I have tried changing each end to phone or dash, but it won't stay solid and you can only hear your music in background (muffled sound). Probably too late to return, but definitely doesn't work. I didn't want a cable this long, but there was nothing shorter in store and I live an hour away! Don't know if length is problem or not - but cable is no good.

I would say do not waist your money/time on this and just go for the real thicker version, the thin material on this does not allow you to move your phone around without losing connection or static throughout the whole songs or phone calls.

The covering did not protect the wiring at all. The slimness of these was what I wanted so I could use it with a life proof case, however, these broke and so you could only hear "the left side" of the music. They broke within one month of owning them. So if you buy these, make sure they don't bend near the tips.
