Customers are saying
Customers are positive about the graphics, story, powers, gameplay, open world, controls, voice acting, and action sequences in inFAMOUS Second Son. Many found the story engaging and the visuals stunning, while others enjoyed the smooth controls and exciting powers. However, customers are negative about the repetitive nature of some side missions and the game's overall ease of difficulty for some players. A shorter-than-expected playtime was also a point of contention for some.

Very fun, definitely worth the price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was the first game I played after recently picking up a PS4, and it was a veritable steal at $39. Definitely an impressive intro to the visual and gameplay power of the PS4. The story is good, but not great...I really enjoyed the characters you meet and wish they were more developed (at least one of them was so good she got her own standalone DLC). The main character has charisma and is fun, but a little short on depth. Game play is sharp and fun. You really feel more powerful than just about everything in the game - speaking of which, this is a really easy game. I had almost no problems at all beating it on expert - when I did die it was easy to see how I'd gotten in over my head in a fight and upon replay it was quite simple to go a little more slowly and dominate the enemies. I loved the Seattle localization - lot's of great landmarks and Pacific NW references - and all of it looks gorgeous! This could never have looked as beautiful, and run so smoothly, on my old PS3. Ultimately, I finished everything you can do (including the free "Paper Trail" DLC, but not the standalone First Light) in just a couple weeks and really there's nothing left to do - one relatively quick playthrough, and a second even faster one to encounter the different karma options, and that's it - replayability is basically non-existent at this point unless they release more DLC (you do NOT need Second Son to play the First Light stand alone DLC). But it definitely did the trick showing me what the new console could do and tiding me over until Destiny, Lord of the Rings: Shadow of Mordor, and Dragon Age: Inquisition are(were) released.

Captivating story and gameplay
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was a bit apprehensive on this title, as I figured it would be a game just to hook people into buying the PS4. I recently picked it up while on sale and I've got to say that I was thoroughly impressed by the story and gameplay. I liked the fact you get to make some decisions (though I wish there were more available throughout the story) that would allow you to change the direction of the story, albeit slightly. The lead character is fun to grow with as you progress within the game to gather more powers. I hope those skeptical about this title give it a chance as I have done.

A must have if you have a PS4!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I still haven't finished this game yet, but it plays really similar to the other Infamous games. What makes this game special in my opinion is the voice acting. I love Troy Baker's performance as Delsin (he previously voiced Joel from The Last of Us, Booker from Bioshock Infinite, The Joker in Batman Arkham Origins, Pagan Min in Far Cry 4, and more!). Anyways, my wife came in a few times thinking I was watching a movie. I recommend you to play this game if you like the previous games. This is a beautiful looking game too. So if you like flashy graphics this is the place to go.

Really fun game!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was my 3rd PS4 game purchase. By far the most fun. Graphics are silky smooth and visually it is stunning. People have complained that it is too familiar in gameplay to the first one, but I think that's a silly over-criticism. Really, this is just a blast to play, and the way character actions are executed is really satisfying. You need not know or have played the first game to play this one. It is its own game with a different character and well explained storyline. That long story explanation tries to make the most of a graphically rich cinematic experience but can become irritating for those of us who want to just get into the game play. Make sure you are in a chill mode to play this as you'll go through a lot of storytelling. Trust me though, the wait is worth it. Some of the story is cheesy and the acting is contrived (like most games), so I think that makes too much of the narrative painful, but these are minor gripes. Having to save your brother from a 3 foot fall into shallow water was pretty ridiculous, but again no biggie. The only big thing I didn't like is how the movements can glitch and the response of the controller input can lag on occasion. If and when this happens, it's generally been during intense fighting, but mostly it doesn't happen. I have also gotten stuck in a gap 4 inches wide which confused the PS4, but I wiggled and jumped out after a couple minutes and didn't have to reboot and lose progress. The controls are intuitive and easy and I think the overall experience is solid good time.

Great
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had the first 2 on the ps3 and was very excited about return on ps4. New character, wonderful graphics and new powers (smoke, neon, video and concrete). I thought I would miss electricity but you basically get 4 new ones throughout the game instead of one for the whole game. Still have the good and evil moments which adds to replay value. Side activities are still present as well. Would recommend waiting until after main missions are done to do these because in my experience the game ended quicker when playing concurrently with missions.

good open world game for ps4
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not too many gems to be had in the early life cycle of a new console. Fortunately infamous fulfills the void by giving some much needed eye candy, explosive effects, and most importantly some interesting and unique powers. I won't spoil what you get but lets just say I have yet to see any game that matches the caliber of creativity when it comes to what's at your disposal. The story is good, but nothing great or anything that hasn't been done before. Sometimes I wish the character had more of a reaction in the routine based activities in giving off a feeling like the character is aware of his environment compared to the scripted based story missions. That being said, I'm not looking for spider-man based one liners. Too many repetitious things to do in the free roam sections which is where a good chunk of the time goes. I have not played the evil section, just a complete play through of the hero side so I cant say if there are any story differences. The ending does provide closure but you get something that may have come in handy with your play through as opposed to losing the main motivation to continue playing with a brand new power. Its kind of like getting a new unlockable but after you have beaten the game once...sucking the fun out of using it to a degree. Overall I had fun and would buy again. I did pick it up for $40 and was satisfied...I dont think I could say the same thing at full retail price.

