They all had the sprial cords which is annoying because over time the connector end would separate from the wire over time. Having a straight wire, I havent seen the stretching on the connector ends so far.

Seemed to be a great product

This was my mistake. The solution would involve buying another Apple adapter at 3-4 times the cost. I chose to use other earbuds on hand.

This 3' audio cable works just fine. It is 1' shorter than the cable it replaced, but this has not been a problem. This works -- if you need such a cable this works.
