My Lenovo 910 only has 1 USB port and a USB-c port that is an oval port, looks nothing like a USB port. My first attempt at this was a bust. The plug was to the USB but the quality was really bad. I couldn't use my Cadd programs on the monitor and reading any emails on the monitor was a problem. Going through the USB-C was the logical solution. All screens are crisp and clear now.

Necessary for USB to VGA so you can have a second.

It was cheaper than getting a new video card for an older machine (although it is running Windows 10. It takes a little time a little work to get the driver and to get it to work properly with your monitor and be able to "extend the desktop". But with moderate technical knowledge, you can do it.
