Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had purchased this freezer in September of 2020 and it conveniently died completely at the end of March 2022, coincidentally 6 months after the warranty had expired (1 year in this case) This occurred without any power outages, no tripped breakers/dead outlets, power surges, or any reasonable excuse that the insignia reps would rather scapegoat. Instead, this freezer died all on its own with no outside acting forces, operating as any other freezer would: plugged into a wall outlet and running 24/7 on the max cold setting. Now I wouldn't be so disappointed if the freezer hadn't also taken $200+ worth of meat on its way out, including priceless meat from hunting trips with it. For those unaware, Insignia is Best Buy's in-house brand, and despite being a store-brand, they do not back the product whatsoever. If you would like to dispose of said freezer as electronic waste after it dies on you, they will charge you $100 to have it hauled away, and that is only after you get to the correct customer service department. If you call support you will be passed along in a game of phone call musical chairs. If you value your sanity, clean clothes, and a house free of the stench of rotten meat, I implore you to reconsider and purchase a freezer from a more reliable and proven brand.

The light still comes on but the freezing function stopped working completely. Lost all the food and it leaked water all over the floor around it. Don’t waste your money on this one. Go with a more reputable brand.
