not, its just everyone so far is playing it. On another note, some 360 fans are bashing this game. It seems like ps3 owners do there homework. The peak resolution for 360 is 720 the peak for ps3 is 1080...this is a no brainer. The ps3 utilizes blu ray disc format. A blu ray holds 50gb of space. 360 uses HDDVD format and it holds 25gb of space. The ps3 has a cell broadband engine, one of the most advanced cell processors to date. This is also a no brainer. 360 fans are just jealous. Pick this game up and don't listen to the 360ers.

This is one of the best games I've played...definitely top five (up there with God of War, Uncharted, Ghost Recon, Call of Duty, and GTA). Great everything. You can move Cole easily. His powers are much more fun to use than the standard guns in most other games. The Karma aspect lets you decide whether to be good or bad, and each decision changes the outcome of the game, which makes for great replays. I just finished being the ultimate hero (about 30 hours...plus or minus depending on how long you wander the city); now I'm going to try being infamous...which I'm guessing is the point based on the name of the game.
The only bad thing I can remember (and this is really stretching for a negative) is some of the drop points after death; several times I was revived in the middle of a bunch of badguys and was immediately killed since I wasn't ready for it. This happened several times when I was trying to destroy the anti-aircraft guns, since they were guarded by a few dozen guys. Solution: be better than me and don't die as often.

Spiderman 2 + GTA + Knights of the Old Republic = imFamous! Every decision you make decides the outcome of empire city. This game is for any wants to be a superhero but does not play by anyones rules. There is never a dull moment with local street gangs that appear in great numbers as much as the random people on the street. You often find yourself fighting for your life just to start the mission and once the mission starts all bets are off. You always have the choice to be the hero and do the right thing or look out for number 1 and let the city suffer. Every action you make ultimately helps the city be rebuilt but you have the choice to affect certain people. Such as there is a mission where the badies are putting black gunk in the water tower across the city. You can either turn it off them and get it on you(which btw is not good but i don't want to spoil the story) or you can blow it up and it will go corrupt the water for a short period of time but it kills more people.

The storyline for the game was awesome. The open world of the game allows you to do just about anything, and there is no pressure to complete any missions. The only disappointing thing is that there is a tiny glitch in the game, where the graphics will screw up and you fall through the ground. I would definitely recommend this game to a friend! Definitely worth the price!

This game has excellent production values and everything about it is top-notch. It never gets old and the powers have good variation. Story is very well done and the length and difficulty are both about perfect (at least to me). Just exploring and having fun in the city is always fun and the effects/lighting in the game are truly eye-catching. Good replay value with needing to play at least twice for good and bad characters.
Only negatives I can think of are a little anti-aliasing issues and framerate suffers very slightly with extreme action but neither are a turn-off or take away from the game.
Overall I have been very satisfied with this game. Beat it 4 times and have put in countless hours just having fun. I would definitely recommend this game.

Infamous was a pleasant suprise for me. I knew that I would like it, but I did not know that it would be as good as it is. The gameplay is fun, and exciting. The game is motion is beautiful. There are no framerate issues, or slowdown. Watching Cole's powers during a heated battle is exhilirating because of how beautiful the visuals are.The length is long. I have mostly been collecting blast shards, and fighting enemies. You can spend hours just tolling around exploring without even touching the main missions. Infamous is without a doubt one of the best reasons to own a PS3. If you do own one, you owe it to yourself to experience a game this fun.

I have never writen a review before, but this game is great. Most games are cookie cutter shooters (and some are very good) but this is different. It is a cross between assasins creed and the force unleashed. It has a good story line with multiple endings (good or evil). unusual powers but still easy to pick up the control scheme. Some locations on the map have glitches ie) I walked down an alley and fell through map into water and died. but these are few enough not to ruin the experience. I would highly recomend this game to anyone.

inFamous is one of the best games I've played this year...if you have a PS3, this is a must-buy. I popped it out of the package and played for a good eight hours continuously and loved nearly every moment of it.
The developers did a great job of slowly giving you your powers, and giving each one a wow-factor, making you feel like you really are a being of immense power. You also feel like you're in the middle a living city, as people on the street will talk to you, take pictures of you, etc.
Unfortunately, due to its single-player nature, there isn't much replay value...but at this point I'm not worried about that.
