||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.So my old nuvi gps (circa 2010) works great in my 2003 van, but the cord doesn't make connection with newer vehicles (no one seems to understand this plight--"it doesn't happen!" they keep telling me). Well, I bought this before tossing the gps, and it works great! The adapter allows the gps cord connector to make the necessary contact with the new car's 12v outlet (oh, and it gives me somewhere charge my ipod at the same time). If you have an old gps that doesn't "connect" to a new vehicle, this is likely to solve that problem.
