Most laptops do not come equipped with a DB9 serial port. I sometimes need to configure professional AV equipment via a console session and this adapter makes that possible.

Works as intended. Only complaint is having to download the driver off the internet. Insignia customer service had me google the driver as they only have the Mac version on their site..

I finally got the right cable after two trys. Had to get a new monitor after finding out my cables were not the HMDI I wish the sales guy would have told or asked me.

I needed this item to replace an older version USB to RS-232 Serial Adapter that worked with Windows 7 but was not compatible with Windows 10. This item is used with a legacy Garmin MapSource GPS.

I run win 10 on a Mac book Air, this worked like a charm. Needed serial port to configure Ethernet switches and this little guy worked perfectly. Find the comm port and open putty.

Does what i need it to do. And it was the right length.

Needed to find a RS232 to USB adaptor for a device from an old PC to a new one that does not come with an RS232 port. This item does the job.

I used this on my Subaru to connect to my tactrix cable for tuning and it was able to connect to my laptop. It does the job.

This cable worked as expected. I needed to update the firmware of an old product that uses the DB9 serial port but my computer does not have a DB9 port. Success !

This was purchased for a business use where equipment required 1980s style serial connectivity to work. This adapter did the job, making a modern piece of equipment usable for legacy technology.

Cord worked perfectly. My older monitor was too old not compatible with newer computer resolution. Had to end up buying a new 2nd monitor.

Did the job, but kind of short. Would recommend an extension cable as well. Too expensive for what it is.

Most people don't know the difference between a Serial cable (DB-9) and a VGA cable (DB-15), which means Best Buy will always have a couple of returns that they sell for about half off.

Requires a network connection and windows update for drivers. Drivers are not available on website. Does not work for systems that are chipset sensitive. Will not work for PC's running industrial equipment.

Never thought I would need to get an adapter like this and wasn’t sure where I would find one when the need arose. I’m glad Best Buy have this product in stock. Works great

There is not a lot to say about this particular product - except that "when you need it, "you need it", so it is nice to have a LOCAL store that stocks such uncommon items!

Bought this for work related use and did the job as expected.

This cord, though low in price, works for non serial port laptops. If you need a high powered connection then you may want to do more research.

When installing point of sale systems, sometimes the customer's hardware doesn't include the simple serial port. This fixes the issue
