I bought this item so that I could connect my 2012 Macbook Pro to my HDTV and watch streaming TV. Works great. Using the connector is self explanatory.

Works as intended and across multiple laptop brands with mini-display ports. Slightly expensive for being a simple adapter but due to lack of supply as well as adapter types for mini display port, atleast they almost always have these in store. Would love to see other varieties or combos for DVI/VGA/HDMI/display to mini-display port.

I use several different display adapters - consulting for different clients means I need to be ready to connect to different monitors, TVs and projectors. For connecting to devices with HDMI inputs from a laptop, this little unit does the trick without any issues- just plug it in and it works every time.

Great product. Works exactly as intended. It’s hard to be particularly excited about a dongle, but I’d really pleased with it.

Finally figured out that the DisplayPort to HDMI adaptor I had wasn't working. Thought it was everything else when I would go to different locations. Finally ordered this from Best Buy with pick-up from store. Easy to get, in stock, in and out of the store quickly. Works great!

Typical Apple. Always inventing a new plug that we have to buy to make their stuff work. This plug does what it's supposed to. Make the newer Apple Laptop work with the same setup the older ones did, If you need a plug for this type setup, this one works fine. No issues.

As a new owner of a Surface Book (Microsoft's new laptop) I was disappointed that it did not have a built in HDMI adapter. You must buy this adapter to plug in an HDMI cord. I used it the first time to make a business presentation and it did the job. I just am disappointed that I had to buy it in the first place.

We purchased this because our teenagers cracked the screen on the Macbook Air; it still worked but you could no longer see the screen. Now, we just plug it in to the computer and the TV via HDMI and we now have a larger monitor. So far it works very well. Guess we will see how it does in the long run.

My laptop as 1 HDMI out port and 1 Display out port. I wanted to set up my Oculus Rift VR headset on my laptop so I can have the HDMI going to a projector (in a home movie theater) and the display port going to my Oculus. This adapter worked great as Oculus requires an HDMI and not Display.

Excellent product. Still used it daily and still performs perfectly.

The packaging says "Connect your Mac to an HDMI-enabled display". I purchased this to use with my Lenovo X1 Carbon Ultrabook and it works perfect. I connected it to my Sony TV via a HDMI cable and the video and sound works perfectly through this adapter.

This adapter seems to do the job just fine. I ended up returning this for the more expensive Microsoft version since it was for a Surface Pro 4....it is so difficult to tell if the Microsoft version does anything more or different. Also difficult to know if this works with 4K HD TVs and monitors at the various refresh rates...BestBuy staff did not know either. Which the product specs/packaging was more informative.

I have a old mac (I think a 2007) and wanted to have my mac connected to a big display tv I have in the garage. It has hdmi connection which made it work just fine. I could work in the garage, work out, or watch tv.

This adapter is excellent for connecting to an HDMI compatible video projector or presentation screen. Just plug it in to your DV port and hook up the HDMI. You can display your computer information on the presentation device or to a TV device.

Bought this adapter for my daughter in college. She has a Surface Pro and a work laptop. This adapter allows for one monitor to be used for both devices. One HDMI cable to the monitor is switched between both the Surface Pro and laptop.

Leave it to Apple to charge a premium for this cable. I needed it to be able to connect my new Huion Kamvas GT-191 pen display to my 27" iMac. The pen tablet requires an HDMI connection to the computer, but the iMac has no HDMI plug, so I had to use this cable adapter to connect the HDMI cord from the pen tablet to one of the two Thunderbolt ports in the back of my iMac. And it works perfectly.

I bought this adapter to connect a new HP monitor to an existing dock with a mini displayport terminal. The adapter works well. Price was reasonable. I am pleased with my purchase.

Needed to add a second monitor to my IMac. I reviewed the information on my options and selected this connector. Easy to connect and my second monitor was up and running. There are different connection ports on IMac's of differing age, so be careful on selecting your connector.

I was in need of a short HDMI adapter for my Surface. I do a lot of traveling and presentations and I did not see the value in paying the higher price for the Microsoft product. While the colour does not match the other products for my Surface this adapter gets the job done. It has not failed yet and it is the perfect size for fitting in my little accessory pouch for my Surface.
