    Great washer for great price

I rarely write reviews but I was compelled to do so for this washer. I did a TON of research when my machine broke. I needed a top loader because of space limitations. It seemed like any that had a decent number of reviews had a lot of bad ones, even the more expensive ones. I finally decided to go with something cheap. I was wary of the Inglis brand but then I found out it's actually made my Whirlpool exclusively for Best Buy. That eased my mind. So I paid $299 plus tax plus delivery ($70) plus new cables ($30, required if you want the delivery people to hook it up for you) plus around $100 for a 4 year warrantee. Totally worth it! I love the machine!! It does what it's supposed to do, the clothes are clean and in good shape. It's a bit noisy but I don't really notice it too much (it's on the far corner of our house). I don't need to leave the door open to avoid mold like the front loaders. It has a Gentle cycle (which the low end GE machines do not). I actually cleans the clothes (many without an agitator do not.) I suppose it uses more water than some of the energy efficient machines but I think the savings in reality is minimal especially because the energy efficient ones sometimes require you to re-wash since they don't actually get the clothes clean!! What can I say?? Love it, love it, highly recommend!!!

A basic washer, great for the price

I am a reformed front-loading washing machine owner. They looked great but did a lousy job cleaning clothes. I installed the washer earlier today and I have put 5 loads of laundry through it using various cycles. After an installation fiasco (NOT best buy's fault, sub-par 80's home construction) I got it running flawlessly. I took the extra time to level the washer, and while it is loud when it changes from one cycle to another (i.e. rinse to spin), it works well. I had a silent washer that cleaned clothes poorly so a little noise is welcomed. I do not know what other reviewers were talking about in reference to clothes being twisted. I have not had that problem. This washer was a bargain and I would recommend it to a friend. It is just like the washing machine I had when I was growing up. I have two complaints about this washer: it has no buzzer to let you know when a load is finished and it has poorly designed self-leveling rear legs.

According to the manual this 2011 machine’s highest water level is lower than that of the previous year, both the wash level and especially the rinse. I guess it’s the new modification to save water but in the end I think I end up using more just to get the clothes washed the way I like. The rinse level of the water is really low; just enough to keep the clothes soaked but not enough for a clean rinse in my opinion. Also with such a low rinse level the machine is noticeable nosier as it is smacking the clothes around. I have an outdoor laundry room so this is not much of a problem; indoors it might pose a noise issue. One thing I find myself doing is putting a towel over the top part and cover because of the low water level smacking- water gets out from around the lid, also the underside gets completely soaked (under the lid and surrounding drum). The spin cycle is rather fast but gets the water out. If you do decide to get this unit make sure to get it with the extra spin cycle switch. Funny, the manual says if your machine doesn’t have the extra spin switch you can rotate the dial at the end of the wash to any rinse setting and start from there. I perform this extra step every wash and wish it had the switch.

I really like this washer! I had purchased a water energy washer and it sucked with getting the clothes clean so it was returned. This washer wasn't very expensive and does a great job of cleaning and rinsing so that no water drips when getting the clothes out. I will have to warn you that it a noisy washer, not where it shakes the walls but you do hear it running its cycles so don't put it in an open area. I am able to wash about 8-10 pairs of jeans in one cycle.

i bought the machine online and did a store pickup...ive only had it 2 days but have done 3 loads of laundry...so far it works well...i was a bit concerned about the water saver feature as the washer doesnt fill all the way on rinse cycle, but the clothes came out clean and not soapy...when i picked it up at best buy my friend noticed a hole in the box and sure enough under the hole was a scratch...they gave me an additional 10% off ;) as far as the noise, i dont find it to be any noisier then other machines and certainly not as loud as my last one...the buzzer is no big deal to me as i would just turn it off anyway...so far so good

Currently work for a tractor supply warehouse and come home covered in dirt and grease. Was surprised that my work clothes came out cleaner than the 10 year old major brand washer I replaced using the same detergent. Drawback is no fabric softener dispenser, so unless you can beat feet at the right time, you'll need one of those balls you fill and toss in at the beginning of the load. Rinse cycle doesn't use as much water as the old one.

I was on a budget, so bought this Inglis. I have never been sorry, I bought it in May of 2007, at BestBuy in Denver. This washer works well, gets our chlothes, towels, bedding, etc. really clean, but most impressive is I raise Great Danes and it gets their blankets clean, there is no lingering smelly dog odor. It is much quieter then any of my previous machines. Good, Solid, Well made, perfect funtioning washing machine that works great for a family of four, with a pack of Great Danes. Not a lot of bells and whistles, but has a temperature, and cycle setting to fit all of our needs. Over 4 years later and works like the day I brought it home. Excellent machine, and the price is great. I moved it out to Iowa from Colorado, and the boys dropped it getting it off the truck, and I thought I'd be out a washer, Nope still works perfect. just has some dents now. Very durable washer. This machine is an example of how they should be made.

I got this washer after mine broke which was a very old maytag washer. I loved the price and it works great! There is a ton of room in this washer too. The only downside is that its very loud, its not a problem if you keep it in your garage but dont put it in an open area. Theres many features on this washer and its made by whirlpool!!

