I was so impressed with the quality sound that this radio has. It plays the radio stations so clearly, that you almost think you're listening to a cd.

I purchased this radio for my office when I'm working late. Has nice sound, but sometimes have difficulty with HD stations. But it could be my office. just have to move radio around to get the HD reception.
Not sure if I would recommend someone to purchase it.

When I was having trouble getting a good reception on the Classical music station, I simply thought "That's it, I'm upgrading to an HD Radio!" So I went and found this little number. Cheap enough for any person to consider wanting one, and enabling enough for anyone to pick up the new HD Radio channels. With the Classical Music station on HD2, It makes it easier to sleep at night, and without the static crossing over to one of the more powerful channels. With AM Radio becoming a dying breed, this is worth the money. I was fortunate enough to get it at a discount, due to it being open-box.

Strangely, you turn it on and the radio sometimes takes a couple or three seconds before you hear sound. But the sound is good once it comes on. And the volume is fairly impressive. Overall, OK.

I bought this radio to replace a Sony portable radio I had for years that died. The sound quality is very good and I really like being able to access the HD subchannels and see the station and song info.

My AM antenna had broke on my old clock radio, so I decided since I use my phone for an alarm, I'd upgrade to an HD radio. Well worth it, signal comes clear as a bell, and I don't tie up my phone using an app to listen as I go to bed.

Like the radio. Reception is very good. I typically get HD1, HD2 and HD3 for radio stations. The built-in speakers are mediocre but the sound is not bad when I use external stereo speakers.
I like the built-in telescopic antenna and the external wire antenna. I'm sure this is the cause of the good reception.
The 10 preset memories are adequate. I wish it received AM, but it doesn't.

This radio is one of only a few non-automotive radios that can receive HD Radio stations on FM. Since it's a portable unit, you can take it anywhere you find decent reception, though of course the programming is limited to whatever is available in your area. The sound on a fully-tuned HD station is much clearer than FM normally provides, and the substations can be pleasantly surprising in terms of content. HD Radio enthusiasts should check out this unit for their non-automotive needs.

I love listening to NPR but couldn't always get good reception. The HD radio makes all the difference. Also, it's small and light so I can carry it from room to room easily, and I can put it in bed with me to lull me to sleep!

I paid over $200. for sat. radio, and had constant billing problems. Cancelled it and then found HD. This radio really helps the stations availability. Great

Hard to find just a "radio" without all kinds of added features. I purchased this for my parents in their 90"s and they find it easy to use.

This is a great radio and has internal batteries so it can be useful as an emergency backup, outside and at the beach. HD reception is great and much better than my older HD radios. And the price is good too.

I've been listening to the Insignia tabletop HD radio for about a month now at work to a favorite station only available in this part of town on HD. A conventional desktop radio I tried had trouble pulling in many stations, but this HD radio has little trouble getting a clear signal. The sound quality is very high. It remembers the station I was on after being unplugged, which is nice. I use it with $20 Sony headphones, and I really like it. So far it has worked really well, and I recommend it. The only thing it could possibly use is a tone control or equalizer, as the sound is a little bass-heavy, although that may be the music and station. I wish HD radios and stations were more ubiquitous, they allow more stations on the air.

The Insignia HD radio looks as good as it sounds. All controls are digital, eliminating the need for a tuning dial. You can program presets for you favorite stations. For stations that broadcast the information, the radio displays the song and artist playing. Even the volume is controlled by a rocker switch. You could easily pay twice the price for a fine radio like this.

I was really excited when i got this radio to replace an older radio i had in my office. It was smaller and took up less space. BUT, was disappointed when i couldn't get one particular station i loved. I figured out that it was the building interfering with the signal. After a week of moving the radio around i found "the spot". I am very pleased with my purchase. I also like the ability to program my stations. I'm glad i didn't return it.

I had a difficult time finding a good HD Radio, and this Insignia model was exactly what I was looking for. I connected it to my home theater receiver to add HD Radio as an audio source. The external antenna connection is a great bonus.

Good sound and reception. Station presets/memory controls are demented and the manual is sparse. You'll figure it out.
