A 2 line phone cord splitter may not be essential

Two line splitter was not needed for my purpose. Line from internet goes to my printer/fax and a line from the printer/fax goes into the telephone line. This conformation works but using a double splitter did not work for connecting the printer/fax and the telephone at the same time. I do not believe it is a problem with the splitter and I will returning this product to bestbuy