My washer sprung a leak right around the time that I had neglected to do laundry for a week or so. I decided that I would purchase a new one because the cost in time, inconvenience, plus money would far exceed the higher monetary price of a new washer. I searched and searched and finally found this one at Best Buy. It is a basic washer. It gets the clothes clean. It is more efficient with energy and water than my old washer. The trouble is that it is rather noisy during the wash and especially during the spin. When I buy another washer - hopefully a VERY long time from now, I may care more about the noise...but since I have many children in my home, the machine is usually drowned out by children anyway.

This is truly a best buy for any type of money, I bought the washer and the companion dryer, The washer I will do seperately from dryer however they both are excellent. I have owned this washer for 3 month, recently moved and needed a new washer and dryer. I have done appx. 34 loads with this washer and it works great. I recommend you follow the normal rules of useing any washing machine and not overload it and wipe it out when your done. Should last longer than the "Lady" brand I bought my exwife that cost me as small fortune and didnt last two years. I have never found a quiet washer in my life they all make a certain amount of noise. However this machine does not make any more noise than the high priced brands, and believe me I have owned some, and probably a lot less. A buzzer would be nice but for the price I will use an egg timer and have the best quality and the best buy. You ever get rid of this brand, Yes I know Inglis is Canadian Whirlpool, I will be terribly disappointed and probably put a curse on you lol.

I had originally ordered a more expensive washer from another store and it was SO LOUD i thought the floor was going to cave in. This washer is exactly what i wanted. There are a couple of different settings, it's quiet and the clothes are so much cleaner. Thanks BestBuy!

Machine is narrower, quieter, and faster than the one it replaced. Seems to use less water, less detergent, rinses thoroughly and cleans the clothes. Simple controls without a lot of unnecessary stuff.

No bells and whistles, just a large capacity washer drum with the basic settings. Allows pre-soak, large loads, thorough cleaning of even filthy clothes. We use this several times a week, and did not see the need to buy a washer with special cycles and features that rarely get used. Had ordered a "green" washer, but were disappointed with the performance, returned it using the free pick up promotion. This washer is a basic do it all appliance.

I don't have very much money and my washer broke, wasn't repairable so I needed a washer. I looked at used washers, but this washer was on sale (big sale) and new. I read the reviews and they seemed good enough to make me feel safe enough to buy this machine. Bad move! Yes it's noisy, not a big problem, it's the rinse cycle. I knew it didn't have a softener dispenser and that is ok, I also knew the rinse cycle was a water saver rinse cycle, this is the problem! I have to rinse my clothes 2 or more times each load. I have to wash smaller loads because of this, it sure doesn't save me money and water! Please put in a little more money and buy ANYTHING else!! I promise you, it will be the right decision....

Perfect basic washer. It does what I need it to, it cleans the clothes. Unit is VERY noisy, sounds like something hitting a brick wall when it changes from wash to rinse cycle.

For the price I paid this washer is great. The first one that was delivered to my house, however, was not functioning correctly. It would stop right before the spin cycle and it took a little while of messing around with it to get it going again. With the second load of laundry, it again stopped before the spin cycle and took even longer to get it going again and then stopped mid spin cycle...this time I couldnt get it going again and my clothes were soaking wet and water was just sitting in the washer. I got a 2nd washer delivered 2 WEEKS LATER...I havent had a problem with the new one yet !(knock on wood)

it is a great washer for the money just remove a piece out of back when you set up yourself. best buy employee never told us and we thought something was wrong. this brand is made by whirlpool and i had my last whirlpool for 10 yrs. so far now that the piece is out it works good buy the warrenty so they have to come fix it that way its all covered. its not a quite pack but it is not loud either. i love the washer especially for the price due to how much they cost now. i would buy this one again. i have already put a comforter in this one. also it seems as it washes clothes quicker than my old one.

    Perhaps too much EPA regulations

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Can't blame this on Whirlpool. Apparently, new EPA regulations stipulate energy savings and less water usage. Consequently, the machine can't clean as much laundry as the one I replaced (also a whirlpool which lasted about 7 years) and you have to run it thru a full wash cycle after it finishes to rinse the soap out of the clothes. The blending of hot with cold for a warm wash is a joke and even the hot cycle gets toned down with cold water a periodically filling during the fill portion of the wash cycle. Bottom line, clothes don't get cleaned and rinsed properly. Ironically, you have to run the same load of laundry twice to perform a true rinse. Don't know if this is an issue for every machine on the market but I'll pay more attention the next time I replace a washer. I went back to the store in Springfield and asked the department sales associate. Naturally, they had no idea but thanked me for bringing it to their attention.

    Works good

I bought this washer as a gift to my daughter because she just had her 3rd child and didn't have a washing machine and it was too hard walking to a laundry mat with the kids and laundry and soap, etc. She lives in another state but they have Best Buy so instead of having it delivered, I had it picked up from the store. it arrived right ontime and so far, she says it works great. Some people have complained of it being noisy, but my daughter has hers in a downstairs basement, so she doesn't hear it. So I do not know how noisy or if it is noisy. It was easy to install and my daughter says it gets their clothes nice and clean. I bought the 2 year warranty and we thought she needed to call them over because the machine would only drain 1/2 the time. As it turns out, the drain pipe (not on the machine)was partially clogged and once my daughter unclogged it, it has worked perfectly ever since. She got the machine the 1st week of Sept. 2011. She loves it.
