Many found the story engaging and the visuals stunning, while others enjoyed the smooth controls and exciting powers. However, customers are negative about the repetitive nature of some side missions and the game's overall ease of difficulty for some players. A shorter-than-expected playtime was also a point of contention for some.

inFamous Second Son brings the PS4 to light and truly shows what the PS4 can do. The graphics are down right amazing from shadows, to the rain, and the overall draw distance. You can pretty much see everything standing on top of the Seattle Needle tower. The Powers really are amazing, but I wish they would have allowed us to switch between powers instead of absorbing and then using. The only thing that really disappoints is the repetitiveness. Go to the area, destroy the DUP vehicle. Its the same thing in every area and the only difference is sometimes it is a little bit harder. But once you unlock the stronger powers it gets much easier. Using the share button for this game is outstanding. There is so much awe factor that doing something amazing you can easily cut and share videos quickly. inFamous on the PS3 still stands out as an overall better game than the next two, However, for the PS4 inFamous Second Son is a great starting point and shows what Sony studios can do with the hardware. Graphics, engine, and the gaming experience will really change and get better as these studios really work on the PS4.

This story follows a new character if you're familiar with the previous 2 Infamous games. His name is Delsin . I don't wanna spoil anything but this game is completely worth it especially for those just now buying a PS4. Character development is nice, Graphics are just amazing! Gameplay is smooth, and the voice acting and story are great. 1 free DLC or mission is updated to the game every week for the first 5 or 6 weeks since the release date.

Infamous Second Son is an amazing experience! -Delsin Rowe's powers are really different and creative than most superhero/villain stories. -The lighting, water, particle/special effects are absolutely stunning. -You have to play the game twice to truly see all it has to offer. Once as good, once as evil. -The AI is intelligent and won't just stand there taking damage. ...I would have liked to have gained one or two more powers, which would have also extended the story a few more hours. The final power isn't obtained until late in the game when there's not much left to use it on. That was an odd choice by Sucker Punch in my opinion. Still, it's an amazing experience. I highly recommend it! You'll lose hours just zipping around the city, using your powers and taking in the sights. It's truly stunning. A must for every PS4 owner.

Unbelievable game with absolutely striking graphics. Fun game to play and because you can play as good or evil karma, the game has more playability value. Movements are very fluid and the cut scenes look like something right off of a Hollywood production. My only con, the jumping and climbing. Even before you gain your powers as a conduit, when you jump it's almost like you hover way too long. Also climbing, the mechanics are smooth, but not as detailed in the movements like Assassin's Creed IV. Either way, not even close to being a deal breaker, this game is a must buy for PS4 owners.

Infamous: Second Son is a solid sandbox game with graphics that really let the PS4 shine. While the story isn't the greatest, gameplay makes up for it. It's fun to mix it up in a futuristic Seattle, and the many fights all feel unique thanks to the variety of powers at your disposal.

I was getting bored with the PS4 due to lack of games available and found myself playing the free to play games like Warframe. However, Infamous SS has kept my attention for the past couple of weeks. The visuals, sound, story, and voice acting is top notch. I'm not too fond of the short side missions which are similar for each district you try to take over. The game itself is not perfect but close enough. Second Son has a high replay value as well, if you choose to finish the game as a true hero or a villain. I miss the old electric powers in the previous games but Second Son has more than enough new powers to entertain and to defeat/subdue your enemies. This game is definitely worth every penny!

I picked this game up on Black Friday and it was a great pickup. If you've played the other Infamous games, you will love this game as well. The array of powers are fun to play to with, they feel different and finding all the collectibles isn't as much of a chore this time around. My only issue is the same as with the other Infamous games, which is the story can be played through twice, but play the Evil storyline really doesn't make much sense for the main character, but it's just a minor issue. Still a great game.

This game has the best graphics I have seen on the PS4. The lighting and particle effects are superb. It looks so photo-realistic. The open world city is vibrant and you can collect upgrades across the map to unlock special powers and abilities. The story is very intriguing, you decide if you will help the citizens on the city or join the dark side instead. This game is a true gem.

To start off, this was my first ps4 game, and I'm happily pleased with it. It's good points are the fun and addicting gameplay. The powers (smoke, neon, video, and concrete) were very fun to use and explore Washington with. The overarching plot/story in this game was very good, you really do start to like these characters after a while (with one exception). The game also looks beautiful, and has a great soundtrack. It's short comings are very minor though. The game feels too easy at times, and the main character Delsin Rown is not that like able at times. Other than those short comings, it's a great game and I recommend it.

