Insignia Macbook Laptop Case Nothing builds higher confidence in any device case than a reassuring easy slip-into-place fit, a slight click to demonstrate the case has grabbed the edge, and a soft grip so one hand can control the computer. The Insignia MacBook laptop case grabs the computer tightly, but does not interfere with case closing. Insignia has kept those back edge points far enough away to eliminate stress on the hinges or interference with port access. It feels soft to hold with sufficient friction on the surface so carrying my laptop out and about feels safe. It's a nicely accomplished Mac laptop case. Recommended.

I’ve been a MacBook Pro user since 2014 (it is still working, but the battery won’t hold a charge for very long) and I finally decided to update to a new model in 2021, the A2442, 14” version. I also talked my wife into changing from Windows, and we now have two identical MacBook Pros. Having had a hard-shell cover on my 2014 for its entire life, I wanted to do the same for the new Mac since the old one still looked brand new. This Insignia brand hard-shell case is exactly what I needed. One of our new MacBooks already has a hard-shell case on it, crystal-clear in “color”, so it is inevitable that I will be making some comparisons to it. The Insignia one comes as two sections of high-quality molded plastic that snap into place on the bottom and the top of the computer. There are three sets of instructions in the package, written in English, Spanish, and French. The case sections are covered in clear shrink wrap to protect them from external damage (the cardboard “box” does not cover the product completely so that you can remove it to inspect it before buying it), and to keep the two pieces of case from rubbing against each other. The bottom cover has four white rubber pads on it to protect the case and whatever furniture you might set the laptop on, and to also keep the computer from sliding about when you are using it. There are cutouts to allow access to all of the MacBook Pro’s ports, and also openings for the cooling vents on the left and right edges. There are also many vent holes molded into the bottom of the case, but these do not correspond to any openings on the laptop, so I suspect these were designed into the case before the MacBook Pro design itself was finalized. Our other case also has them. The two pieces simply snap onto the bottom and the top of the MacBook Pro. There are a total of four locking tabs on each piece of the shell. The correct orientation of the bottom section is obvious based on the port locations, but for the top section, the two long tabs go on the upper edge of the screen (when the computer is open and you are looking at it like you were using it), and the other two tabs are on the very corners of the cover and they are to be located at the bottom of the screen by the screen’s hinge. The covers are held on very securely, but are easy enough to remove every few months to thoroughly clean out the dust that will accumulate between the computer and the cover. The covers on my ’14 MacBook Pro were removed and replaced many times over the years and still held securely and did not mar the aluminum exterior of the laptop in any fashion. I expect this Insignia brand hard-shell case to perform the same since the materials and design are very similar. As you can see in my photos, this case which is described as “Clear” in appearance has kind of a frosted look to it, rather than the crystal-clear of our other case. The crystal-clear case tends to show very fine scratches relatively quickly and I suspect that will not happen with this frosted cover, or at least they will not be as obvious. The Insignia case also has a slightly different feel to it due to the micro-texturing to give it the frosted appearance - it does not appear to be the old-fashioned, rubberized-coating that some plastic products used in the past that will get sticky with use and eventually rub off. The instruction sheet that comes with the Insignia case states “Apple logo shines through the top cover”, but alas, Apple chose to no longer illuminate the Apple logo on the MacBook Pros, but you can still see the logo through the cover. Another advantage of the frosted appearance, is that any dust that does gather between the computer and the hard-shell case will be much harder to see than it is with the crystal-clear case. The Insignia Hard-Shell Case for the 2021 MacBook Pro is a very well made product that will keep your expensive computer looking great for many years to come. You will not be disappointed.

I recently purchased the Insignia Hard-Shell Case for my MacBook Pro 13", and I'm highly satisfied. The frosted clear design adds a sleek touch while providing excellent protection. The case fits snugly, allowing easy access to all ports and features. It's durable and feels high-quality. A perfect blend of style and functionality, I highly recommend this case for MacBook Pro users.

Seems reasonably good quality and fits well. Putting on the case somewhat cheapens the beautiful feel of the laptop, and it remains to be see how this will protect from falls. Certainly worthwhile to protect from scratches.

The best products are often the simplest. Here is a perfect example, a two-piece frosted opaque cover for the newest Apple 14” MacBook Pro. **WHAT’S IN THE BOX** • Top and bottom pieces **THE SETUP** Nothing to set up. Just snap into place. Time to . . . **PUT IT TO THE TEST** No big surprise, it just works, leaving uncovered the side air vents and side ports for plug-ins. **CONCLUSION** Perfect fit offering protection from scratches and moderate protection against dents, not from drops. However, this case design is not designed to protect from drops. Recommended! **WARRANTY** One year limited warranty

Perfect fit from edge to edge, could have been better!!! Seems quality built, seen some similar product with like silicone base material for flexibility. But it do the job…

The cover fits perfectly fine and protects the laptop. Its just that covers should be transparent in my opinion, not translucent
