Does the job

The materials used to make it are cheap. I have to replace these after about 8months, the cable eventually gets a short in it. I use it 3-4 times a week. The price is low it enough for replacements to not be an issue.

Restores legacy de-9 ( real name, not DB-9 )

I did, and found the price reasonable. Now you could Laplink(R or TM) that older PC which does not have a USB port (nor would you need a hub)- maybe just a null modem. Why- the old files you need for Taxes, etcetera.