First of all, having played the previous two entries in the Infamous series, I'd like to say that this is in fact the best one yet. You take the role of Delsin who has acquired powers after a group of three conduits, those with powers, escape from prison. He acquired his powers after coming into contact with one of the conduits. The GDP, those who take all conduits back to the lab/prison, are out looking for the three escaped conduits. The head of the GAP is suspicious of Delsin learning things he should know, so he tortures him and his family to figure it out. After waking up, Delsin is out to exact his revenge and get what he needs to help his tribe back home. Seattle is your play ground. You can run rampant and use your powers for good or evil in this game, and how you use them determines how the story plays out. Not only does it effect the story, but it also effects the powers you are able to use throughout the game. Let me just say that playing this game is a blast. Running around the city and taking down those that stand in your way is very empowering and fun throughout. With new powers and upgrades that improve your arsenal your able to help the city, or destroy it, in more than one way. Traversing the city itself is just a joy and you will find yourself just running through the city at times because it's quick and fun. While exploring Seattle you will find that it is just a gorgeous place, mainly because this game is gorgeous. Developer Suckered Punch has crafted what is possibly the most amazing looking game I have ever had the pleasure of laying my eyes upon. They really outdid themselves with this one. I'm surprised to get a game that looks this good so early into a console's life cycle and I can't wait to see what lies ahead. So far I have had nothing but praise for this game, so why did I give it four stars? The simple answer is the side characters and side missions. While there are side missions in the game they are very easy, generic, and repetitive. I wish there was more exciting stuff that added to the lore, but instead we get stop the drug dealers or take out the street musician. No, that last one was not a joke. The story is great and had my interest the entire time. My problem is that it felt rushed at certain points and didn't allow for the growth of the very interesting supporting cast. I was hoping I can get more insight into who these people are and what they're all about, but every time I came into contact with one they'd just vanish. One minute they are there, the next they're gone. There was a bit of bouncing around with that, and I wish it had been a little.more consistent. This is a fantastic game. If you own a PS4 you owe it to yourself to pick this one up. Don't let the 4 stars make you second guess the game. I highly enjoyed my time with it and Sucker Punch has made a game you want to play through more than once. As of now, this is the finest that the PS4 has to offer.

Another great game from Sucker Punch

This is yet another great game from Sucker Punch, the minds behind the Sly Cooper and Infamous series. In the latest Infamous entry, you take on the role of a new Conduit, Delsin Rowe. The game allows the player some initial leeway to become comfortable with basic controls, but wastes little time before dropping you into the action. The controls remain mainly the same as the previous titles, except for the additions of the touch-pad and motion controls. The touch-pad is used very well in this game and allows one to imagine how later PS4 games may take further advantage of the controller's new input. Motion controls are used minimally, but work well when they are showcased. The game looks good, especially considering its open-world nature. Reflections are well done and water in particular looks beautiful, amusingly in a game where landing in water is only slightly less disruptive than dying. Voice acting is spot on, and banter between characters feels natural and is often comical. The main character, Delsin, is designed well for an anti-hero. He begins the story as a basically harmless kid with a rebellious nature that often gets him in trouble, particularly with his law-enforcing brother. His past and immediate decisions before being placed in the player's control embrace the image of a young man still capable of good or evil actions, but he has more attitude than the comparatively-numb Cole MacGrath. Regardless of his shift into either good or evil alignment, the progression feels likely for his character. Unfortunately, this strict binary good/evil paradigm is where the player loses some of his or her freedom. By requiring a certain level good or evil karmic level for a good chunk of the abilities you can earn, the game forces the player to play Delsin as either fully good or fully evil to maximize his potential. In doing so, I feel that Sucker Punch missed out on an opportunity to present a third option of Delsin in someone who does not consciously choose to be good or evil but instead is a regular person that does good and bad things. I have come across the occasional collision detection and physics issues as well, such as falling through solid concrete bridges or bumping into a person and suddenly finding yourself falling from 10 feet in the air. Such issues are few and far between, however, and had little impact on my enjoyment in game play. All in all, Infamous: Second Son is an absolute blast. Side quests bolster the game's decent length, and their variety of conditions in the open world reduce the likelihood of them feeling repetitive. While it doesn't hurt that playing your opposite alignment offers a fresh perspective on your abilities, I can't help but feel this game would benefit from more main story missions. I know it won't be long, however, before I find myself itching to return to this world and take Seattle for another wild ride. 9 / 10