Flagship title, System Seller
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This series really doesn't get the credit it deserves but the Infamous series offers tons of Action and glorious explosions, everything you want in an action video game. Second Son elevates the same tried and true formula that made the originals so much fun with beautiful graphics and tight controls. This is the kind of game you want playing on your HD tv with beautiful surround sound. This is next gen,

Perfect gift for open world lovers.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got this as a gift from my brother. The game didn't appeal to me when it first launched, but I got the stand alone DLC First Light for free from PS+ and my brother loved it. The main storyline isn't too long, but there's opportunity for multiple playthroughs because of the "good" and "evil" choices. Also, there're a lot of challenges to do in the open world after completing the main story. To me it seems like Sony's exclusive version of Assassin's Creed. It's worth checking out for the sale price of $25, definitely.

Awesome Game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The first game I played on the PS4 and it's quite spectacular, it is by far the greatest looking game I've ever played, but looks isn't all it. The ease of game play, characterization is awesome and memorable, the boss battles and battles in general are challenging enough but not too obscenely difficult to master. The game does feel as if it progresses fairly fast, however you don't really notice because you really get absorbed and immersed into it. Give it a shot.

Great next-gen update of a fun franchise.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Infamous: Second Son is a worthy successor to its PS3 predecessors. The new cast is compelling and well acted, and the story, while less epic in scope than the first two, keeps you engaged. The next-gen power can be seen in the graphics upgrade, particularly lighting effects and facial animations. Most importantly, though, the new powers are just fun to play around with. Controls are tight and empowering. A lot of attention was giving to powers that let you zip around the map, which is handy since climbing and parkour in general is a little more frustrating than it was in the last two games. Delsin isn't quite as "sticky" as Cole was. Also, Infamous' famous morality system is here in play, though the evil side doesn't really feel all that fleshed out - the cut scenes are mostly the same, which creates a strange juxtaposition between Delsin's scripted personality and your decision to completely disregard (or actively work against) the safety of the general public. When all is said and done, though, the Infamous games are about having superhero fun in an open world, and Second Son certainly delivers a lot of that. If you were a fan of Infamous and Infamous 2, you'll be right at home with Second Son.

Excellent Game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The graphics are amazing, shows off what the PS4 can do. The story is great and gets you hooked. The voice acting is top notch and you actually start to care for the characters. Unlocking new powers is fun and using them is even better. Hopefully they make another one. This is on par with the original.

Fun gameplay
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I haven't played any infamous games prior to this one, but this one looked interesting and had good reviews so I gave it a try... And I am glad I did. It was fun storming through Seattle as a freedom fighter with super powers. The open world worked well with the story line and game play. I did not get bored at all and completed the game with all of the optional objectives. Definitely worth the price and a great game to showcase the PS4 system.

Very Fun Game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game is a ton of fun once you get through the opening/introductory areas and into the truly open world. However it could easily be finished in a day. It's definitely worth the price of admission though. The powers are great, the city is gorgeous (seriously, the update that includes photography mode proves it!), and the way you spray paint buildings in game is one of the most clever things I've seen. Definitely give this game a shot!!

Not groundbreaking, but fun!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Infamous: Second Son is a solid PS4 game and the first retail game I purchased for the system. I've been a big fan of the series, particularly the first game on PS3, and had high hopes for this one. It gets a lot right: the powers are fun and make traversal throughout the beautiful future Seattle you're placed in entertaining, the voice acting is some of the best in gaming, and the graphics are phenomenal. Where it falls short is in the general lack of innovation when it comes to missions and combat. You end up doing the same few mission types over and over to reclaim the city and strengthen your power set, but things get old pretty quickly. The enemy types also seem relatively boring to fight compared to the assortment of bad guys in Infamous 2. As a close-to-launch game on a relatively new console it's not bad by any means, but I don't think it quite lives up to the series' pedigree.

Solid PS4 exclusive
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you have a PS4 than this is a game you should play at some point. inFamous is a great PlayStation series and Second Son does its job well. Beautiful environments, solid gameplay, cool powers, etc shows off what the PS4 can do. Only negative is that the overall content is short and the game can be completed to 100% in around 10 hours or less, but can go for longer if you take your time. Hands-down the best PS4 exclusive so far.

Great game!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This has to be one of my favorites on the PS4! The graphics are very impressive and the gameplay is perfectly right. Although the harder mode isn't that much difficult from normal, it still is very enjoyable in its own respect. I would highly recommend you all to try this game out. You don't even have to play the first two games to understand the story of this one; it is stand alone.

Infamously great game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game is an incredible addition to any PlayStation enthusiast's collection and the infamous universe. This time around the story is equally intriguing and open to exploration with a new set of powers allies and enemies. The amount of new gameplay is amazing because of the great mix of characters, story, and especially action. Definitely should be a must have game for the PS4.

Best in Series
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I tried to get into the first iNfamous numerous times and just didn't like it at all, the movement of Cole felt too floaty and inaccurate. Delsin's movement feels much better, it isnt perfect but it's improved enough to not be annoying. I mainly game on the PC so i was really shocked to see how good this game looks, it even runs at a pretty steady 60 fps. There are some drops when a lot of effects are on screen but it wasn't terrible. There is even an option for 30 fps Vsync if the drops get too annoying. The story and characters are great. The voice acting is top notch, Troy Baker kills it as Delsin. I didn't think the story would be the thing that hooked me but it was. The comic relief is actually funny and the darker moments are really heartfelt and emotional. I had no expectations for this game and it really blew me away, my favorite next generation game so far.

Awesome game!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love this game. The graphics are crazy and the storyline lets you choose the good or evil route which of course determines the ending of the game. My only complaint is the main story is pretty short, however, since it's an open world there are tons of side activities to do. I took my time beating the main story missions and it still seemed very short, so it only gets a 4 star. Of course once I beat it on good karma I went back and replayed as evil karma (evil is much more fun but ending is disturbing). If you game for multiple hour long game sessions you could rent this game for a couple days and have it finished. Wish I would have just rented from gamefly or redbox as once you beat it 100% on good and evil storylines there's not much replay value.
