I am constantly filling up my rooms with different types of shelves for my media. My previous lamp I had in my room finally broke down, so it seemed like the perfect time to buy this product. Not only is this product a lamp that will fulfill my lighting needs, but from the looks of the pictures it also had plenty of shelf space to store my media. Assembly was pretty easy as everything can be assembled without any tools. Most of it was basically just using your hands to screw things in, and the instructions are probably not even needed until the end for you to figure out how to put the lamp together, but even that may not be needed. There does seem to be some issues with the variation of quality with many of the identical parts that were used. Though it didn't make it hard to assemble it certainly made me feel a bit nervous as I was putting it together, and cautiously looking over every part I was assembling. The price itself is great for a decent looking lamp as many lamps I have taken a look prior to this purchase had been less than spectacular, and the cheap ones were pretty ugly. The price is also great because the lamp provides four open shelves that can store up to 14 DVDs in the lower 4 shelves as I have them now, but the top, fifth shelf, unfortunately can not store DVDs or CDs properly as the lamp switch sticks too far out that is it near dead center of the shelf, and therefore obstruct DVDs or CDs that are stored near the center of that particular shelf. You may fit some on the sides of that shelf, so ideally you can definitely have the max DVDs or CDs as advertised without getting in the way of the lightswitch, but definitely be aware that the light switch will obstruct media placed on that shelf. The shelves are pretty deep though, so it's nice that you can put other things besides media on the shelves. The other drawback on the shelves is that there isn't any backing to them except the one singular pole at the back of each shelf, so that may be an irritant for some who likes to push their media all the way to the back to make them even, and with these shelves all that will happen is push the media off the shelf if you did that. The lamp does have some issues with continuity due to the whole manual assembly. There are slight tilts unfortunately depending on how you assembled the unit, and it may take some extra readjusting before you get it to stand completely straight, but I am not sure if that is possible as I've spent a good half an hour readjusting all the parts to no avail. It definitely doesn't affect whether or not it will stand relatively straight because the base is pretty wide, and definitely gives it enough balance. It's not the most solid unit I have ever owned, but for the price it certainly was a lot better than expected, and generally lamps around this price aren't that sturdy to begin with, so this is just pretty sturdy in comparison. The lamp itself is also moderately bright, but lamps with shades usually don't aren't that bright anyways, so it works out just fine for what it is. The lamp gives a very mellow lighting mood for my room, so it fits the decor quite well. The lamp shade however, does need to have some adjustments before you put it in for the final setting. Because the shade had been folded to fit the packaging when you remove it from the package it will be a bit tilted once you take it out, and you will have to crease it evenly the other way to make it fit right as the lamp shade only has for little pieces of plastic that holds it in place (which pops out pretty easily), so definitely adjust it when it's not in the lamp for an easier time. It should be shaped like a square when looking at it from above, and not a trapezoid, or some sort of an obscured square shape. If you don't even it out the shape will sag to one side in the lamp frame, and trust me, you will notice it. Overall: Decent lamp, okay shelf, easy assembly, solid enough, great price, looks nice, happy with purchase.

I bought 2 of these lamps to have a place to put my surround sound speakers on. I love the way that they look, clean and modern. There are multiple shelves which is great to put little decorations on, along with my surround sound speakers. The lamps are light weight and easy to assemble. But ultimately for the price, they simply can't be beat!

We bought two of these for our living room and they work great. For the price they are just great, lots of light using our CFL bulbs we already had. Much needed storage for little things, the lamps seem plenty sturdy and went together in just a few minutes.

I love this lamp! It was really easy to put together and it looks amazing in my apt - a must have for someone with a 300 sq ft apt and needs to make the most out of their space. It looks really high quality too, what an amazing value. Def recommend!

This lamp was a perfect addition for my new place. It was easy to assemble and looks great!!! The storage shelves are perfect for holding candles, pictures, nick-nacks, or disks.

I was impressed with the quality of the instructions and easy set up. All holes were pre-drilled AND a metal insert was already in place with machine threads to assist perfect assembly each time. We're even going to get a second one to have a matching set for another side of the room. The Lamp shade a thick high quality fabric that cast a warm glow on the room. Again can't help but remark on how well it was designed. Took less than 7 minutes to set up.

Been needing a new lamp for my room and storage at the same time. All the ones I've seen we're either too tall/pricey or not recommended till I found this. I love this item. It is great and holds all of my junk. I don't store dvds/games on it but I do put my my portable HD, iPod alarm dock, and a couple lightweight books and holds up to it. I'd say it is pretty stable. Have had no serious issues and I've had it for about a year now. Assembly is easy, the only frustrating thing I had was putting the little pill size pillar for he shade since I had no hammer around to shove it in. I even lost a couple piece but the shade hold in still. For the price it's a great buy and I would totally recommended.

Purchased two of these, now flanking 40-inch flat screen TV on stand with riser, providing ambient light for vaulted ceiling room with no ceiling lighting. Currently using 100-watt equivalent CFL bulbs, these lamps provide a soft, diffused lighting patter below eye level, and a torchiere pattern above, providing easy lighting of a 400 square foot room. Switch is pull chain type extending into the first shelf area, so you would want to be careful about what you store there. Very easy assembly (took less than 40 minutes for both). Have not tried loading shelves yet (these just arrived yesterday), but am skeptical that stated capacity can be realistically met without overloading. The look is very casual, and the style should match a variety of uses.

I loved these!!! We bought them for DVD storage, but when we got them home we decided they were far to pretty to clutter up with DVDs. The lights are bright and they were easy to put together. They took about 20min to put together and were so worth the time!!!!

I bought this because I needed both a lamp and shelving to put stuff on. This item was reasonably priced and was perfect for what I needed it for. The shelves are not terribly big, but they do hold a few items. The lamp puts off a good amount of light. The entire fixture does not seem to be flimsy in any way. It is also nice to look at! Glad I bought it.

This is a great lamp/shelving combo unit - especially for the price. It looks good and works perfectly for someone like me who doesn't have an extensive CD/DVD collection...no need for one of those bookcase-type things. The spacing between shelves is decent so there is some flexibility to decorate with knickknacks, although the shelves themselves are a bit smaller than I was expecting (I have a picture frame on one that pretty much takes up the whole thing). The lamp puts out decent light even without a maximum-wattage bulb.

I usually don't write positive reviews for "good" products, but this lamp worth it. I got it in 2 days with free shipping and assembled it in 10 mins. Great apperance, good quality.
