For the price it's what I really expected, but not very high quality... get what you pay for with this type of TV. I would only recommend for someone that doesn't care about quality.

I bought Insignia LCD 37" TV two years ago for my mom.
It worked fine, nothing spectacular but the size and the price were right.
It quit working just short of two years. Warranty is a year. My mom's old GoldStar (remember?) TV worked for 23 years, never gave us any problems.
This brand, apparently, has issues with power supply that are very common. Fortunately, my credit card extends the warranty and I hope to get my money back.

Thank you for the feedback, and hopefully the credit card coverage may provide additional warranty timeframe. We do cover our Televisions under the 1 year manufacturer warranty, as well as partnering with Geek Squad to offer Extended Protection plans. If outside of the warranty point, at that time it becomes a decision to pay for repair or replacement at your discretion. - Jon, Insignia Support

Sleek Design / Mediocre Picture

I really wanted to like it, but the picture was terrible. I know it's a "value" TV but the picture was reminiscent of watching SD programming. The graininess, severe motion blur, and lack of bold colors drove me insane. I traded it for a smaller 32" Vizio 1080p which out performs this one. The style and build quality of the Insignia was nice, but that was about it.

I bought this TV for the guest room. It was only used about half dozen times in the 18 months since buying. Probably was not even on for more than a total of 10 hours. The HDMI ports quit working. If this was a main TV that was used often, I would understand, but I guess you get what you pay for. I would recommend staying away from Insignia. It is total cheap junk.
