I understand this situation was not ideal for you. Allow em to comment that the antenna only pics the signals available in your area. If the stations are in spanish, my suggestion would be to contact your TV's manufacturer for configuration within your TV to change this. Thank you for taking the time to review our antenna. Based on my previous experiences with these antennas, there is no way to get it working in a basement. I would recommend you to use an outdoor antenna and a long cable to connect it to the TV on your basement.

After a couple of days, I get a lot of static

I can turn this on at different times of the day/night and the signal comes and goes and there's a lot of static on the screen. It's 8" from a window. I can't move it elsewhere due to the length of connection.
