Needed to make a connection. We put a dvd player and Wii on the television in the area for the grandkids but we needed to change the connection. This device enabled us to do that.

It compatibles on windows 7. I had to download software manually. They provide instruction but then URL link provide won't work so I had to go search on Google. Except that step, I like it, great tools.

I have supplied several of these cables to my customers over the years, with no problems. This time I had difficulty with drivers, since I was installing it on an older laptop. I think it was a Vista platform. But it was resolved, and the device works.

Best Buy to the rescue! Sometimes you need something NOW, this time Best Buy came through with the right piece for a great price. You cant ship it any faster than in-store pickup! Thanks Best Buy for having a usb to serial adapter on the shelf!!!

The cable worked fine, however, it is too short to use for any purpose other than setting your laptop on top of the router or switch you’re patching into. It may be too short for that as well. At the price, you can buy a longer one cheaper from another site.

No surprises here - perfectly working Serial-USB adapter. Did store pick-up (needed it quick), and that was trouble-free.

Great product and great customer service! I use this product to connect to a CDC device with my computer. I would recommend this product for easy connection from your laptop to any device that uses RS-232 protocol.

When windows 8 came along I was faced with obsolescence of all usb to serial adapters I had. The Insignia - 1.3' Usb-to-rs-232 (db9) Pda/serial Adapter Cable - Black worked perfectly without the installation of any cumbersome drivers.

I'm a NC technician, often I have to deal with old equipment that communicate via RS232, nowadays pc have no more that port so if I want the job done, this little adapter it's vital! No issues whatsoever, it works with a large baudrate band

Originally purchased to connect my laptop to a new monitor. Returned the item as it wasn’t needed for connection. Only needed an HDMI chord that came with the monitor.

My laptop was not equipped with a serial port, I needed a serial interface for connecting to an older model receipt printer, and this turned out to be sufficient as an alternative.

I have purchased 5 of these over the years and have had very few issues. I have had one stop working out of the blue and one that would randomly type characters in a console session. Other than that they have worked great.

I run several self storage facilities and the gate operator has a serial port, but our PCs don't. This cable let's me bridge the gap and connect the operator to the PC. Only downside of these cables is that they seem to have a high failure rate.

I don't know WHY they still make devices that require an old style serial connection - but when the new timer for our Pinewood Derby track came with a serial connector I picked this up and it worked flawlessly.

Needed to connect my newer laptop (less a serial connection) to the serial port of an industrial HMI. No problems. I plan to purchase a second unit for a different laptop connected to a separate controller.