Best entry in an outstanding series

I have been a fan of the inFAMOUS series since its inception. As a whole, it's certainly not without flaws. The gameplay can be a bit repetitious and the quests are downright redundant at times, but anyone who's played the previous entries in the series is well familiar with this by now. As for the positives: this is the most beautiful game I have ever laid eyes on, bar none. The graphics and physics engines culminate in a way that allows for the story and gameplay to take center stage, which is a great thing in the case of Second Son, because we finally have a story worthy of fighting for. Being a fan of the superhero genre, I have been in search of a game that successfully conveys the feeling of possessing superpowers for as long as I've been gaming. Games like inFAMOUS, Crackdown, and Prototype have all come very close, but none have convinced me completely until now. Second Son is, hands down, the most convincing portrayal of superhero-dom to ever bless the gamer thirsting for that feeling. And being powerful is downright fun. By the game's end you will be in possession of four sets of powers, all of which feel different enough to be enjoyed for its own merits, and I find myself going back to each frequently for different purposes. Switching between them is seamless, as is using each for the desired result. I am currently on my second play through of the game, and I am enjoying it immensely. The karma system is better implemented here than in any previous iteration, and each branch differs enough to warrant its own play through. I purchased a PS4 solely so that I could play this game and, all things considered, I couldn't be happier with my purchase. If you're a fan of similar games and know what to expect from the inFAMOUS series, you will not be disappointed by this entry. I just hope that Sony can encourage its other developers to keep up with the standard that Sucker Punch has set for any "New Gen" game to come. The bar has been set, and I can't wait to see what comes next.

Second Son is a bit of a decent change on an already great series. The story is actually pretty good and has kept me interested from the beginning. This is in part due to the tie in from the downloadable PSN game First Light and an expanded type of gameplay. First Light creates a back sorry for one of the supporting characters that helps you in Second Son. The expanded gameplay refers to the combination of solving a crime in the game and online. You can take pictures of a crime scene and examine them online to give you clues. All-in-all this is an enjoyable game with a decent spin on the Infamous series that I loved when it first came out.

Infamous: Second Son is one of the best looking games available for the PlayStation 4 - as of this review. Although the game itself doesn't innovate too much from its two previous titles, the new powers that you gain feels refreshing enough to keep you engaged throughout the whole 20+ hour experience. Some of the highlights of the game include the traveling mechanics that you use to get around the game's version of Seattle. The soundtrack is great and fits the tone and setting of the game perfectly. And the voice-acting and cast all do a good job of keeping you engaged. If you're looking for a genuinely fun game to play with your new PlayStation 4, Infamous: Second Son is a great addition to your growing collection.

I hadn't played any of the other Infamous games, but the hype behind Second Son was high enough that I wanted to check it out. It's a great game and really takes advantage of the PS4's processing potential. The story is great, as are the characters and voice acting. Gameplay is what really sets it apart, though. Your characters actions are smooth and controls are very intuitive. I would definitely recommend it to a friend.

I purchased this game alongside my Playstation 4 and I am ecstatic about it. The game is one of the most beautiful games I have seen to date and the future of video games is looking very bright. The voice acting in the game is really nice, the dialogue and emotional reactions are quite realistic and believable. The gameplay is really fun as well. The combat is fun and the character you control has many abilities to use. I am still fairly early on in the story, but I have spent over six hours just doing side quests and reducing the level of D.U.P. control within Seattle. To be honest, if I could give the game four and a half stars I would. It really is not a 10/10 game but more a 9/10. The platforming is not terrible, but I play most of the Assassin's Creeds games the the platforming is not as smooth or as easy to control. The only other minor critique I have is the fact that the side missions are just do this do that rather than Fallout or Mass-Effect style mini-stories as side-quests. I also play this game using Remote Play and WOW its awesome. I only use the Remote Play function when I am away from home and the fact that in 2014 you can have your PS4 turned on and used to stream your game to your PS Vita is quite spectacular. Sorry for going off topic, this is kind of a nonchalant review. Overall, great game. If you have money to spend full price on a single player game then do it. Last thing, the morality choices make the game much more repayable. Long Live Playstation
