I don't know WHY they still make devices that require an old style serial connection - but when the new timer for our Pinewood Derby track came with a serial connector I picked this up and it worked flawlessly.

I have purchased 5 of these over the years and have had very few issues. I have had one stop working out of the blue and one that would randomly type characters in a console session. Other than that they have worked great.

The cable worked fine, however, it is too short to use for any purpose other than setting your laptop on top of the router or switch you’re patching into. It may be too short for that as well. At the price, you can buy a longer one cheaper from another site.

Needed to connect my newer laptop (less a serial connection) to the serial port of an industrial HMI. No problems. I plan to purchase a second unit for a different laptop connected to a separate controller.

Needed this cable to connect to our medical equipment for taking images. connected without any problem

Works well to connect my existing music system to the laptop for version upgrade. It required installing the driver though and did not automatically load the driver. But it was easy to find on google.

This came in handy when I was trying to hookup more items to my computer

I managed to lose a similar one furnished by my company. Half the time it would work properly. Not so with this one. Works to perfection every time. Not everyone needs this type of adapter, but for me it was money well spent.

Does what it does. Good to still have these legacy cables available.

So very glad Best Buy had this in stock. We bought a new Dell monitor that did not have matching connection for laptop. This was a perfect time saver so we didn't have to start all over with a different monitor.

Needed the serial connection for some old hardware interfaces at our paint station. Originally I wanted an internal expansion card, but this was cheaper, easier, and didn't need to be special ordered/

I was surprised to see that Best buy had these serial to USB cables and that the build quality is pretty good. I thought that I would have to go to a computer specialty shop or order the cable off the internet.

Works perfectly to use an older-style serial port Vag-COM cable for Audi diagnostics on the newer USB ports. Make sure you add the appropriate port as detailed in the instructions.

Purchased for virtual school to display laptop on a TV. Son loves it and I love the fact that he doesn't have to stare at a small screen all day.

Used to let laptop talk to CISCO switches console port. Windows 10 recognized and installed the driver and worked seemlessly with PuTTY.

Looked everywhere for this item and the only place I could find it was at bestbuy! Does what I needed it to do. The cost of this adapter was very reasonable!
