Great movie. I really like this story franchise and am hoping that they will do the last one still too. Lost Symbol got delayed because of this book. I am slightly disappointed that the story in the film is not matching the story in the book, and that is really true with the ending of the movie. There is worse movie endings out there, so saying that this story ending would be 'too harsh', is not flying with me; but I guess that's why I don't work in Hollywood. Besides all that, great entertainment, fast paced, beautiful Italian and Turkish scenery and fun to watch.

This movie follows along the path of The Da Vinci Code and Angels & Demons. It is feast for the eyes and the mind. I have listened to the book (on disc). Then watched the video. The visuals really come into play if you watch with the sound turned down low or even off. This is truly a stepping off point on an adventure too get you lost in their world for a few hours. All those places built hundreds and thousands of years ago, still standing today. Both beauty and craftsmanship. All done without electricity. Recorded now in a story (fact or fiction) one version of making fact and fantasy fit the existing remains of a time long since past. The story line continues. After you watch it the first time; then watch it again, only do it quietly with the sound off and see where it takes you (in your minds eye). Very glad we added it too our collection.

Angels and Demons came before Da Vinci Code but it was a great extension of the Langdon series. While Tom Hanks has aged since the last movie adaption of the character, his continuation in playing the character adds credence to the movie version. Having read the book, perhaps more time should have been spent about following the clues as the previous two movies did, and part of that enjoyment was seeing Langdon's mind at work. But, the character has grown over the three movies and, while not as good as the previous two, it's still enjoyable to watch.

This movie takes a step away from the typical Christian/Catholic histories or myths, and explores Dante's Inferno to an extent. The plot was a little more scattered and less linear than the others, and the twist was a bit unexpected, but not as satisfying or entertaining as I would have liked. It had more of a "um, okay, that's what caused this" reaction versus "that's awesome" or "cool, that's what they did". Stil an enjoyable movie, but don't go into it thinking it is going to follow the exact same formula as the previous 2 films.

The Blu-ray provided good audio and video. This is the third movie in which Tom Hanks plays the famous symbologist, Robert Langdon. I thought it was better than Angels & Demons but not quite as good as the Da Vinci Code. Langdon has to solve puzzles in order to find a deadly bacteria before it is released upon the world. The inventor of this new plague wants to save humankind from over population by destroying half of the world's current population. The movie has several twists and turns and will keep you guessing right up to the end.

I like Dan Brown and have read many of his novels. When it comes to Hollywood converting a good tale into a movie, many times these folks leave me flat and this is one of those times. While it holds true to most of the original story line, IMHO this adaption is modeled more after a "ride on the coat tails of an established franchise" rather than making a quality film. It is too bad that this series took the RFC [reach for the cash if you don't know what this abbreviation means] turn and I suspect that this may be the last of this series we will see. The actors try to do their best but behind their efforts you can feel the bean counters cutting here and trimming there to "maximize profits." Tom Hanks cannot be blamed for this; its just the typical and unfortunate road a successful series takes. Even the Star Trek series did this just to name one other [I can hear the flames now coming from die hard Trekkies of which I consider myself to be one]. So for casual entertainment, you could buy this providing that you do not expect too much more than just mindless entertainment. I did fall asleep so you may find it another movie from which insomniacs could recover. But to think that this film will win any respectable awards would be IMHO stretching it. Three stars is generous but I give the nod to the performers who at least *tried* to maintain their integrity.

This movie has great scenes of Florence and Venice, Italy, and of Istanbul, Turkey. You get a true sense of those cities in close ups and panoramic views. Many of the main characters, other than the Tom Hanks lead, change their moral standing (good vs bad guy) in the course of the film. If you enjoy keeping track of who did what when and why, you'll enjoy the movie. For me, it makes for a rather overly complex puzzle of a movie.

This is the third film in the Robert Langdon series. You should know what the film will be like by now. However unlike the first two, thisnone doesn't focus so much on religion. Only Dante's Inferno which is the H word (BB won't let me say it). But even then it's only the image, not the idea. Some of the supporting cast is great and some are just...there. Tom Hanks is great as always, but the way the movie begins, it's hard to forge an emotional attachment with him. That may be due to the director's choice of wanting the audience to piece everything together with Langdon as the film goes along but it could have been done better since it's jarring and comes all of a sudden. The cinematography is great and the score for the most part is too. There are some pieces of music that seem too much. Overall you know what you're getting into if you decide to watch it. And at 2 hours long, it's the shortest of the three. But when you watch it, there are certain things that are introduced that are never brought up ever again which could have been cut out (especially a scene involving coffee). The movie slows down at times and it can get very boring and the plot seems too convoluted and crowded at times but as stated it isn't terrible or even bad. Just okay.

every movie is not a masterpiece but they don't have to be - they just need to be entertaining and hold your interest from the beginning to the end - when you accept that movies are movies for entertainment and not reality they are easier to enjoy - this is just such one and Tom Hanks is good - I wanted to see it because I lived in Florence for 35 days back in 1976 so I wanted the scenery but still enjoyed the movie in general

It's the third installment in the trilogy. Not quite as good as the second movie, "Angels & Demons", and although the first movie, "The Da Vinci Code", was very insulting to Christians (I had to keep telling myself that it's only a movie), These 3 movies are very entertaining dramas!! Anything with Tom Hanks has GOT to be good!! Thank you Best Buy for your video section!! I'm dependent on you for my home entertainment. Please DON'T STREAM!! Streaming is good as far as it goes, however you're totally dependent on someone else's server!! That gives them way too much power on what you watch!! I want a hard copy in my hand!!!

I thoroughly enjoyed the first two movies however the third movie " Inferno" lacked key ingredients. It starts off with a great beginning however the movie fell apart later on. If you haven't seen the first two movies then it's a great suspenseful movie. Maybe my expectations are high but watching Ron Howard and Tom Hanks other movies I like to think they make sure the movies surpasses their expectations first.

In Florence, Italy, Tom Hanks as Robert Langdon, finds himself in a hospital suffering from amnesia. As always he gets involved with a beautiful woman, this time Felicity Jones, as his doctor. The challenge: to save the world from a mysterious airborne pathogen. Will he or won't he be successful? "Inferno" is the third movie in the series and perhaps, the weakest but it is still action-packed and thrilling!

Before buying this movie, I read several reviews. The overall conclusion of these reviews was that "Inferno" did not make the grade earned by the previous 2 films of the Dan Brown trilogy. Vudu's tomato rating was only 37%. But I decided to make up my own mind. It's an intelligent film that one has to pay close attention to. Once again, the combination of Hanks and Howard make this film worth watching.

Every time I watch this movie, it gives me such a scary thought that the world could really possibly happen just like this movie. Whoever wrote this movie really gave it some insight to our reality. And that's a scary thought. Anytime Tom Hanks plays in The DaVinci Code it not only gives you history but it also scares you to think that there's really beef type of crazy people out there in the world.

Bought this because I have enjoyed the other Dan Brown books and movies. In my opinion and as with most series of books and movies, the first ("The Da VInci Code") was the best, and things slide "downhill" from there. As for "Inferno", the movie WAS entertaining, and it filled the bill for an evening at home. It did seem "drag" a little here and there and was "cookie cutter predictable".
