Everything from the packaging itself, the manuals and documentation shows that this has two distinct parts and I ordered this twice... and both times there was no base. I am not going to attempt it a third time, this was just not meant to be.

We are sorry for the whole situation. I can confirm that this was a packing mistake as it does include it's own base. My best suggestion is to replace it for another unit of the same that comes complete.
