Let me start by saying I NEVER review product but felt compelled to review this product. I was tasked with helping my mom cut her cable cord as she hardley watches tv and would be more than happy with only the local channels. After some brief research online I thought I would start inexpensive and work my way up till I found one that fit her needs. Fully expecting to have to return this and buy a more expensive one, I was very pleasantly surprised with this unit. Tried first to set behind the tv but didn't have a ton of success. So, I bought some coax cable and ran it to a nearby window and voila!! Ran a scan and it picked up about 40 channels!!! And they are CRYSTAL clear! The local three are perfect and the others are great. Granted, some of the the 40 probably aren't channels most would watch (shopping, Spanish, all day church, etc.) all the locals are perfect and there are 20+ channels she can watch for free. This isexactly what she needed. Because of this $20 unit she was able to disconnect her cable. I fully intend on doing the same thing at my house. I realize a lot of this depends on location and visibility but I had to do very little searching for a good location. Honestly, seems to good to be true. Give it a try, if it doesn't work well for you, return and get a better one. I assure you, I have not been paid to write this. I'm just a happy customer. Good job insignia!

Antenna was easy to assemble but the coverage was not very good. We would see the program for a few minutes, then it would go blank. Not very impressed.

Does not work as well as other antenna's in same price range. Limited range, no matter where I set it, the reception is poor

Don't expect too much. May be it is my area but you usually get 10-15 channels. Get a cable :)

After cutting cable off needed a local antenna however this did not work on any tv in my home

This antenna only received 12 channels. I bought another product that obtain 52.

Unable to get the big network channels i got it for. Was only able to get nbc.

I was very skeptical before purchasing this antenna. Felt antennas were an outdated technology but I needed something to watch football so I gave this one a shot. It had a large mile radius (40) and it was fairly cheap, compared to other products ($25). Some reviews I read said they only received a few channels. I live about 35 miles away from the closest television tower. I was able to access 50 channels from one tv. I tried the antenna on another tv (upstairs) and was able to access 90 channels. All the main stations (abc, cbs, fox) were available on both tvs, so I was extremely happy with the purchase. Also a bonus, most of these major networks were in HD, which is typically $10/month more with a regular network provider. If you purchase this and do not get very many channels, check how far the closest broadcast tower is from you at the link below (or another one, there are plenty out there). If you are within range, try turning the antenna (which is the size of an ipad) in a different direction. It makes quite a difference. (http://copradar.com/dtv/tvtower/index.html) READ (regarding setup): This antenna has no power source (which is wonderful). All you do it plug it into your tv. BUT, after you do this, you must go to your television settings and select the option under setup to set up the antenna. These instructions are provided with the antenna. Great purchase. Not sure if this is how all antennas work, but this one was great. Would definitely recommend.

This antenna does not provide very good reception.

Bought to use in an RV where no WIFI was available. Even in an area within a city I could not pick up even one channel after trying in three directions. Returning for a refund.

This antenna doesnt pull in station 20 miles away reliably. All stations have ghosting and everytime you walk around the room the picture goes out!. Spend the $25 on a better one than the Insignia Brand!

I had to return this item. It would not screw into the port in the back of my tv and when I did get it to stay it only picked up PBS.

The antenna did not pick up my local channels. Could be from me living in a brick home. Either way it didn't work for me.

The only thing that the antenna picked up were the local Spanish language stations. Nothing from even 25-30 miles away.

This device did not work properly on the one tv I needed it for. I'm waiting to try it out on a different tv.
