It works great with my projector

I used an HDMI cable, connecting one end to the projector the other to the adapter and from the apple lightning adapter side to my phone.

I already had an HDMI cable which I highly recommend as well because the cord is short since this is only an adapter. This product worked exactly as I was told it would. I travel a great deal giving presentations so I'm thrilled that my Surface Pro is now compatible with an HDMI smart TV or projector.

By using the mini port on the surface for the monitor, it leaves my regular sized USB port open for other items, such as flash drives.

I purchased this and it doesn't the job and hasn't given me any problems. Be aware, the box does say "for Mac" but as long as you have a Mini Display Port on your device, it will work.

Our use was for connecting a MacBook to a Television. It would've worked fine, we just opted to get a designated miniDisplayPort-to-HDMI cable itself to do the job so we didn't also have to get a separate HDMI cable to be able to use this adaptor.
