I have been wanting a record player for a while, since I had to leave my previous record player/stereo system behind when I moved out of my parents' house over twenty years ago. I never had much of a record collection to begin with, so I never really thought about it. That is, until very recently when I entered a Barnes & Noble for a gift card for the holidays for a friend. The first thing I encountered upon entering the store was a record/vinyl display. I nearly forgot to get my friend her gift card as I rummaged through the display and found three records, and decided to purchase them (Yes, I know, no record player to play them on, but I bought them anyway). I would have bought more if, A. I'd had the time to continue looking, and B., had the money to spend on the records, which all seemed to average around $25. So that left finding something to play them on. I looked online at various sites, and finally came here to the Best Buy website. I knew I specifically wanted an old-style record player, and it would have to be able to play cassettes, and the odd CD. An AM/FM radio would be a bonus, but I could have lived without it, I suppose. Luckily, I found this record player, and another one. There were no reviews for the other one, so either no one likes it, or it's just very new, and not enough people have tried it yet. Then there was this one. Based upon the reviews, people seemed to like it, and it not only had everything I was looking for, but it came with an extra bonus, a remote control. So I printed out information on this player, and a day or two later, headed over to my local Best Buy, talked to a Electronic Representative, and placed an order for this device. I specifically went into the Best Buy as opposed to ordering online, due to my not wanting to put this purchase on my credit card, and so I was able to write a check, and due to living in a cold climate, and this being a delicate electronic device, I didn't want it shipped to my home, I wanted to be able to pick it up at the store, and ordering it online would not have given me an option to pick it up at a store (I checked prior to ordering). I have just picked up the record player today. It was easy to set up. I have not put batteries into the remote yet, but will do so shortly. I tried out the radio, and the sound is definitely more than decent. Is it like a top quality stereo? No, of course not, but it is certainly better than average, and you can easily blare the speakers if you wish. I just finished listening to one side of one of my new LPs (a CCR record), and the sound was clear, and concise. I am VERY pleased with my selection of this record player/stereo system. I cannot comment yet on the cassette function due to not having used it yet, however, having read the instruction manual, I am rather dismayed that there is no rewind function, only a fast forward function. Whomever has been designing these units obviously never grew up during the cassette era, or they'd know the value of making the rewind function available in addition to the fast forward feature. Still, it's livable, and when I looked at other record players prior to purchasing this one, I was unable to find one on any unit which offered a rewind function. So, note to the developers, when you make any upgrades to this system, please add a rewind feature. It IS necessary. Also, a record option would be great, also since those of us who are old enough to remember cassettes, and still have cassettes, miss the days of being able to make our own tapes off the radio. Yeah, homemade CDs are nice, but you can't record and stop, record and stop, to make the "perfect" CD the way you can with cassettes. As to the MP3 and Bluetooth function, I can't comment on it, and likely never will be able to comment on them because I just don't understand those functions, and will most likely never use them. Overall, though, I'm really happy with this unit, and highly recommend it if you're looking for something that has an old-school feel, but can handle modern technology as well as old records and cassettes. And the volume is more than decent. Bose quality? No. Again though, good quality and it does reach LOUD levels.

This is a replacement to the first one. This seems to work very well although I've not tried the record player or copying CDs yet. Pleased so far.

This unit has a real wood or wood product cabinet coupled with 2 way speakers which deliver a pleasing full sound compared to a less expensive model. Originally I purchased and returned the less expensive version of this music center by Innovative because of its lack of fidelity. The play and record ability for vinyl to CD or cassette is a bit clumsy initially but improves with practice and offers my generation an inexpensive means of duplicating and sharing prized vinyl albums onto CD or cassette at little cost. The unit looks older than me which I find very appealing although it was manufactured in June of 2015 and makes a sincere effort to imitate quality found only to long ago. This unit has been updated to 2 way speakers which delivers a much improved sound over the cheaper model. I wish the speakers were vented to the side to enhance stereo separation and sadly although it sports dual sets of audio inputs there are no audio outputs which means no external speakers despite its more than substantial volume. Tone and balance are preset and I would pay more to have those controls. OK its not perfect but its not in the Bose price range, dollar for dollar it delivers good fidelity and performs some very handy audio transcriptions with ease as well as have a turntable around again. I'm keeping this one.

I had been wanting one of these units for a few years now. Finally, this model was on sale , I picked it up at the store, brought it home, etc. The first thing I noticed was the AM/FM button wasn't really working. I figured "Oh Well" Ijust use remote. No problem there. Several days ago I was listening to the radio and suddenly it stopped working. Nothing worked on the unit. No power, Nothing. I even tried moving it to different outlets thinking it might be the plug. I had it on a Surge Protector as I have all my devices on protectors. I even tried turning it on with the remote. Nothing. I took it back to the store tonight and received a Best Buy Gift Card. Now I'm shopping around for a different unit.
