Customers commend the 55" Class QF Series QLED 4K UHD Smart Fire TV for its very good picture quality and ease of setup. Many find the size perfect for smaller living rooms and appreciate its lightweight design. While overwhelmingly positive, some users have noted that certain apps can occasionally be a little wonky.

Solid TV for the price. I have several TVs in my house and I don't usually buy top of the line TVs. I bought this Insignia for my outside TV and wanted something bright enough so I went with the QLED. Having a fire tv built in is a good bonus because I use a Fire Stick on all my TVs, so its another $40 I don't have to spend.
The colors are fine and the brightness works just fine for being outside under my patio cover.

We bought this to upgrade the tv in our fifth wheel. It is great. We have a Winegard air 360 that it works very good with. We scan fit it’s and analog Chanel’s and pick up many channels. It has a great picture too. We love the upgrade and was a very good price.

Good quality, I wish the remotes were human sized again but I bought this knowing that. Screen color was way off at first till I changed the picture mode. Fast boot up, no lagging. Perfect for streaming.

Good TV, Bad setup experience

Good: the TV looks very good without issues overall. Mostly even brightness except near the corners a little but it isn't a distraction.
Bad: The setup. Couldn't get it to connect to WIFI and couldn't get it back to even try the password again. Full power reset just restarted back into trying to connect. Had to directly hook to ethernet to get it to get past setup.
Every time its powered back on, I have to tell it to go to HDMI1 for my pc to see it. I never had this problem with my 7yr old Insignia TV. It will also just loose signal sometimes then catch it again moving all my items to my 2nd monitor. These PC issues really only affect anyone trying to do the same use as me.
The tv and the price are good but I'm going to return it for something different as I'm not wanting to deal with the minor issue for the life of the TV.
Insignia: how about just turning on the tv before doing all the setup and update stuff first. It felt like it bricked the tv before i could even use it.

Not for anything below 4K

Lets get the good out of the way. It has an excellent picture and great motion handling. Input latency isn't too bad but its not the fastest tv I ever had with gaming. When using 4K signal its fast. Below that and it S-U-C-K-S! When dropped to 1080p or below the tv overscans causing 8% loss of image. There is NO fix for this. Choosing a different aspect ratio from display settings does nothing to fix it except of you choose native, which then shrinks down the image to a tiny rectangle in the center of the screen. Anything not 4K causes bad input lag, even with game mode on. Most tvs have great upscalera but not this one. The only saving grace is it has an option you can enable to output a modern console to 1080p and do a half baked 120hz. This causes the image to look kinda washed out. Its going back in my case. I rather have a cheap TV that can output my switch and ps3 perfectly with a good upscaler than this thing. $259 bucks though? Pretty darn decent.

Purchased this TV for basement recreational room. Mounted it in a rolling stand.
TV is adequate. Not top line but not bottom either. Good value for the price, and purchased on a Best Buy sale, so even better value.

I purchased the Insignia 55" QLED Smart Fire TV about a month ago, and I’m honestly quite disappointed. In comparison to my 10-year-old Samsung, this TV falls short in almost every aspect.
Picture Quality: The image is not as crisp and vibrant as I expected from a QLED TV. My old Samsung still outshines it, especially when it comes to clarity.
Sound Quality: The sound is flat and lacking depth. It doesn’t compare to the richer, fuller sound from my previous TV.
Smart TV Performance: Here’s the biggest issue—the Smart Fire TV function is unbearably slow. It takes forever to switch between apps, and sometimes the TV freezes completely when trying to exit or launch an app. It’s so frustrating that I often find myself plugging in a ROKU or Fire Stick, which runs apps perfectly. So, the Smart TV feature is essentially useless.
Overall Speed: I understand that you get what you pay for, but this TV is slow to the point of being painful. For the price, I expected a smoother experience, especially in the era of fast technology.
I initially planned to return it, but when I tried to do so after only a few weeks, I was informed by the store that the return window had closed after 15 days. Now, I’m stuck with a TV that I don’t like, and it's incredibly frustrating.
Final Thoughts: If you're considering this TV for its smart features, I would recommend looking elsewhere. The picture and sound quality alone don’t justify the purchase, and the sluggish performance of the Smart TV functionality is a dealbreaker for me.
