this is the 3rd Insidious movie. I know the title gave it away, this is the prequel nonsense where they ran out of ideas but are not done with milking the movies so we get a boring "what happened before the 1st movie" bore but if you like the other one's you'll like this.

Enjoyed the movie from start to finish, I wanted to give it 5 stars but I was looking for some in depth character development, especially with the newer introduced characters. I'm a huge horror movie fan and couldn't miss the opportunity to add Chapter 3 to my collection.

This movie did a great job and had a good story line unlike a lot of other horror movies out there. The scare factor was not high, but it was good enough to get the job done. I am hardcore movie fan, but friend that I watched movie with is not and he jumped a few times.

Most horror sequels are quick cash grabs to capitalize off the success of the first movie. By the time the third movie comes around, it is almost always awful. However, this movie is a pleasant surprise. It is much better than anticipated, and seemingly well thought out. A solid entry into the horror genre, especially for a third entry in a series.

There's some great stuff here and tense moments. The only returning cast members offer up their origin story which is nice. If you're a fan of the first two, you'll be entertained and maybe even pleased with this prequel.

Not bad for a prequel story, it was interesting to see the backstory to Elise. If you own the the first 2, this is worth getting. There was some connections to the family in 1 and chapter 2 (a photo and mention) from Elise.

I was surprised that instead of continuing what happened next after the second one, the series went straight into prequels. It was still fun to watch and the back stories added to the creepiness.

The prequel installment which can stand alone without watching the first two films even though its bring back the familiar ghost busters and gives you a more in depth look of the nether realm, the Further.

Insidious 3 was definitely not as scary as parts 1 and 2. I like Dermot Mulroney, but think the movie was kind of a waste of his time. He is too believable a guy to play the part of a dad who doesn't spend much time with his daughter or who doesn't believe her. I like it when he finds out about the slimy guy who's torturing his girl. He systematically and methodically sets out to get it, and I like what he does. Later on, you find out that Elise will probably go into a partnership with those young ghost hunters. That's good, because they each of them are great alone, so when they are together it's even better.

I always had a feeling that this was going to be a good horror film. As a result, I was right because I had a lot of confidence in the new Director Leigh Wannel. Most of all, there was good scares and great acting.

For me this was scarier than parts 1&2 with more jump scares and a lot of tension. As far as this third installment in this horror franchise, Insidious: Chapter 3 gave me a perfect recipe for sleepless nights...

We return to a period before the first Insidious movie. Here the director explains through visual connections how Elise evolves to have the two technical ghost chasers and the spirit that haunts her. I don't want to spoil the movie so your going to have to watch to see how the story weaves things together.

Although the third installment in the franchise, this movie makes for a great introduction to the franchise! Not as scary as the first two, but still an amazing movie by an amazing director and team!

Insidious: Chapter 3 is actually a good horror movie considering James Wan did not direct it. The director actually made it his own which I appreciate all around a fun movie.

Although the sustained tension of the first movie is giving way to an excessive amount of jump scares and loud music cues that seem to tell you be scared, I still enjoyed this movie and found it to be another good, creepy ghost story. Lin Shaye is great as Elise Ranier, her performances have kept things grounded and provided an element of realism that I think contributes a lot more to the sense of dread and fear created by these films as opposed to the jump scares that seem to be required in PG-13 cineplex horror.

Insidious Chapter 3 is a nice addition to the Insidious franchise. It has a whole new cast and story and does a good job of building the tension, much like its predecessors.

This movie is great, but of course it could be better. It is not as good as the other two since it doesn't follow the storyline but it gives it a fresh twist to the series.

Follows the formula of the first two, but manages not to feel stale. Going the prequel route makes a lot more sense than continuing the story from 1 and 2.

I love horror movies and I the the Insidious is pretty good. If you enjoyed the previous movies then you have to see this one too. I enjoyed it enough to purchase it.

I have all of the Insidious movies but this one is, by far, my favorite installment! It is really creepy scary. If you're a fan of the Insidious movies, you're gonna love this one!
